EDWIN STARR H.A.P.P.Y RADIO Extended Version

Happy feet are back in this clip! Edwin Starr's 1979 British hit 'H.A.P.P.Y Radio came into my radius towards the end of that year on a various artist compilation and I was unacquainted with him or the song. Only reaching #54 but spending 17 weeks in our Hot 100 in the last weeks of 1979, the song is still an enduring disco/stomper of a hit - filled with energy and joy. The American R&B singer was best known for his early 70's Motown hits such as 'War' giving him his only #1 hit in his homeland. Sadly his late 70's disco hits 'Contact' and 'HAPPY Radio' were not successful on the Billboard pop charts, but were on the other side of the Atlantic where the aforementioned songs made the Top 10. Edwin died in 2003 at the age of 61. Thankfully his powerful voice can still be heard on tracks like this one.
