Over the Course of the past four days, I watched the session from beginning to the end. It was very insightful. Thank you Rosemary, Precious , Josephine and Augustine.
They may have started the process internally but usually it will be in the news once the nomination process is concluded. However, you should consider getting some of those relevant documents ready while waiting especially the professional memberships. They could take weeks to process in some instances.
Hello, Can I take a photocopy of my notification of results, my original copy isn’t available as I had to travel. I didn’t receive any email so I didn’t know I was supposed to take it with me
Thank you so much. I find this very helpful. I have been shortlisted for the interview. However, in the original SOP I wrote, I talked about the course I applied for (Biotechnology) in relation to food production but based on what I have watched so far, it shows I have to relate whatever I want to study to oil and gas. I can do that but it would then kind of require me to change my SOP. What do you advice please?
Thank you so much for such an awesome resource. One of the speakers talked about how she switched from Drilling Engineering to Data Science. Please how can I do this, because I also want to switch to Data Science. I applied to IFP school, France
@@RobbyTheSniper for the interview, the panel will be mostly interested in the course you decide to discuss with them. That is the SOP or research proposal you present depending on whether you are an Msc or PhD applicant. They may chose to ask a question to understand the possible link between your first and second choice courses or why you chose the schools your chose but that is a probability. The much I know from my experience and those of friends, they are more interested in the choice your present during your interview. Have a print out of your SOP with you.
Please, I'd want to understand if it's the course on your statement of Purpose you'll be talking about because on my SOP, I wrote on Economics but on the institutions part, it's law and economics of oil and gas I applied for.
In all the cases in know about, it has been the content of your SOP. However, since the choice of course in the institution part is law and economics it will be good to have a back up preparation in case they ask about the reason for your choice. It could be what the school is offering and you can mention how you are preparing yourself for the course in your chosen institution or have found another named school in the partner universities list that offers oil and gas economics as a stand alone course. Depending on how the question comes, if at all. Best wishes
My question now after my interview in June is how long do i have to wait for their final decision on the scholarship? And how will they go about it? Also, if one isn't chosen will he get to know from PTDF or will they just ghost him?
it is strange I must say but election years can be strange in Nigeria. Normally, awardees could have resumed in September this year. At least some. But trust the process. During covid the interview was moved or discontinued from 2020 to 2021 but when it was time everything continued from where they stopped.
Your preferred course should be the center of your discussion during the interview. If you have time, or the panel asks, you could mention your other interests but stay more on the content of your statement of purpose or research proposal as the case may be. Congrats on your invitation and best wishes during the interview.
They did virtual interviews during Covid and the year that followed but I understand that candidates were required to return to the country for interviews last year. You should consider reaching out directly to PTDF early enough to see what they plan to do this year so that you can plan ahead. Best wishes!
Not exactly. But there will likely be a required minimum number of words. If there is, it should have been stayed during the application process. But instead of focus on the words of pages, pay more attention to covering all the sections and subsections of the research proposal
@@Asat4u Than you very much one last question. How important is professional membership for people applying for masters?. I saw SPE and i don't know if i should pay for it.
I understand the numbers are more for oil producing states by one person in each category but refer to the published list of awardees in previous years to confirm the number of winners per state.

Glad it was helpful!
What if one has worked so long in a field not related to oil industries like in pharmaceutical industries. How do one defend that

Ideally, the original should be better but you can go with what have in it's absence. It will be for the panel to decide.
Best wishes.

Which school 🏫 in Germany 🇩🇪 is still open for admission
Field masters Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Hello, we were given a chance to choose three courses, when writing my statement of purpose should I just talk about my first choice?

Congrats on your invitation and best wishes during the interview.
How is school like in France, Rosemarie. Do they teach in English?
To the best of my knowledge, the PTDF partner schools in both France and Germany will conduct your course in English language.
Nice informative video. Is it possible to get virtual interview?

Is there a required number of pages for a suitable PhD proposal?
Not exactly. But there will likely be a required minimum number of words. If there is, it should have been stayed during the application process. But instead of focus on the words of pages, pay more attention to covering all the sections and subsections of the research proposal
And do remember to subscribe. We will be putting up videos in the future on other scholarship opportunities and personal development discussions.
If you have challenges with developing the proposal, drop your email and we will send you a sample based on the PTDF standard
Can i take statement of result with me instead of certificate?
If you can get your certificate, go with it. If this is absolutely impossible then your statement of result.
