MOONG DAL HALWA
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
¼ cup Ghee, घी
1½ cup Moong dal, soaked, paste, मूंग दाल
1 cup Milk,दूध
2 tbsp Saffron Infused water, केसर
¼ tsp Cardamom Powder, इलायची पाउडर
1 cup Hot Water , पानी
3 tbsp Ghee, घी
1 cup Sugar, शक्कर
For Garnish:
Pistachios , पिस्ता
Almonds, बादाम
Silver vark , चांदी वर्क
Process :
1. Melt ghee in a non stick pan. Add the ground moong dal paste. Stir well
2. Keep on stirring the halwa on a low to medium flame. The raw aroma of the moong lentils should go away completely.
3. Meanwhile, take another pan of water and bring to a boil.
4. Now add milk to the cooked dal mixture and cook till all the milk is absorbed by the dal.
5. Add saffron infused water and mix well. Add cardamom powder and hot water mix well (The mixture sizzles so be careful while adding hot water mixture).
6. Now add in the ghee and sugar and stir well. Cook on low flame and string with frequent intervals.
7. The liquid should get absorbed and now you will see the ghee getting separated.
Lastly add chopped pistachios. Serve moong dal ka halwa hot.

The kada prasad was really divine .....I have now settled in South India, had tasted this prasad in gurudwaras when i was a child. I made it yesterday ,it was such a hit, with people who had never tasted this prasad.....Ranveer 'sab kuch batata hai'.....technique and recipe ....you are a great teacher Ranveer.
Ranveer sir perfectly knows how to win hearts . The food history that we get to know along with recipes is like an icing on the cake. There are uncountable no of channels that teach how to make various recipes but the manner in which Ranveer Sir does it , he makes sure that food for satisfying appetite is accompanied with food for thought. This is by far the best Moong Dal Halwa recipe ever... thanks Ranveer...this is considered to be one of the toughest sweet dish to make...also one thing I have noticed is that Ranveer is really good at making sweet dishes...other dishes he makes are fine too...but he is a specialist in sweet dishes
