Well, firstly, Dylan isn't a folk musician. Have you heard the proto punk of Tell Me Mama on disc 2 of 1966 Live? Scorching chicago blues on blonde on blonde? Sly and Robbie as his rhythm section later on... there were less than a handful of his albums that are folk.

There may be many more competent musicians than dylan but few with the prolific creativity and cultural impact he has had. Why's that? I hate Bob Dylan, he's way too overrated and he's not a good musician. Doesn't have a good voice and he's not good at guitar. Sure he's a good lyricist, but he's not that good. There are so many more better folk musicians than him.
