- Here are my top railfanning catches of 2016. I caught some pretty neat catches from January 2016 to December 2016. Overall 2016 was the best because I got hired on with NS in October, I met some railfans over the summer, and I got hired on with RJ Corman as switchman in June. Now we'll just have to see what the year 2017 has in store for me while out railfanning. Most of the clips were taken in Illinois and couple in Missouri. Anyways enjoy the video folks.

These liveries are also known as the warbonnets the main livery of Santa Fe's freight.

Sucks that the rest of them are now in storage, well 2457 was actually just brought back out to active service, but the CN Dash-8s don’t have much more run time left in them... sad to see them go, my favorite locomotives out there, I actually have a IC Blue Devil as my pfp!

BNSF 625's horn shown in the video was broken, and that horn was eventually replaced with a Nathan K3LA horn.

Something tells me that the BNSF train at 7:25 is heading to the scrapper's. It's really sad to see all of those warbonnets go the way of the dodo.
Virtual Railfan Productions it would be cool if they were going to go to get restored and put into a newer paint scheme that would be better than being scrapped
AS OF NOW:
BNSF C44-9W 622 (the leading locomotive) is still owned by BNSF and is still wearing the Warbonnet paint scheme. It's Leslie horn was replaced with a Nathan K5LLA and eventually that was replaced with a Nathan K3LA.

It is known as the geometry brick locomotive, and is usually on the horseshoe curve and Elkhart corridors. This is not the only geometry train, CN used to have one, and as of May 2021, those two trains still run.
