I have him 6s and really like him , but trainers i think you better go with kofi mp trainer and otis for 100% protect dmg ,its way better than using asuka and cena cause you dont rely on gem or move dmg
Mine is 6s. I run blue (pele kick), purple (dragon sleeper), and purple (double foot stomp). Trainers: purple lawler +4 blue mp, purple woods +4 purple mp Coaches: purple hogan +1 mp on any color match, purple andre +1 blue mp on match Strap has skill plate that gives 3 purple mp after matching blues. First hit blue move to cause skip. Then hit dragon sleeper and put snoflakes at top of board. Next hit last purple move which fills blue. Hit blue move again to have opponent skip 2 turns. Board will then flood with purple gems. Mine does 2.5 million damage and still has 1 skip move left. Your purple moves are filled so hit them again creating blue to fill and giving another skip. I have had up to 8 turn skips when using him.
I run kofi, sb Braun, earthquake and k-kwik. Double armor for the finisher. Takes one cycle to bring them in range for the protect gems and finisher to get a pin; it’s only ever been kicked out of once when they got a cascade that took out the protect gems.
considering how it usually goes with Finn and the actually purpose, I see no need to use Drew as a coach, instead I use Earthquake for more protection and an extra gem as well as Rhea instead of Cena for MP

Yeah Naka is better but they are very different
I have him 6s. I was lucky to get a 100% gem damage JD belt, so he has that with double fury II and a Ronda jacket

I also use rhea but she's much more rare so for this I didn't. I do prefer drew tho I think
