  • Agistri Island is a short ferry ride from Athens, Greece. You can also get to Agistri easily from Aegina. This stunning island will make you think you have taken the Greek ferry to the Caribbean instead. The short ferry ride makes it an ideal weekend getaway from Athens or even a day trip.
Agistri has beautiful beaches and is a relaxing place to visit. It is easy to get around on the island by bus, walking or biking.

Angistri looks really nice. Very socially distant too. Would love to visit one day.

I can’t wait to go back. It was so pretty. Very easy to social distance there as it is not as popular as many islands.

The best thing if living in South Europe you don't need lots of money to find your peace!

Thanks for the memories! I was on Agistri 22 years ago and it was the first holiday I had with my new boyfriend - who is now my husband! We stayed on Aegina and took the ferry from there every morning to swim in the crystal clear waters of Agistri. We still talk about the delicious stuffed tomatoes we had at a tiny taverna at the back of the church. It's changed a little by looking at your video but not too much I'm pleased to see! Thank you again for sharing this with us.

You are welcome! I am so glad you enjoyed it. It is good to know it hasn't changed to much.

Thank You for sharing this trip with us. I've been to Aegina (part of the three island tour) but never to Agistri. It really does look like a nice place to relax, and not too far from Athens! I'm visiting Greece vicariously through your channel; hopefully I'll be able to visit Greece next summer 🤞

I've just discovered your videos. They're great. Thanks! Looking for some inspiration for a last-minute trip to escape London to somewhere near Athens in the first week of November; relax somewhere coastal, enjoy nice food, read a couple of novels...I wonder if Agistri will be a little too quiet then and no tavernas open. For 7 days, would you suggest Athens-Aegina-Agistri? Thanks.

Thank you so much! I think that is a great idea. I believe that a few hotels and restaurants in Agistri will still be open as they have a small but active year round group of residents. You could always just go to Agistri for the day from Aegina as well. Be sure to check the ferry schedules. There is a link to a ferry ticket operator in the description of the video as well. Hope that helps!

You missed the beautiful pine forests
    The stunning walks
    You have to go back
Take the bus farther than Milos
    Explore
    You’ve missed so much
    Other beautiful beaches
There is so much to do
    Go Back !!!

I was there for less than 24 hours so I knew I wasn't going to see it all. I am sure I will go back. I would have gone back sooner but we aren't allowed right now.

For peace and quiet, Agistri. If you want things to do , Aegina.

I would not have either but a friend goes a lot so I thought I would check it out. Seemed to be plenty of places to eat. Some were closed for the season already but I had no trouble. Glad I could provide some joy.

I probably won’t either since my channel is more about travel and living in Greece than it is about me.
