It's 3am in the USA. I should be sleeping. I've been watching all of your video's. Can't get enough. Just started planning our May 2025 trip. Wedding destination trip for friends in Monemvasia. Decided we will spend a month since the flight is so long. Your video's have been invaluable!!! Straight to the point. Thank you!
Your videos are amazing! You helped me plan and enjoy an amazing trip to Santorini. Please do more videos about the other islands. Would love to go to Milos!
I went last year with my teenagers to Aegina and then to Moni for a day trip. I didn’t pay more than 12 or 14 euros each for the ferry from Piraeus to Aegina. We did it in a day. I loved Athen and surroundings so much, so we are going there again this summer vacation!
We did this trip in early June 2023. I was very lucky in that having a skipper’s license, the captain allowed me to be at the helm for most of the trip! Will we do it again? Yes, yes, yes!
This was SO informative! I went to Aegina in 2011 (via hydrofoil) and spent a few days there. I hadn't been to too many Greek islands so I had no idea how lame the beaches were by Greeks' standards lol ... but I really enjoyed my time there. Our hotel was very close to the Temple of Apollo ruins, so I went there and enjoyed it (I especially remember a lovely mosaic floor). I also took a bus and went to the other side of the island where I visited the Temple of Aphaia -- a goddess I'd never heard of. Not having planned ahead, I then went to the nearby village of Agia Marina, bought a bikini and hung out at an admittedly shitty beach haha. Another thing we did was rent bikes near the port and ride them down the hilly coast where we found a nice place to eat and sunbathe, and a lovely vantage point to take some pictures of the gulf (the water is just as beautiful there as it is in Agistri, per my pics). There are plenty of quiet coves to explore too, even if it's not a traditional sandy beach. I realize now that it's not the best place for the quintessential Greek island experience, but it was a great getaway for the three or so days I was there -- exploration, relaxation, and plenty of good food and shopping.
Hi Sebi, it was so lovely to have met you on this trip. We agree, loved this tour. Agristri is beautiful and fantastic for swimming and Aegina was a nice stop for all things Pistachio and shopping.
Thanks to you Sebastian I did this wonderful experience and my husband and I love it. We are still thinking about the nice time we spend in the island and the delicious food we had at the boat.. thank you very much for the recommendation. ❤
Thanks for the video - we are new subscribers. Your info is so helpful to us as we are planning a trip in the future. We have a quick question - we want to visit a couple Greek islands in November to December this year, where would you recommend is still good for tourists in the quiet season?? Thanks again!!
I was going to book that tour until after I heard near the end of the video, when he stated that it isn't worth it, since you spend so much time on the boat, especially in hot temperatures, and just a few time allocated for actually seeing the islands. I think that I will opt for the ferry and spend a few nights there on my own, rather than booking the day-tour.
I believe they might hose you down with fresh water if you want to, but to be honest everyone just remains as is, and will have a shower once back at the hotel.
Thanks, I'm going back soon. I stayed in Omonia Square and was treated very fair. I didn't know Athens apparently I was in the bad area and it was better than NY maby will stay in Placa. Do you have Hotels you like with winter price's? Monastaraki maby ? Thanks I'm in LA
@@GreeceExplained Thank you for your answer. I am planning a trip to Athens in mid-March and your videos are very helpful, thanks for that too. How about Santorini? Would it be good to visit there, not for the sea, but to visit the island and attend a few events?
I plan to go to Athens on Oktober 3th, its not high season, do you think they still offer boat trips? still good weather for the beaches? and are you serious 150 euro per person?
Unfortunately I will not be able to go there, as I already did all my planning, but I'm really intrigued by all the pistachio products, since I love pistachio, so I have a question: is it possible to buy them in Athens or in other islands, like Paros, Naxos, Santorini?
Agistri is really a boring place and the boat trip is not worth it for that price is much. Anyway, from 09:30 to 13:30 we paid 122 euros for 2 adults and two children. I was really disappointed. There were few beaches that can also be found in Athens. Definitely not a recommendation
I was thinking about taking my teens to Agistri using a ferry. It should be a lot cheaper, we won’t be rushed and could stay there all day. We will be staying in Sintagma square, so I ride on a metro should be fun, too? Thoughts? Thank you in advance!
What is a better tour you suggest to Agristri and also and alternate option than Aigina? Sounds like I want to snorkel in Agristri but not Aigina. We are big snorkeling /divers. If it’s murky waters then I’d rather pass as we don’t care about pistachios lol
A tour that goes to Agistri WITHOUT going to Aigina doesn't exist, but If you're into snorkeling, than I'd go on a catamaran cruise along the Athens Riviera : www.getyourguide.com/vouliagmeni-l147642/athens-catamaran-sailing-cruise-with-lunch-wine-t448351/?partner_id=OMW3ALO&mkt_cmp=true
Hi Sebastian, we are planning to do this island day trip on August 15th and our research is letting us know that it is a religious holiday with celebrations. Will the restaurants and bars be open on Agistri? What should we expect in Athens that day?
I was thinking of doing the aegina-poros-hydra trip, so thank you for this haha! just a question, is it possible to book a day before, too? im flying to athens on monday and want to do a boat trip on wednesday. also, where would it be best to book tickets? online or onsite? thank you again!!
Great videos, thank you! I have 5 days in the Athens area this early November. That is all my time in Greece and is my first time in Greece. What do you recommend in November for a guided day trip to some islands? I dont plan on swimming in the water. 😂 i just want to see some coastal /island beauty but not get too bored.
Hi Sebastian , I'd like to know if this tour is available in the first week of December? Thanks! P.S. Thanks for all your amazing videos, you've the best content on Greece 😊

Seems much cheaper than the day tour
Did you prebook the tickets, or did you go there and buy them on the spot?
This is amazing. Thank you so much for these valuable tips. I would really appreciate a video on off the beaten track islands in Greece. Thanks 😊
Excellent video! I was so thorn. You helped me sooo much!!

Only Santorini and Crete have some liveliness during the winter. All other islands are completely dead.
I been on this tour its aweome
Hi do you reckon the cruise trips to hydros poros and aegina are better? Also do you have to snorkel or can you give it a miss? It is optional righ
I mean rather than a boat there are cruise trips to hydros poros and aegina

In a few weeks I'll be releasing a video on Athens in the winter. You'll have all your answers there :-)
Thank you for the video. The price trip is costly.
Any day tour recommend go to Corinth canal and Nafplio
Are free drinks available, I didn't hear you mention it!
Yup, free drinks
Hello. Is it possible to visit these islands in mid-March and would that be a good choice?
Nope the tour starts running in April. And no I wouldnt recommend visiting these islands in March. It's gonna be all dead and the water freezing cold.
@@GreeceExplained Thank you for your answer. I am planning a trip to Athens in mid-March and your videos are very helpful, thanks for that too. How about Santorini? Would it be good to visit there, not for the sea, but to visit the island and attend a few events?
Your enunciation is so perfect it makes me think of Ross from Friends. But in a good way! hahah
Hahah that's hilarious. I take it as a compliment then ! :-D
Hey Sebastian, we are also planning to come and visit Greece by next year May June.
I plan to go to Athens on Oktober 3th, its not high season, do you think they still offer boat trips? still good weather for the beaches? and are you serious 150 euro per person?
The season ends on Oct 31st, so yes all the tours will still be running ! And yes weather is great in October, not too hot not too cold.
Would you recommend staying in Aegina for 2 days? If yes any recommendations? We plan to travel next month
Thanks for the review. Do yo think this is worth it in early November when it will be too cold to swim?
It will be more chilly for sure, but still as beautiful.
Otherwise, day trips to Meteora or Delphi are also great options.
Unfortunately I will not be able to go there, as I already did all my planning, but I'm really intrigued by all the pistachio products, since I love pistachio, so I have a question: is it possible to buy them in Athens or in other islands, like Paros, Naxos, Santorini?
Yes in Athens you can find all Greek products, including pistachios
Do you think this tour is suitable for a two year old? Do you recommend this or a sunset catamaran along the athens Riviera ?
If your 2yo prefers walking around, being active, definitely this one.
If he's more of the quiet kind, then catamaran.
@GreeceExplained thank you so much. We have 2 other kids and 3 adults in total. Kids are 7 and 11. So hard to choose.
Where did you book this tour? Any suggestion? We gonna go to Athens in June

Most important, you forgot to mention the memorial plaque of Samuel Gridley Howe in Port of Aegina
Sebastian, is this trip worth taking in November?
I would do it, yes. The islands will be a little dead, but still beautiful :-)
Is this deep water where they snorkeling? Curious.

Hi Sebastian, we are planning to do this island day trip on August 15th and our research is letting us know that it is a religious holiday with celebrations. Will the restaurants and bars be open on Agistri? What should we expect in Athens that day?
Some restaurants will close but many will remain open.
What is cruise line called? All day cruise? I’m going to Greece in September ❤ Thank you

I found a day tour but it’s from the delta port?
i will stay 3 nights in Aigina and 4 nights in Agistri... what would you raccomand to rent to visit the island? Small car, buggy or scooter?

Good job...
Is it worth doing a day trip to Santorini from Athens by plane?
Its doable with a very early flight, but its gonna be an extremely tiring day. Would be better to spend 1 night there ...
