Beautiful Kathy, such a voice and talent ;)
It always baffles me when I hear people ask "Well why are you interested in that old music? Get with the times!" I was told that in my late teens when I requested an old Minni Riperton album from a local music store. The fact of the matter is great music has no time boundaries. Do we question why pianist and orchestras are still playing Mozart, Bach, or Beethoven in this modern era? Never because it is great music and will survive for many more generations to come. Billie Holiday and Minnie are American classics. Good music feeds the soul!
