When I was a kid I had a 48 Willys truck I used to haul water from a spring. I rebuilt it and kept it running for years. I learned every nut and bolt on it and how things worked. Was a good thing to do because now I appreciate all my rides and have confidence to work on them. Wes will be awesome.

Merlin, Thanks for teaching ME how to properly use a plasma cutter. I've seen Paul use one a lot in his videos, but you explaining how to line it up & the correct angles to cut at was an education for me. I don't have a plasma cutter, but if I did, I feel confident that I could use it.

Nice job! Teaching a young man how to do things is a great pleasure for the teacher and an important step for a young man. I learned so many things from my dad and I've tried to pass along not only the knowledge but the "how to figure it out" part to my son and daughter. They have both done very well at learning both. It's good to see you doing the same thing with Wes!!!

I remember back when I was a teenager and my uncle had an old 1940’s Dodge in one field that he was selling and wanted to move it to the back of his other property, by a lake incase he got caught in a rain shower and had a place to get in. My oldest brother had a license so he got to drive. We topped off the tires, you could see the cotton cord through the cracks in the sidewalls but they held air and made the trip. And they held air for a few years afterwards.

Wes is a lucky young man who hasn't fallen into the normal pattern of his generation. He also has great mentor willing to spend the time take time to explain things to him rather than just get frustrated and do it for him. Merlin keep up the good work you are doing great job and before you know it he will be shocked when starts showing you a few new tricks he will have gathered out there in the real world.
I had a great group of men who took the time to teach me when when I was his age. I packed my bags and moved 2500 miles away and a decade later I went back to visit them and share my experiences it's definitely a good thing thinking back on it. Sadly now that they have all passed on it's just a good memory.
