Willie, I love your videos. I've currently got a UBNT Cloud Key running my controller software at home. I've got a substantial VMware environment at home and I would like to move the controller to a virtual Linux server to eliminate clutter in my rack. Are you aware of a relatively painless procedure to migrate controller configuration from cloud key to linux server?
Bummer. I sell ER--X's with a 24v 24watt power supply with every UAP-AC-LR out of a 5 pack!! Super nice, clean, cheap! Would be super nice if it could light up some dashboard buttons :)
I had an old version of Java installed on my PC. So when I tried to update the controller, it said I needed Java 11. When I tried to upgrade Java, I couldn’t get any version of the controller to work
I've been using linked cloned VMs too keep older versions... and when I'm satisfied, I created full clone for "production" Last firmware update botched all my android and widows connection, but ok for ios devices... very odd... had to go back to 4.xx.
Willie great video can you do a short video on moving a controller from one computer to another computer if you have time of course . And is there any benefit from using windows vs Linux for the controller? Thanks for all the great videos extremely helpful
I just make a backup of the unifi controller from the old computer and load it on to the new computer's controller takes only a couple of clicks. if the AP's aren't finding the new controller, start an ssh session with your devices and give them a set-inform ipofcontroler:8080/index.
topology isn't doing all that much here, I can see my gateway and the some connected devices. But my AP's aren't showing up nor are the devices connected to those.
Cool stuff. WIll look for the next.

Do you think UBNT will start letting the edgerouters work as the USG role in the controller?
moe247365 No. They are entirely different product lines.
