  • This scenario is Railfanning at Elizabeth by StevenJam - a short stop off at Elizabeth station on the North East Corridor (NEC) part of the North Jersey Coast Line route, to see what trains we can spot!
If you want to join in and watch me live on Twitch, tune in from 8pm UK time at / mattpeddlesden - the show usually lasts for 3-4 hours (though 5 or 6 has been known to happen!). It’ll be great to see you there if you have the opportunity!
My series of Let’s Play Train Simulator 2016 videos cover a wide range of routes and trains with full commentary and interaction with a live audience on Twitch as I drive.
Also, don’t forget my web site at www.trainsimliv... - more news and behind the scenes content, additional articles, some supporting tutorials that go in to more detail than the videos and much more will be on there as the site develops :)

Last I checked, neither side of Elizabeth station was really painted like this, and the blue side was undergoing major construction. I lived here for quite some time, and also other parts of NJ as well(You can actually see the spot i lived from Elizabeth station in the game). Most of the route is pretty spot on.

As far as I know only the MBTA in Massachusetts and Rhode Island has a train travel a certain configuration depending on direction. I believe trains leaving Boston are in the push and arriving trains are pulled

sccrdude22 It's the other way around, the cab car faces Boston

Btw yes there is no configuration depending on direction on the NJT trains, but they normally face loco to Hoboken/New York

The problem with this scenario is the Local AI trains must be set to just stop at the station rather then picking up passengers, since the doors don't open.

They are multi-purpose engines. The brake valve just needs to be switched from passenger to freight mode. And of course, head end power is not used on a freight train.
