- This is a WILD race between Blown Camaro vs the Turbo Rotary powered Datsun at the WYCO Racing 'Operation Octane' event on the Pit Road at Kansas Speedway. The Datsun takes the win when the Camaro blew out the finish line cone. Great driving job by both drivers to keep this one from getting ugly.

Had to see the comments for the Camaro since he was all over the track trying not to lose to a rotary engine😂😂😂

Looks like the Camaro needs to get the wheel alignment checked and done.
I know someone that spun their car 360 degrees, after doing front end steering and suspension work, and did not get the wheel alignment done.
The car eventually did get the wheel alignment done, and has not done 360 spin since then.
The chart did show the wheel alignment was way off from where it should have been, after the car was taken to a shop, and prior to getting the alignment all done up.

I had a 73 sedan. 60 to 80 mph on some trips. Could not wear it out. Even conceived our first child in the back seat. Happy days

Uuuh. A. that was not a prepped track B. Tires cold as ice. C. thats a silly American Stock Car track with a middle pass through track (1/4 mile maybe) probably got rubber, pebbles, oils, metal shavings etc all smeared in it. Waste of a super violent mountain motor against a chiuahaua with a jetpack.

I'm a drag racer myself..and the driver of that blower car is careless reckless and he's going to get somebody killed.. including himself.. you see how that Datsun had to lock up the brakes to avoid getting killed by that crazy guy... The blower car driver has no respect for the sport. Or anyone else's life or car...

Well, Pill, for those of us who have actually driven a race car, doing better than this guy wouldn't be a problem. However I can see how someone who's only experience with real horsepower is watching it on YT would be defensive of such poor driving ability. This guy needs to learn how to moderate the throttle - at burn-outs and launches. THOUSANDS of guys can put their cars down the center of the lane every weekend without this kind of drama.

There are some keyboard mechanics. Then there are some of us who have race cars and still race over 40 years and have raced since before you popped out your mom! We just know where that Camaros problem lays. It's not horse power it's all in his chassis and suspension.
Yeah well I didn't see no wheel weights and he didn't have good traction at all, always double check your basics. He didn't hook up right ever. Balance them tires!!!

I've seen this Camaro in another video racing this same car. The guy needs to fix his suspension and the proper air in his tires. It's not that this car has way to much power it's that this guy cant set his chassis up right or its built wrong. Either way that Chevy needs to be worked on. Period

Just the Camaro did it way worse

We had Rotary Simcas at Chrysler in 69 and we tested them but couldn't get endurance or millage from them. I sure did enjoy driving them. We had 4 dr. Sedans and they were tiny. If i remember right.

Chassis IS bust on the Camaro, you can see when he grabs a gear just before it launches, takes a big old lurch right, which pitches him off and then then fun starts. What a ride that must have been!

Dam good race. Especially being ran on a round track pit road. Track conditions definitely not perfect for the Camaro. But man he drove it to the end. Both guys did an awesome job not to crash.

nallen100 I though a 13B motor was like 1300cc which equals a little less 80 cubic inches.
The capacity of a 13b is 1300cc but to try & make it comparable to a piston motor they times it by 2 but it is in fact a 1300cc engine & tiny in size when u open the bonnet which just embarrasses the shit out of guys running a huge capacity V8
um so i have a 4.3 swapped rx7 a rotary rx7 a yj. and a f150. your correct but it is the only 21st century motor, cant hate for trying to innovate.also it works really well small scale, look up the 50cc rotary.
their is only one replacement for displacement rpm/forced induction.
