  • Making Life Easier by Understanding Our Soils
This video is all about the life in our soils, how and why we should look after it, and also what happens if we don't.
It also highlights my skills as an artist perhaps. Let me know what you think!

    Hi Simon
Hope you are all well. What a hopeless year fo me,far too wet and cold for such a long period.Everything is way behind growing. It’s been a prolific year for slugs because it’s been so wet.I,m having to empty my traps on a daily basis as they get full overnight.I have been using your spray recipe as I have had problems with blackfly. The weather is meant to be getting warmer and if it’s consistent hopefully my plants will grow.
    All the best
    Ricky

hi Ricky - I did hear the weather there has not been the best. Glad the spray is working for you and rather than waste beer, check out my video on using oats for slugs. Hopefully things will brighten up for you

@@diaryofanorganicgrower very much Simon. Understanding this process is vital. I am rather interested in how this then translates to container and raised bed growing practices.

well I have also been looking into this as well because I did do a video about container growing for smaller spaces and can't really see a way of having a compost set up on a balcony. The channel does have a lot of composting videos on it and I am following up this last video on how to get more organic matter into a bed, be it in the ground or a raised one, with very little work, and then from there, a new more comprehensive video about making compost and how we do it here. But I reckon, there could be a way for balcony growers to get naturally sourced OM for free - I am just checking my theory before I go public, but pretty sure it could work.
