It is ash, good eye. One of my favorites too. The nice prominent grain structure of oak, with a more subtle neutral color. Very sad that it will all be gone!
I bought mine from Craft Supplies. www.woodturnerscatalog.com/p/101/6510/turners-select-Drawbar-Collet-Chuck?term=1/2”+collet&term=1/2”%20collet#ReviewsPanel
Such a great video! What is the marking tool you use at the beginning of the video? Looks like metal with holes in it when you are measuring and marking your blanks. It looks super useful and I’ve never seen one before.
Great video Nate! I'm curious to know your thoughts on the lathe now that you've owned it a while. I own a Laguna and love it but I''m intrigued with the idea of outboard turning. Any thoughts you'd like to share are appreciated
I love the lathe! I’ve been turning almost daily for 3-5 hours for the last 4 months solid and it’s a champ. I don’t turn a lot of big stuff and haven’t used the outboard feature yet but I’m glad to know I have the option.
Killer video!!! And it looks like ash, too. I’ve come to really love ash. Way to go Nate!

Brilliant. Thank you. ❤
Great ideas.
It's the most necessary thing the children bored and tiresome need the most in this quarantine time.
Very cool!
Cool project! Where did you purchase the collet chuck? Is there a part #?

Thanks for watching Braxton!
