    "100s of ladies who sing just as well or better than you do?!" I think not.

    I have a question. What’s the difference between dame as in a woman and dame as in julie’s dame declaration?

    • @TheJulieAndrewsArchive
      @TheJulieAndrewsArchive  3 года назад +3

      The Queen of England is the difference. Fancy Ladies are sometimes called a Dame.
      And then a British citizen can be honored by the Queen. Women will then be "Dames Commander of the Order of the British Empire". Julie was honored in 2000, such she became Dame Julie Andrews.

      @@TheJulieAndrewsArchive wait. Another question, does your nationality have to be British to become a dame commander of the British empire or can it be anyone who is a British citizen?

      Hm. Good question.
      I think it’s citizenship that counts? If you are not born British but later become a citizen of their eh, realm, you can become a real knight/ dame.
      Otherwise you could get an honorary title (but are not allowed to be called “Sir” or “Dame”).
