    Hey Macky (& Syd)
    Loving your isolation videos.
    The Shimano chain checker tool is designed to work the other way around. You push the 2 prongs in between 2 rollers, then see if the other end drops in. It is designed like this to eliminate roller play from wear (stretch)

    Like many people I've got too many bikes so I keep a spreadsheet of bike maintenance and another of my the rides I take. That way I know how many miles I've gone since my last chain clean and tire change. I log my mileage from my Wahoo after every ride along with what bike I've used. You could use Google maps timeline too if you bring your phone.
    I take notes on how the bike is doing too like if the bottom bracket is creaking or the wheels are making a weird pinging noise. If I change something major I take a picture of the bike. It's neat to have pictures which show your bike evolving over the years like a Pokemon

    @DRSpalding 4 года назад

    Amateur Dan tip: Don't do lever bleeds until you know if you need to change pads. I have to generally open the port to let some fluid escape after a couple of lever bleed procedures in order to get the pistons to fully retract in order to put new pads in and get them around the rotor.

    I could hardly watch this video, due to my own personal bitterness when I tried to upgrade my bike. It started with me trying to take off the crank arms. I WD40'd it, then put super lube whatever that's supposed to soak in bla bla bla and so I go to take off the crank arms and nothing. Weird. I try a bit hard, a bit harder, I am shaking the bike with the pedal end to get it off the tapered steel rod of hatred and shame (minus 15 points across the board.) and there go the threads. This is where I should have quit, but just imagine Wile E Coyote bouncing down a mountain, and that is how it went from there. My new rear hub is still not on, and I managed to make it so I had to order new spokes, which will be here in 2022.
    So, yeah. None the less, it was cool to watch you work on your bike in spite of my recent non mechanicalness. I should have video taped it for you guys, but mostly it was me, laying on my back saying stuff like "How? I got all the right stuff and you still stuck a stick in my eye socket" followed by maniacal laughter. It would have been funny to people who know me and know how funny I find this stuff later on.
    Anyway, I should shut up. Thanks guys for the video
