No matter where a hornet lives in the hierarchy - queen, worker, pupae, larvae - the vacuum is the great equalizer.
That Vacuum does not discriminate
The vacuum is the Judge, the Jury, and the Executioner
The vacuum is the equivalent of a Toy Story claw.
WHAT IS A QUEEN TO A GOD?
Yes, they all say it sucks!
The girls are so lucky. I wish my father came home with the equivalent of a Red Lobster meal every time he came home from work lol
Lol!!
Damn Sally....that's a mic drop right there!
OMG, Sally wins the internets today!
Sometimes you get tired of Red Lobster and wants some McDonalds?
Lol.
Every colony gangsta, till the Dyson shows up.
Haha *shop vac 🤣😅😆
@@HornetKingOfficial That dank cyclone technology would give them one hell of a final flight though 🤣
Hahaha!
I could never imagine being upstairs and hearing the horrors of wasps buzzing down in the floor that leads to the basement ceiling.
And the chewing!!
@ARTHUR PEDREIRA if I find a recipe I will happy hand out the napalm so you can do it efficiently.
I can honestly imagine a wasp coming back from foraging and going
"Um guys, where the hell is the nest?"
Damn, that thing was massive! Good thing it wasn't a "murder" hornet nest ;)
Hahaha, that would help the viewership though lol
"In the vacuum she goes" *floop*
Why was that so satisfying lmao
Honestly
I literally read this comment as he said it...🤯
15:00 Sometimes I too will use both my hands regarding the nozzle between my legs.
I'm sorry...I had to 🤣
Hahaha TWHS 😅😆🤣
15:10 "But doing the one handed job always works too."
"I don't know why that's so satisfying to watch, but it is what it is. We don't question it do we?"
I love that he is more National Geographic and less Stephen King.
Thank you, Malikah!
And its satisfying to watch b.c you're cleaning too!! Always feels good to vacuum a mess or clean a dirty dirty wall
The King is back! Big love and respect from Sweden ❤❤🙏🏻❤❤
Thank you, Emil!!
Yes, it is really satisfying to watch the envelope been sucked up!!!
Single father here, Your very interesting to watch, me and my son love your videos.
I am impressed by your workflow considering how scary I would feel being surrounded by allot of these flying creatures!
As someone told me: a professional makes their work look easy and effective and you are a true professional!
Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much! I appreciate that!
It's amazing to see just how calm and dosile they are. You would think with the noise of the vac it would annoy them. But there just like, yeah we're OK lol. Brillaint work
Thats V. germanica for you :-)
Its nice to see and learn how intricate these nests are without having to get close to the nests ourselves!
The queen: ILL HAVE YOUR HEAD FOR DESTRYOING MY KINGDOM YOU PESKY HUMAN!!
him: to the vacuum you go
That part mad me sad lol but its exactly whats going on...
Queen- REALEASE ME HUMAN!!!
Human- if you say so
Can't we just appreciate how these creatures are expert builders? I am always blown away when I see videos like this.
7 of those male wasps disliked this video before dying off.
Just got home from a 10 hour shift to find your video uploaded, great end to the night!
Thats awesome! Welcome home!
@@HornetKingOfficial Thank you. And thank you so much for making the videos. Hope the girls, yourself and Humphrey are doing well.
Do you ever get super nervous when having to pick a nest up? How often do you remove nests?
No I dont get nervous anymore. During the season, I remove several nests everyday.
Hornet King - "I'll hold the nozzle between my legs....."
Me - "oooh, is this video about to take a turn left?"
LOL
I almost said "That what she said" lol
Mr. Hornet King, I love your channel. Your a lot of fun to watch .and I like learning from you.
I appreciate that!!
I actively run from buzzing creatures, but I adore these videos
Glad you like them!
When you remove a nest to put it in the bin, you should add dry ice! It would probably save you a ton of time vaccuming when you get home! Hi from California
Thanks for watching!
Na, don't want to kill the larvae too.
*Edit* let me clarify...the dry ice might very well induce a hibernation state from the extreme cold. However, the sublimation of it evaporating into carbon dioxide, inside a sealed container, would probably cause hypoxia and eventually suffocation. Killing all adults and larvae.
@@Aaron48219 forgive my ignorance, but why not kill the larvae?
@@131ver What are the chickens, goosey and squirrelly squirrel going to eat? They love the larvae. That's why he brings them home.
11:50 wasp stinging the wheel on the tripod, pretty interesting view
My favorite part is when you split open the layers of the comb and we see the stragglers chillin' inside! I like to watch them get sucked up in the vacuum! Lol
The "way too big," ben, wasn't at all. When handling a huge live 'bee bomb,' like that nest, the ben was 'just right!'
Glad it turned out just right for you...
By now, with all the larva you're getting every day, your chickens and even Humphry must be getting pretty fat!
I do also find you vacuuming up the envelope most satisfying more so then watching you pluck larvae out of the cells , feeding the larvae to the chickens , turkey, squirrels or vacuuming up the adults .
It's funny that Pigeon is taking control, she used to be such a scare-dee cat Chicken-- now she's the boss.
The size of this thing!!!! Holy mackerel. Hubby saw it and said "I'm glad our wasps don't have nests like that" I told him to just get rid of the nests before they come out of hibernation. Thanks for the fun on twitch. Thanks for the videos here ♥♥♥
Haha, hopefully you dont have a nest like this someday, but if you do, you know a guy! ;-) Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channels!
Yellow jackets: It is late in the season we are safe....uh guys look who's face I see looking up at us!
Hornet King: "Honey I am home! 🐝🐝🐝
Question: When you brought this home, some of those Queens could say I am outta here and go off and start another nest???
Haha! I think I heard a few of them saying that!
Its possible the queens could leave and be able to start another colony the next season. However, these new queens that are still INSIDE the nest, probably hadnt mated and will be less likely to start a new colony.
Im not really sure why this came up as a suggested video or why i even enjoy watching these videos but they are at the same time very intriguing.
*Hornet King* well done, again thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. God Bless.
Thank you for watching! I appreciate you being here!
That intro was fantastic. I thought you had landed a show on History Channel or something, it was so professional
Thank you so much! Im glad you enjoyed it!
Dread it, run from it, the vacuum arrives all the same. And now it is here. Or should I say - The Hornet King is here.
The video even with no comments is great but your excellent narration makes them really some of the very best on YT about wasps.
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate that!
Great video. Agree their construction skills in the dark purely by touch, and symmetry of the nests is amazing, not forgetting the ground nests where have to first excavate to make the space.
Looking good as always! That was a huge one! (That's what she said. 🤣) I love looking for the Queen. I don't know why. Pigeon does look hilarious. Aww... So sweet. Thanks for the shout out. I'm keeping my eye out for the next stream. Stay safe honey and I'll see and talk to you soon.
❤❤❤Absolutely!! I have been really enjoying you being on the streams and hanging out! I just appreciate you being there so much! Im looking forward to the next stream! I hope you will be there!
@@HornetKingOfficial You know I'll be there. You bet your big butt I will.
I woke up to a -6 degree temp and I saw a spider walking across the floor. It didn't last long because my dog also saw it and she had a spider breakfast.
Good dog 😂❤️
Not aggressive at all, good thing with those numbers 😯! Stay safe Bret. 😎
Thanks!
Favorite line "the one handed job always gets the job done"....
Boy I wish we could get some of those down here.
Like the videos man. I can see how the exposure therapy works! The real test will be when it starts getting warm and humid in Wisconsin!
Thanks, Jack! Exposure therapy helped me!
Thanks Brett. I had never heard of Twitch. I will give it a try! Great Video!
Thanks Wally!
i'll add in on the drywall part. it doesn't matter how big a hole you cut because a good drywall repair person is going to cut it back to the stud anyways so that its a solid repair, so cutting your hole bigger doesn't make too much of a difference
That nest had a crazy amount of adults still! Amazing. Here in Frederick MD I have the little aggressive Yellowjackets that make ground nests (under wood piles or the basement window roundels), and the bigger ones that make tree nests that are not so aggressive. That was a great video, it had everything. Peace.
Thanks, John! Im glad you enjoyed it!
"The one hand job always works." LOL I've been stung so many times, so I detest these insects, but for some reason I am loving watching your work and learning about their amazing habits!
HAHAHA TWSS!
Thanks so much for watching! Im glad you enjoy being here and checking these out!
Surprised the vacuum hose never clogs up with envelope. I figured it would.
Yellow jacket envelope tends to be quite brittle. In addition, envelope is very layered, so by sticking the vac in sideways, its getting a lot of "flakes". If he gets too big off a bite, it will clog up.
Depends on the species. Some YJ species envelope is stronger than others and doesnt shred and it clogs the vac. Arenaria, Maculata, Squamosa, Vidua, all have a clog potential. Maculifrons, germanica, crabro, are shredable!
Hey to the girls and turkey and Humphrey and her family y’all be safe and GOD BLESS y’all brother Amen 🙏.
mans got a day time tv style intro. moving up in the world!
Really wish there were such a thing as an M41A Pulse Rifle in real life, then you could blast those hornet nests to tiny bits.
A gel blaster or airsoft rifle would be fun lol
There's a mini shotgun that fires salt I've seen. The salt works like bird shot scaled down I wouldn't want to get in one ft distance to try it though XD
Jayden Seed Yup, I know Aliens.
These videos are SO awesome! I always watch them!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
I wonder what it is but I felt those guys on me this time. That hadn’t happened in a looooong time!
This was this was a really good one!
Thanks!
Leslie
I take that as a great compliment because you have seen MANY of my videos! Youre no stranger to my content so if YOU had that reaction, then this is a good one!
Thank you for the encouragement!
satisfying to watch is ther queen getting sucked into oblivion.. I worked in HVAC for years.. yellow jackets were the one thing that stopped us from doing our jobs.. massive nests inside some of the rooftop units
Thankfully I don't have to deal with hornet infestations but I love watching these videos they're strangely satisfying oh and greetings from Canada
Thanks for watching!
I’ve said it before I’ll say it again, when I hear “German Yellowjackets” I think of two Yellowjackets talking to each other in German.
That thing was huge, awesome stuff HK.
Thanks, Jason!
German Wasps: You call this winter? This is a warm Spring day to me!
The colors on that nest are fantastic
Man, I love your video's. So educational and interesting!
Man You are awesome!! Haven’t downloaded twitch yet but I will! I just love learning about the different ones. Ty so much for allowing us to follow you doing apparently what you LOVE doing!! God bless ya all the way from Louisiana 😍
Awe thank you, Jodie! I'm honored you would download Twitch for the streams, though during the removal season, I dont get on Twitch very much. During the winter I'm on several times a week!
If you want to talk wasps, feel free to shoot me an email at bretdavislpn@gmail.com
Both terrifying and fascinating!!!
Terrific video, as always. I apologize for my late reply...stressful week. Thank you for the awesome vid!
You'll hear them buzzing inside the walls. I rented a trailer that was infested. The mud daubers built a nest in an old air conditioner unit which jammed the fan. After unplugging and spraying dorm took two hours to get that mud out of there to free the blower.
This time i was quite sad when you took the nest apart.
They looked so peaceful.
V. Gemanica are the 420 of the YJ kingdoms! lol
@@HornetKingOfficial They're waspafarians
Bats do that too. In out back garage a few years ago, we put a fire in the wood stove. They warmed up and started flying around.
The pattern in their build is so pretty. The curves flow with so much movement. But they gotta go!
Another fantastic video. I guess if you could figure out how to get that enormous nest out of that house, I can figure out how to follow your Twitch live streams! Off I go to do that, right now!
Awe thanks, Jane! I appreciate the support!
I never been more satisfied after subscribing to channel than this one here. 👍
I appreciate that very much!! Welcome to the HK community!
Love these video’s
Thank you!
Hi Mr H.King..ha. I really enjoy you and your videos. I have learned a ton about hornets. I can see why you love them, for they are fascinating.
Doesn't hurt that you are easy on the eyes😍🐝
Also like your chickens, squirrelly squirrel and Turkey.
Ps you are rockin with that red sweatshirt and beard😍😍😍😍
Awe! My face is as red as my sweatshirt now! lol! I appreciate the love and support!
Man that's crazy. They must be a bit less aggressive than some other species of wasps though considering they let you vacuum away part of the nest without the entirety of then going kamikaze on you. I'm sure they're still attacking of course but they didn't rally the whole nest to come at you at once just for exposing the inner layers
Wow I love your channel! This must be scary to extract so many yellow jackets!
L’aspirateur et l’avenir je pense même si c’est long
T'es partt Etienne haha
Uh yes
I literally hate bees and watching these videos makes me very uncomfortable. Yet... I’m subscribing. 😂
wasps those are wasps
Might help you get over your fear. These videos may help you understand wasps and bees better and lessen your hatred.
@@freddie488 man i wish,, i have a horrible horrible fear of wasps to the point where i cant go outside in august... honestly this is cool as hell but heck nah im not goin near any wasps lmao :')
"Can remove most of the envelope without disturbing the nest"
Said Hornet King Calmly.
Considering they are much less aggressive, German yellowjackets are one of my favourite yellowjackets
The twitch streams are fun! (BTW, I'm "DJOro" on twitch)
It will be nice to see your entire hour-long removals in the stream. :)
Thanks so much! I have really been enjoying them, and thanks so much for joining the streams!
Nice videos. Your time editing it looks like is paying off. Your content is great! I hate bees. But I have learned so much from your channel about them. Wasn't it some ancient proverb about keeping your enemies closer! hahaha! Miss your old intro music tho! The new one is pretty good, but I think you had some videos where you put that old intro music as your outro. They will succomb to the vacuum!
Thanks!
Video intros change from video to video. Never know what intro I feel will be used until I am creating the video. Like last video, there was no intro ;-)
@@HornetKingOfficial Yea I noticed too I was like, wow right to it! Always learning something from your vids! It's neat to see you prepare everything for your animals. And an eradicated nest doesn't go to waste. Very interesting to see the ingenuity of some of these nests you remove. And you mentioned in this video how they did everything in the dark. Looks like the evolutionary and nest building instinct is still very strong in their species.
I love wasps in a way, they're so cool. though, if I see one I run 20 feet away and I definitely wouldn't want any in my home lol
Me: I'm going to binge-watch all of these videos and no one can stop me
My apiphobia: Allow us to introduce ourselves
Loved the video as always. Would love to see you do some more of the burning I think it was with wood last year or year before through a chemical process. It was really amazing so if you could incorporate into a video again that would be fantastic. Love all you teach so please just keep sharing your materials and knowledge with us. Take care and stay safe! Buzz happy each day! 🐝
14:04 “Bye queen!”
I was wondering about the choice not to livestream on RUclips, that makes sense. Thanks for the breakdown!
Watching this again. Love your videos. What kind of wasps tend to build nests inside of a home? Also, how come you don't let the Queen mother fly away or is she able too?
Try to be careful cutting ceiling board with textured coating on it, in the uk we call it artex, I think it’s called popcorn ceiling in the us, anyway, it often contains asbestos, maybe wear a mask when you saw into it :-)
"In the vacuum she goes..." *boop* :)
Wow! What a nest. German Yellowjackets don't seem too aggressive, like they just take it. If someone threw a rock at one of their nests under an eave and jumped in the pool, would they be the kind to hover above the water until the person comes up for air and sting them then?
That was a big one. Chickens will feed we'll keep making awesome videos ✌️💖😊
Sure was! The girls are spoiled for sure! lol
Thank you for the love!!
Yayyy another video!! You're so inspirational man! Sorry I missed your twitch stream
Thanks, Ryan!
I swear this dude needs a tv show
These wasp nests are very likely 'hell's Papier-mâché', and serve as pinatas during celebrations/parties, and sporting events...
They built themselves a nice multi-level condo!!
Yeah they did!! haha
I love how he is vacuum the envelop and the bees are like what ever it is fine. New sub BTW! My bro showed me this channel and it is amazing!!
