      Na, don't want to kill the larvae too.
      *Edit* let me clarify...the dry ice might very well induce a hibernation state from the extreme cold. However, the sublimation of it evaporating into carbon dioxide, inside a sealed container, would probably cause hypoxia and eventually suffocation. Killing all adults and larvae.

      Haha! I think I heard a few of them saying that!

    • @poohssmartbrother1146
      @poohssmartbrother1146 3 года назад

      Yellow jacket envelope tends to be quite brittle. In addition, envelope is very layered, so by sticking the vac in sideways, its getting a lot of "flakes". If he gets too big off a bite, it will clog up.

    • @HornetKingOfficial
      @HornetKingOfficial  3 года назад +3

      Depends on the species. Some YJ species envelope is stronger than others and doesnt shred and it clogs the vac. Arenaria, Maculata, Squamosa, Vidua, all have a clog potential. Maculifrons, germanica, crabro, are shredable!

    Nice videos. Your time editing it looks like is paying off. Your content is great! I hate bees. But I have learned so much from your channel about them. Wasn't it some ancient proverb about keeping your enemies closer! hahaha! Miss your old intro music tho! The new one is pretty good, but I think you had some videos where you put that old intro music as your outro. They will succomb to the vacuum!

      Thanks!
      Video intros change from video to video. Never know what intro I feel will be used until I am creating the video. Like last video, there was no intro ;-)

      @@HornetKingOfficial Yea I noticed too I was like, wow right to it! Always learning something from your vids! It's neat to see you prepare everything for your animals. And an eradicated nest doesn't go to waste. Very interesting to see the ingenuity of some of these nests you remove. And you mentioned in this video how they did everything in the dark. Looks like the evolutionary and nest building instinct is still very strong in their species.

    I love wasps in a way, they're so cool. though, if I see one I run 20 feet away and I definitely wouldn't want any in my home lol

    Loved the video as always. Would love to see you do some more of the burning I think it was with wood last year or year before through a chemical process. It was really amazing so if you could incorporate into a video again that would be fantastic. Love all you teach so please just keep sharing your materials and knowledge with us. Take care and stay safe! Buzz happy each day! 🐝

    Watching this again. Love your videos. What kind of wasps tend to build nests inside of a home? Also, how come you don't let the Queen mother fly away or is she able too?

    Try to be careful cutting ceiling board with textured coating on it, in the uk we call it artex, I think it’s called popcorn ceiling in the us, anyway, it often contains asbestos, maybe wear a mask when you saw into it :-)

    Wow! What a nest. German Yellowjackets don't seem too aggressive, like they just take it. If someone threw a rock at one of their nests under an eave and jumped in the pool, would they be the kind to hover above the water until the person comes up for air and sting them then?

    These wasp nests are very likely 'hell's Papier-mâché', and serve as pinatas during celebrations/parties, and sporting events...
