Unlike Rahul Gandhi, the 6 are actually fighting a battle and NOT RUNNING AWAY. Therefore, the electoral result might NOT be the final verdict on their careers. Azad needs to increase his social base (specifically, among Hindus). There is no point in courting Muslims. Anil and Annamalai will only rise in the BJP. Unlike Congress, where nobody is allowed to rise above Rahul Gandhi; it is "sky is the limit" in the BJP.

Not only Dalit leaders, but all caste leaders lost. The rise in education level ensured caste system was to be destroyed. In Kerala, The Christian population has decreased to 14%. Of these, 4-5 % are below 18 years of age. About 4-5% of the voters are not in Kerala but they are living with their children in other states/countries. The Christians have influence in 3-4 constituencies but the voters are split between Congress and BJP.

There’s no way Azad is winning Nagina. It’s a seat dominated by peacefuls however reserved for SC. This will either go SP or Azad will cut into SP (and BSP) votes and give BJP the win.

Annamalai has already won people's hearts. An electoral win may give respite for dravidian parties for few months as he would be busy working as a cabinet minister. On the other hand, a loss will invigorate his resolve to dethrone the DMK and will be the front runner for chief minister ship in 2026.

I findnine candidate missing.. though this guy doesn't have impact on national politics as if now but it has potential to change the some of equation for BJP in Rajasthan, candidate is Ravindra bhati from Barmer, Rajasthan who is giving very tough compitition to BJP. Who implicitly got the backing of Former CM Vasundhara who again is sidelined in party. All in all again awesome episode from DK. I wonder can Baramati candidate Sunetra Pawar can be 7 candidate in your list too?

In respect of Karnataka, DK is wrong. It is Tejaswi Surya who is important candidate. If he looses, loss of hard Hindutva and if he wins, irrespective of whatever happens in rest of Karnataka, hard Hindutva will continue to have currency

The BJP and its senior leaders are guilty of arrogance as well as mocking the intelligence and liberty of the Indian voter by making unwarranted proclamations such as crossing 400 seats in the lower house and only Modi can become PM. In a modern nation state, where the citizen is supreme, the least a prospective candidate or party can do is to be a bit submissive and humble and at most talk about their manifesto and past performance. The rest should be left to the discretion of the voter citizen.

Identity, narrative and geography is going to play a major role in the 2024 general elections. Caste,gender,regional identities and faith will have an outsized sway and influence on the voter's minds come voting day. But if the first two phases of polling are to go by it signals a disenchantment, discontent and disillusionment with the politics of the day. Political parties are alarmed by this trend and analysing how a dip in voting may impact their political fortunes and electoral prospects. Heat,harvest and extended weekend holidays are being cited as reasons. But the ultimate divide and lived hierarchy between a politician and a common citizen is the talking point here.
This assole didn't realise or intentionally downplays the impact of Suresh Gopi's win in Kerala. Even though he was an actor and had a decent following among all sections & he couldn't win any election until now. If at all he win it will tremendously help BJP in navigating upper caste Nayar voters tilt towards BJP from CPI. Besides, I agree that Anil's win will definitely have an impact from Christian voting pov.

Other 2 candidates i would say are - Kanhaiya kumar. He is amazing at speeches. Other person not for parliament but for assembly is Pavan kalyan from Andhra pradesh. Dude has long way to go if he wins this time.

Quite honestly I think DK is quite off the mark, when he says opposition leaders are only focusing on why voters shouldn't elect Modi, they are also focusing on their Manifesto, the promises of a basic income for poor females, apprenticeship for graduates, and people are most certainly discussing about it. This election is quite different in terms of Narrative setting, BJP is on backfoot and they don't have anything other than attacking the opposition
