I agree about the challengers being a problem: inaccessible for at-home trainers, in the way for those of us lucky enough to be out and about. I feel they could have solved both problems by putting them mostly or entirely in balloons. Lots and lots of balloons, like rocket grunts in previous events. Keeps them out of the way of the pokestops, as well as available to the at-home trainers.

I appreciate that you unlike some other RUclipsrs wear a mask when you go outside and you’re not gathering with random people. I’ve seen other content creators that live in the United States traveling the United States mask less meeting up with random people to play Pokémon Go. So shoutout to you for not being that guy. 👏🏿

Yeah, ended the event with 0 shinies and few with IVs that’d be useful in pvp. Not what I would call a great event by any marker. Mostly just another event that Left me feeling disappointed at the end of the day.
The irony that Nick hatched a Rattata just before the event, and then didn't find a Rattata during the first hour that he needed one...

I started playing at 10am and didnt catch my first wild shiny until 5pm... I felt like rates weren't as boosted as they are during comm days.
Yeah it was quite disappointing, shiny rate hardly reaching 1 per hour (at least in europe) basically we paid for a boost of candies and a shiny mew quest

Just wanted to send you some love and tell you how much I appreciate you taking the pandemic seriously. I just unsubscribed from trainer club since he did the kanto tour downtown Miami playing without a mask and hanging out with a large group of people that he showed, none of them wearing a mask as well. You have been super cautious and careful to not spread the virus since the very beginning of the pandemic and I truly appreciate the work you’re doing by advocating to stay home and care for others during these times.
The trainers were a pain. I wish they weren't everywhere

I got a ticket and couldn’t get the last thing where you fight 3 with your buddy. Had incense on too, lure and star piece, buddy on map and as part of team.
Did u change ur buddy to a stronger mon u could have switch and switched it back.

I quite enjoyed the event. Got 16 shiny’s while for most of the day just sitting inside with incense on. Also plenty of ways to get balls and enough other stuff to do. I also think the change in music is something so small but yet completely changes the vibe of the event. I always play with music off, but this gave me that little bit nostalgia to my first ever Pokemon experience. Also shouldn’t forget the research stories for shiny Ditto and Mew that I’m yet to do!
Overall think the $12 was worth it, gave me something to do for almost a whole day
I only got 12 shines (I think) including Ditto but when that Makeup comes I'm buying some coins and running everywhere to get shines. The shiny I want most is Ponyta

I got very lucky with 24 then my mrs was even luckier with 31!!!

@@Tom2000vE Yes - its always terrible in my area - i can grind community days and get no shiny. Put it this way, if you put a pokemon in the 1 gym in our town - it will stay in it - my record is 2 months and my pokemon was the only one in the gym the entire time.
Sad when the shiny rate was so low on our end and we played though the whole event time even :(... So nice to see you enjoying yours Nick!

I planned to play a few hours, but ended up playing from 9 to 9. I enjoyed it a lot and ended up with 37 shines. Having said that, tt is very disappointing to hear that not everybody had a similar experience. Wish Niantic would find a way to make this more balanced.

I stopped playing for years and came back right when this event happened. I didnt know what was going on until it started and I was already luke 4 hours in the event I just brought the pass and tried to learn as much as I could lmao.

While I can’t speak on behalf of the whole community, here are my thoughts on my day.
Played all 12 hours & got 27 Shinies.
One of these shinies included my first Shundo.
One of the funnest events I have ever played in Pokémon Go.
Paying homage to the nostalgia most of us players enjoyed in summer 2016.
Big props to Niantic for this amazing event. 🙏🏻

I held onto my 7 day research until after the event started. It was my first shiny of the day. Quite nice bring that I traveled from Colorado to California during the event.

Weirdly I didn't get candy tasks for the opposite version, I got candy tasks for the version I was playing. I was Red so it was all Mankey, Oddish, Ekans and Growlithe. Luckily I didn't need extra candy but I wonder if that was a weird glitch.

2:46 As a rural player these people were so helpful since they gave 20 pokeballs. It kept my inventory alive with the very little stops I have access to. That is why they were so common and they were my favorite feature of this event because I always end up running out of pokeballs to quickly

I played from 9am till 9pm. No shinies at all. The event was veery underwhelming. It sucked that they required you to go visit Pokestops to defeat challengers, in the middle of a PANDEMIC! Also, they didn't mention that the regional raids wouldn't stay after the tour day.. Why make the quest for a week, if the raids are do-able for that day only. Very disappointed

I'm so happy for everyone who enjoyed the event; it wasn't a great experience for me though. I used incenses and went to non-populated areas with poke-stops, and certain (non-team exclusive) pokemons wouldn't spawn for me. (I'm looking at you, Goldeen and Dratini.) I mean, I loved the free raid passes (and the remote ones too), and the extra candies, but so much was happening all at the same time: there's the collection challenges, there's the timed challenge, there's the special research tasks, there are raids you have to do-- it was overwhelming. I didn't know paying for a ticketed event would also mean paying to be stressed out. :(

I swear that i am playing a different version of the game than everyone else - Spawns have been terrible - Zero shiny for me and i played all day. Pokestops not showing the battles until the last 30 minutes of the event so i could only find 2x battles the entire day (i only have 3 pokestops in my town though). so only completed task 1.
Our only gym had no raids all day and invites to raids didnt work with the app lagging so badly just kicked me out every single time.
I also got no quests from spinning stops - all 3 stops just giving "scan pokestop"
complaint to niantic...
I have no way to trade Pokémon so missing some Pokémon to evolve... :(

Yeah but when you beat one, another spawns at that same Pokestop after 1.5min. In the game, you beat a challenger, they are done for good.
Pokémon GO is a different game with different objectives and a completely different structure to any main line series game, pretty hard to compare both lol

Funny how y’all got to come in here and state some obvious things.. all I did was make the comparison to how annoying the challengers were in the original games.. I’m not talking about when you played again at 34 and could avoid them. I’m talking about when you were 8 playing red and they were in your face at the worst times possible and you couldn’t escape them..
I played so many hours of the day for 3 repeat shinies that I already had from past CDs. Worst waste of money and time, I need to quit asap.
That’s just bad luck, most people I’ve seen got a lot of shinies with a lot of variety. I got 19 and 15 unique species

Even though I know the outcome of Nick's shiny Snorlax journey, I was hoping the outcome had changed in this video.
Event was decent overall, 35 shinies here but only 18 unique ones!
The 6 incense exclusives to each version were too dominant on incense for me though. They were appearing every other spawn from them, only minor though 😅
I think the same about the trainers in the pokestops, at first was kinda fun, different... but at some point it was very annoyed. Neither my friends nor I got shiny snorlax, that was a bit disappointing. In general I had no luck with the shinies, but I still had fun with the event. Congratulations for your shinies!! :)

I am not buying any more events in this game. 3 hours before my first shiny, an effing electabuzz, then Abra, magikarp and machop, yes just 4 shinies from 12 hours of grinding. I transferred more of those shinies before the event. I'd have been better off just wiping my arse with the money I spent in the ticket and passes. Sorry if this offends anyone but u can imagine how I feel. Total waste of my time, effort and money.

For the first 4 hours I only caught one shiny and it was from a raid. After that it was an avalanche of shinies. It was nuts. I enjoyed the event a ton. In Texas where I am at there was a ton of people out in the downtown area walking around talking and raiding together. it was so cool.
