Trying to Fix - TI-83 Plus Graphing Calculator with Screen Issue

I received a job lot of faulty TI series graphing calculators (2 x TI-83 Plus, 1x TI-85 and 1x TI-86). In this video, I attempt to get one of the two TI-83 Plus calculators working.

Good to see you didn't give up. Not sure I'm ever gonna need this information myself but always interesting to see how things work.

The metal foil is RF shielding so the calculator doesn't emit and is less receptive to interference. Also, the missing OS message might've been caused by the reverse polarity clearing some part of the ROM? Good work getting one functional calculator out of the lot so far. Too bad replacement screens are so ridiculously expensive.
