- Only around 100 people in the world have been diagnosed with UHS, which gives the hair a dandelion-like appearance. A Georgia mom is raising awareness on Instagram after her son, Lock, was diagnosed.

@@MsBellasworld So actually this syndrome deals with the hair follicle. Everyones (poc, white, ect) hair follice is round. This syndrome causes the follicle to be heart shaped. Because of how the hair follicle is and how it grows out it is more jagged and will not twist with the other hair. It will only form knots!

I’ve read about this condition in the past. It’s the way the hair grows is different than ours and the color has no pigment like an albinos hair that’s why they call it uncombable because the hair pattern. At least this boy’s hair looks brushed and groomed. The case I watched before the parents look like they gave up and the hair was just matted and nasty.

Children who have this rare uncombable hair syndrome typically outgrow it on there own as they get older and they do have treatments for the more severe cases but usually they just outgrow that as they get older so he'll be ok and I doubt anyone would make fun of this handsome little boy anyway.

My son had hair like this as a baby. The blonde darkened a bit by the time he got was a teenager, but it was still poofy. When he was a toddler, women in stores would come up and pat the hair saying "I just have to touch it!" lol He is extremely smart, very high IQ, and could read at two years old. He is almost forty now, still has the crazy hair! He keeps his hair fairly short. It can't be tamed.

Any man that is experiencing or has experienced hair loss knows that you can call it how you want but what that boy has is simply not enough hair. When follicles grow so far apart the can’t add up their mass to fall down with gravity.

His mother is right, we should celebrate people's differences, but that's most definitely not the case, when you have black people being dismissed from school and the workplace over their hair, and styles. And also for decades blacks being discriminated against because of the God given melanin in their skin which makes it darker,and beautiful. We are who we are, and who we were created too be, we didn't create ourselves, but God did. But we continue to fight one another over our differences. His hair is beautiful, there's nothing wrong with it, so how did it make the news? I'm shaking my head.

I didn't know it was a syndrome- My dad said it was the Irish in me- my hair is super fine and grows straight out of my head- during punk days I didn't have to work to get my Mohawk to stand up.
