Playing all the right notes is one thing. Breathing life into those notes is quite another. Your arrangements and depth of feeling make this music seem almost brand new. You truly play with heart and soul, Mr. Gryaznov.
Thank you so much, everybody, for your thoughtful, warm, critical (but not so much) comments. The score is available here: gryaznoff.com/works/piano-solo/grieg-peer-gynt Maybe I will add 2 pieces in the future to complete this mini-cycle. No promises though)
Slava, your playing of Grieg’s Morning Mood captures the feel of Norway’s mountains, streams, and fjords more accurately than even his Concerto. Or the sun rising over a Moroccan sand dune while the full moon is setting in the crisp dawn air. I have experienced both. And hey, ask the videographer to show your face as well as just your hands. Looking forward to seeing you play again in the San José or Berkeley parts of California.
the Anitra's Dance is made more interesting to listen to by your Jazz elements and different harmonies. Candy for the ears. The Morning Mood is very beautiful. Of course they both work well because of your beautiful playing.
Slava, there is no mistaking the elements of your wonderful style... similar to the beautiful ebb and flow of your Borodin.. and you know how I feel about that! Anitra is layered with richness and character that give it depth and dimension that are both fun and pleasant to hear. I have no doubt that Grieg would agree and be pleased by the care with which you treat his work. Now... how about a seashore visit?😄
It sounds wonderful, Slava. The arrangement, the playing, and the audio quality. Can't wait for "In the Hall of the Mountain King"! Also sounds like you got it tuned this week :)
Nope, no King this time. I spend a few almost sleepless nights but the result did not satisfy me. I didn't manage to find my approach. Maybe later) Yep, it's tuned
Your unique style adds a lot of flavor to these well-known pieces. I love it, especially the interesting harmonic elements you added to morning mood. Ivrave more of your arrangements!
Класс, восхищаюсь Вашим пианизмом! Все аранжировки стильны, подчеркивают замысел оригиналов, но и содержат что-то новое, интересное! P.S. Кто посмел поставить дизлайк?
First of all, thank you for sharing your gems with us! I really liked the second piece. The numerous, romantic harmony changes really spoke to me and pleasently reminded me of some of Godowsky's Rameau transcriptions. Regarding the first piece, the warm tone resonated with me. I believe however, that with adding some more adventerous harmony changes - like in piece No. 2 - piece No. 1 could shine even stronger.
I felt the same. I loved the more modern harmonies (even some jazzy ones!) in the second one. The first one was much more streamlined and I felt the 1 - 5 - 1 - 2 - 3 arpeggio was overused.Still good but could be better.
haha, cool. ;) Now i found myself having flashes of Cecile Chaminade in Morning Mood and Villa Lobos ( as in A prole do bebe) in Anitra's. .. totally enjoyable anyhow.

I agree with 1-5-1-2-3. It originated from the original initial melody though. But could be better. Thanks for the comment.
Excellent 😊😊
Loved Anitra’s Dance! I thought a few times you were channeling Dave Brubeck or Bill Evans!
Beatiful meddley from beatitful pianist :)
solid as always
Sublime
Color me harmonically impressed. I kinda feel that Rachmaninoff would love these versions also!
Huuugee. It sounds great
4:03 yes
Гениально! Даешь еще!!!
Замечательно, Слава!

I wonder if you have any chance to hold a piano concert in Tokyo (of course after the end of this EPIDEMIC).
Вячеслав, спасибо за прекрасное переложение. Как купить ноты?
Никак, просто скачать:

Is this "morning mood" arrangement your own original transcription?
(Sounds like a little bit different with other pianist's performance)
Yes
I love your harmonic changes, so beautiful chords ! Is it possible to buy the score of this work you’ve done ?
This is amazing! Will there be a score? I really would like to play this in the future!
Is it possible to buy your arrangement somewhere?
Just made it up on my website
