The religious bots always made me feel sad. A belief that led them to breaking. It's sad to me since they only wanted peace and understanding. Their core beliefs were actually something to aspire to. :/ But the only way they could register their Grace's death, was to believe that he had ascended. Even when they are killing each other and attempting to kill 2B and Pascal, they are doing so to make you a God. They think they're doing something wonderful.
Dang Marz, Miss cant dodge is no more now your dodging like a Pro! Im glad your enjoying this after the slight bumps. Always love seeing this pop up in my bell notifications!
I swear this game teaches such great tolerance and understanding for other beings (and people in real life). "they're committing suicide", logically you would think Machines cannot even commit such an act, that they are not "living beings" so they do not have a life to "commit to suicide", but this game makes you see things so differently that it's amazing. That what defines a "living beings", and what constitutes as "humanity". Maybe humans aren't the only ones that have humanity in them. This game teaches pretty powerful lessons
I've been waiting for you to get to this moment ever since you started your play through! I'm pleased you're enjoying it, Marz! Can't wait for you to finish it!
"Wow.. all that red looks so pretty against all the white doesn't it?" I laughed so hard when you said that. XD I love this game so much and everytime your newest upload it makes me want to get back to it for the final ending.
Wow that factory level was something else... I haven't played Nier Automata but I think the machines there simply couldn't handle being freed from the network after Adam died. Who knows what its like to suddenly be given independent thought when you have never known it before?
guess we can finally say: welcome to nier automata! it only gets... better... PD: you can dash while in the air, she does an horizontal dash without falling, great for clearing gaps on the floor and stuff.
I do love your genuine reactions to everything so far, and for what you're experiencing, you're doing a good job at taking it in and understanding the situation that's going on. I'm also surprised you noticed the machines taking on "the worst traits of humanity" already. Don't think anyone else noticed that this early xP
Bloodborne and Nier Automata are just two different games. I really shocked you managed to juggle between the two. As a fan of your videos I really hope you go the whole way and do all 3 play throughs. Have fun Marz!!!
6O is just the most perfect cinnamon roll. Have you talked to her at the Bunker yet, or even done any of the Bunker sidequests? Remember, you can use the transfer stations to go up there as well. 6O and the other active operators can be found in the Command room up on the balkonies around the elevator.
Finally! A new NieR:Automata video! :D Things are going to get SO MUCH better from now on! As a lot of people here told you, please I hope you can play through route E. This current route is just like if it's just the prologue!
I need to sleep. Had a long day and then I see this. Alas I can barely keep my eyes open so I'm gonna head to bed. But first thing in the morning. I am watching the entire video. Excited to see what happens.
Watching this late now at 2019 this is soo cool. You make the best coments Machine: why does he's grace have to die. You: I don't know he's head just fell off LMAO P.s it's great not knowing the game by playing it makes it more authentic just how I would have play it but I can't too expensive . Love from the Philippines
"what is this?" be careful the questions you ask, you may not like the answers in this game Become a God part is so scary and depressing actually O.O Also when 9S is revealed by Adam, notice he's held almost in a crucified matter, nearly identical to Jesus of Nazareth. Symbolism of a kind hearted and pure soul being sacrificed by Adam. The religious alegories are pretty strong. Adam and Eve (Bible) were the first people to sin by grabbing the forbidden fruit of knowledge but in return granted mankind the free will to choose whatever path they wanted, wrong or right. Adam and Eve (machines) give the machine life forms consciousness and grant them free will when they die, and also seek knowledge beyond what they should.
It's amazing how far you've come with the combat! Keep up the good work, keep asking questions, (this game invites that wonderfully) and keep plugging away.
You don't need to lock on too often. Just for laser shots, long distance. (Even then, lock on isn't necessary.) Also, you can hold the hammer button for two or three hammers. (All other types charge, too.)
I was looking forward to seeing your reaction to the copied city. As well as "Become As Gods". Here's a combat tip for you: Since you have the "Counter" chip installed, when you see an attack coming towards you, repeatedly tap the analog towards the enemy. You'll block the attack without taking any damage. It happens pretty fast and you don't get the same effect as dodging, but it allows you to continue attacking pretty fast. I know your first instinct is to dodge, but try this against singular opponents. Against multiple it's always safer to dodge. Also in order to switch lock on I think you have to tap the Right Stick left or right. Also don't worry about the hammer. It's a bit of a pain to aim but you did hit the big guy. When you hold the pod program button longer it does charge it. And you get extra levels if you have more than one pod. So two hammers will appear if you have two pods.
I forget how well the scene with Adam uses existential themes and Christ-like imagery to comment on human nature... I wish more games went down the rabbit hole of philosophy... hell even bring on metaphysics and epistemology I say to the gaming industry
Automata has a lot of interesting themes in it, but honestly Adam's whole thing is probably one of the weaker elements. His whole "hate and war are true human nature" thing is pretty stock anime stuff. Fortunately he's not the main villain like your average anime or video game would have made him, and it gets much more interesting from here on.
I actually have the new "Become as Gods" edition of the game from the Microsoft Store, but ironically, the "pray" feature seems to no longer exist? 🤔 I can still retrieve or repair the bodies other players left there, though.
2 years late I was a highschooler when I beat this game when it first came out I still have the game and never got the good true ending so I’ll play again since you already did 😢 I wish I watched your channel 2 years ago
Hey there, if you read your messages / comments, then I'd like to say this. I enjoy your playing! I'm currently playing Nier as well - Level 73. On ps4 You don't always have to lock on... if at all. Just change your bot to the one that's got missiles. It locks on automatically. Just hold and fire. I changed button configuration so R1 is for evade and R2 for missile lock. Of course do what you want. Some advice? Get your levels up Chips and weapons. You'll hit real hard and work less. Cheers!
You should Trust more in Shockwave chip. You equiped it but you always was next of enemies. For example, in horizontal combat, you could resolve the fights using meele attacks with sockwave even Far of enemies.
Great series and one of my favourite games of the PS4 generation. Would loved to have seen more interaction with Emil☹️ He has some cool stuff to buy. He appears in 3 different locations on the map. Each location has items only obtainable from that area.
I'm not sure if anyone mention this.... retrieve other players' corpse can give you temporary buffs. not gonna lie but I thought it would give me chips that I can equip later, but nope..... just temporary buffs. the buffs can be different... sometime can give you extra health, melee damage, damage resist or movement speed.
Was Persona 5 o Marz list of potential games the community voted on? Nier, Bloodborne and Persona 5 are the best of the best. The sense of friendship you get out of Persona 5 is the sort of feeling most people only get when their kids. Also the voice actress for Operator 6O is also the voice actress for your cat.
oh and btw once you "finish" the game play it again, since it doesn't really "end" after you play it 3 different times, but remember it's not by clicking "new ghame" in the menu it's by clicking "Load game" and doing your save again, i think, 'cause otherwise you might delete the saved game where you "finished" it once.
It looks like you picked up the 2nd pod, but don't know how to use it. If you press right or left on the d-pad it will change pods. The other one has missiles instead of a gatling gun. (I like gatling over missiles, but missiles can hit multiple targets) You can also equip a different program to each pod, so one can have the hammer to clear groups and one can have a defense ability or the laser to hit long range targets. The longer you hold the button for the special pod attack the more pods that will participate (max 3) and the stronger the ability. You will have to look up the 3rd pod though, you won't accidentally find it like the one in the desert.
Huh, wonder where the devs got their inspiration for that "blank level" from. The particular style of architecture seemed similar to historical city parts in my local area. One city in specific.

Play Nier and you will know where they got their stuff. Even the music
56:30 I'm soooo sad you didn't get to talk to that specific bot. /edit: To me, this part combines some of Nietzsche's and Kierkegaard's philosophies. Kierkegaard mostly believed that humanity's free will was the proof of the non-existence of God, and that humans' ability to dictate their own lives made them, at least symbolically, Gods. He was extremely critical of institutions, which he felt were dogmas and rules imposed in exchange for an "empty" salvation (not divine, by itself). Nietzsche's belief is that we "killed" God, primarily due to reason and to the fact that we chose free will and moved away from the control of institutions. By "killing" God, we chose to decide of our faith and to exert control instead of leaving our faith to a higher divine power. I feel like both of those visions are intertwined in this specific segment of the game, where the robots "transcend" as Gods, but still can't find meaning for themselves (many similarities to what humans are currently experiencing in our modern industrial world).
I feel like Marz sometimes doesnt pay enough attention to the story which is like one of the big reasons why one would play this mindfuck of a game...along with the music lol The reason why you see non hostile machines everywhere & machines becoming religious (a human concept btw) all of a sudden is cuz 2B killed adam who was controlling half the machine lifeform. Yeah, but why some of members stayed passive? Actually, these fanatics don't act like human. It seems like they don't get this concept fully. Like other machines cut off from the network. They struggle to mimic and understand human but they' re missing something. And about philosophy that you talked about. I bet you read Kierkegaard's works as the highest priest's name is Kierkegaard ;p I feel like, they took his thoughts too literally.
I think you are a pretty, sensibile and emotional girl, i follow you for see your reaction in future. (This game is full of more powerful emotional moment. Prepare yourself and try to complete secondary quest. Is an important parte of story) bye Marz is a pleasure to follow you

Bloodborne not relaxing?? 😂😂😂

Please play the game until ending E
Intense, bizarre and fast paced. The story is picking up!! Didn't expect so much to happen in one episode. Can't wait to see what happens next!
Adam dying was brutal for me because hes the most human character in the story that's the irony of it, and hes literally the MAIN machine. Wtf lol
You have got so much better omg!!!
Thanks! I've tried haha
Wow, you destroyed Adam. So cool so see how much better you're getting with each playthrough
