- Hey everyone! I'm pleased to start the Operation Piercing Fury campaign for the A-10C II Warthog Tank Killer! This is one of the most immersive, realistic campaings available for the A-10, and the best part is that this campaign is free to all A-10C owners! I highly recommend it. Please let me know your thoughts and comments below! And like and subscribe for more! - Raptor Rising

Ah, good ole Piercing Fury! This was the first campaign I had ever completed. It's a blast! Looking forward to this series
Yeah it is still so damn good too. Really holds up well!
So good to see more A-10 footage from you! I still have mine sitting in storage, waiting for me to learn how to operate it. :D
Also - nice to see I'm not the only one using Neutral Dots in VR. ;)
I miss DCS, couldn't really fly the past couple months for personal reasons...
I know, I was starting to get a bit out of practice with it, but it's kinda like riding a bike once you get back into it.
I figure spotting in DCS is tough enough, might as well use the neutral dots. In reality, we have an easier time spotting because of the way our eyes work with identifying movement and shadow contrast, but that isn't as feasible, even in VR, so keep 'em on, I say!
Sorry to hear you've taken a break, but I hope you get back into it soon brother!
Thnx for sharing
Thank you!
Keep it up raptor rising there not a lot of quality dcs Chanel’s at least not on my RUclips feed
Thank you!!!
I looove that immersive missions 👍
Im not so much into that sandbox style.
Yeah really makes the missions much better
How do you use a mouse in VR? I used to play dcs on a pancake all the time back in the day. Just dropped 2k on a new build, 3090 ti, reverb g2v2, 5800x3d and some other goodies. Trying to get back in to dcs, but its been sometime.. got a dedicated keypad etc.. just learning tje basics again at this point.. i paid for flaming cliffs back in the day, but apparently you cant use it now... I flew (as good as I could) the su 25 and absolutely loved it.. Shoot me back some pointers and what setup u have and how to set up the weapons etc. Great vids btw.❤
Hey, so lots to unpack here. For me, consistency is king when it comes to using my mouse and keyboard with my HOTAS. My mouse and keyboard are always in the same spot and I can generally get any key press I need as long as I can find my home keys. Even my HOTAS setup is pretty consistent between modules so I don't have to fumble around when I switch from aircraft to aircraft.
Flaming Cliffs is antiquated, there is a Flaming Cliffs 3 module that exists for DCS that is lower fidelity, I would absolutely recommend it, but wait for a sale. If you want to try out high fidelity mods that are free to play, I highly recommend the A-4 Skyhawk community mod as well as the UH-60L, that'll give you a really good taste of rotary ops.
Good luck!
Sub'd btw
Thanks for subbing :)
I love the A10CII, I really really do. Just that the INS alignment takes soooooooooo damn long...
It definitely takes a bit of time, but I like to use that time to configure my stores, review the mission and other things. It's still much faster than a full alignment in most other jets, though!
Do you know you can do a fast alignment? In the first 30 seconds after the CDU startup, hit INS > ALT ALIGN > FAST.
@@GuilhemBrouat I don't think I knew that but on the other hand, it's only 4 minutes and gives me time to configure my other stuff but different strokes for different folks right?
@@RaptorRising You're right, but as I usually manage to get everything ready during the fast align process, I tend to always use it.
If you modify the startup procedure to deviate from what the in game tutorial suggests you can make the alignment time feel very short. Right after you turn on the APU and before spooling up either engineer, you can turn on the CDU+EGI and they’ll start alignment way sooner. By the time you start up both engines, MFDs, and get other systems on and view the CDU repeater on the right MFD, it should nearly be aligned. In fact if there’s anything else you have to do (configure stores, configure presets in the ARC-210), do it then and the alignment will surely be done.
DCS is a sim, and some “safety” elements of start up can be modified since the harzards (or cost issues) of real life don’t apply.
Good video, however the vr is nauseating trying to watch full screen. looking forward to the series
Sorry to hear, I've got headshake reduction on. I'll see if there's something more I can do in post
What in-game settings do yourun?
Clearly runs highest graphics.
@@SPFLDAngler Not possible in VR sadly
@@seaharrierfrs1 Hey, I run just about everything on high, I use both anti-aliasing methods. My trick is I use about 80% rendering using Nvidia image scaling and foveated rendering (you can actually see the pixelation at the corners of my videos). I get buttery smooth frame rate, averaging 50-60 with VR on my 3090. I wonder what the 5090 will do for us, I'm keen on that when it comes around.
Nice! How did you zoom in VR?
There are two keybinds in the settings you can use, one for a small zoom and one for larger zoom
@@RaptorRising thanks. My pc shit the bed the day mulithreading support was released. Great video!
Ah that's terrible! Hope you get it back up and running soon! MT is pretty amazing!
I've never heard someone refer to a main service route as a main supply road before
