@SadBoy-fi2zv 😀 hichhiked from northern germany to Florence Italy in August 1985. On the way back on an Autobahn Gas station in Tessin 2 guys from Holland told me that they asked 2 girls with a car for a ride to Basel. The girls said that they only go till Luzern, which is around 100 km south of Basel. For these dutch guys it would have been a decent ride north but perhaps they thought its not their direction or not far enough they "gave" me their ride...so I talked to the girls, sisters by the way, for 3 hours and they invited me to their parents house😀 the next day I went back to hitchhiking, a little sad Ihave to admit.. But we stayed in touch by writing letters and some very expensive phonecalls from germany to switzerland, a week of camping on the lake of Garda in October and some visits by train (with special offers from Deutsche Bundesbahn called rosarotes Wochenende - pink weekend). I then moved to south germany, then to switzerland, married, got 2 children and also the swiss passport. That's it more or less. And more than one time I thought how would have been my life if these dutch guys had a little better knowlegde of swiss geography or simply had taken the ride or haven't said anything to me....sometimes you have to be lucky... greetings and good luck to everybody
