The Lord of Night dye on the Sakai armour looks perfect. I grew up with games like Jade Empire, and though the combat mechanic and story was largely different there, the music here transports me to those memories. I appreciate that you're taking your time with the side quests and play the game with the care it deserves. This is what sets your channel apart from others; you pay attention to the lore, story and characterisation and I've often times seen you go back to start a series from its very roots when possible to give yourself and the viewers the complete experience, instead of jumping to the last installment just for views. For that alone, you have my respect.
Welcome back! In the little cutscene of a standoff, it will still let you change your outfit.. So I wander around in the Traveler's outfit, initiate a standoff and then switch to the Sakai armour! It makes me laugh to think Jin is like, hang on, I just gotta change, one sec 😂 Also you arriving at Masako's tale, she's arguing and then says "Jin, a word." in such a demanding tone, and Mapo is just like "Hello!" 😂😂
I've watched every video and I still never get it recommended to me for some reason, you're doing a fantastic job showing this game to other people who haven't played it keep up the good work!
Another banger ep. Forgot how epic the Uchitsune duel was. A blowgun pro strat tip: shoot the hallucigenic darts at the big bois with cannons from a distance. Sit back and laugh. So glad this is back 🎉🎉
I'm still doing the thing weeks later! Don't know how much it helps since I'm in the crowd that tends to wait until a series is complete or nearly complete before I start to watch, but I still do the RUclips things for whatever boost it might bring! Keep up the good work, Mapo! I'm in on it in real time for BG3 because I've been WAITING for that one. Seems like I am very much not alone there.

He's awesome and there's some interesting twists and turns. Glad you're finally getting the family armor! Looking forward to the Yuriko stuff; it's masterfully done. The duels are sick and some of the most memorable moments in the game. Love the environments they take place in and the challenge. Most aren't too hard but I'm not the best player so a couple took a few tries, haha.
The Sakai armor is actually historically similiar to two armors in real life. The base and second tier resemble an armor of Sakai Tadatsugu, whereas tier 3 much more resembles the signature armor of Honda Tadakatsu. Both were part of the shitenno, the four guardian kings of Tokugawa
It's true the game is more fun to play than watch, but the world and story are so good it's worth seeing your reaction to everything. The game is one of my favorites and seeing someone else enjoy it is awesome!
commenting to help the algorithm! i think the quests tpwards the middle of act 2 up until the end of the game get really great as you see all these storylines progress and conclude, I think Norio's and Masako's ended up being my favorites
Man good luck doing this and Elden Ring at the same time. You're going to be drinking a lot of accidental tears flasks and throwing a lot of unintended kunai. How fabulous is that Sakai armour, though?

I'm really enjoying this playthrough, but the episodes are long, so I tend to watch them in small sections and leave a like at the end so I know which ones I've finished. I guess that's probably not doing you many favours with the algorithm.
let's have some real talk about YT GUI... it's shit. I have over 500 subscribed channels, I have no idea how many of them are dead channels, how many are not even shown any more by YT. Some channels vanish for like few months and then suddenly appear out of nowhere. Subscription page is flooded with uploads and impossible browse. All those issues could be solved if we could create themed folders and group channels into specific showing only uploads from those channel in the group, making it much more reasonable to browse
