He is the Main Man 🏉💯
It gives me a goosebump when TJ lead the first Haka,it was like you're going to war
Tana Umaga for me, that Haka is just insane... The intensity and passion.. Imagine facing that in war hundreds of years ago.
@@MW-ov8wi absolutely
Gun beats spear
@@skollybob of course but psychological warfare can be more effective than both of those combined.
Tana was a killer. I had a laugh with Planet Rugby making spoofs of players and Tana was compared to the Predator. And of course he led the team that introduced Kapa o Pango
@@AnAfinityForKarma nah
I think the final one was the very first performance of Kapa o Pango.
Took everyone by surprise! Was so intense and electrified the later minutes which needed something special as the All Blacks returned from South Africa with a loss to the Springboks in Capetown earlier that month.
A hard fought win in Carisbrook was like wrong footing someone in basketball and sinking a basket.
It was cool seeing it live
TJ is my personal fav. Regardless of who you think is best. He looks absolutely possessed and psychotic. And I’m here for it.
The last was the best performance of tana Umaga simple AMAZING cheers from Mérida Venezuela love this haka.
Definitely the last one. It was so intense and full of passion. Anyhow, all performances gives the goosebumps.
Tana Umaga’s Haka was the most special as he was the first non Māori to lead any haka. He is the son of Samoan migrants to New Zealand.
And he looked more maori than any other
@@LucasCaaman nah, tana looks so Samoan what you on about? Piri Weepu def has the most traditional Māori look about him, man's hitting all the facial features
@@rmart9344 His take on the Haka is very magical, goosebump inducing and spine tingling
@@rmart9344 I haven’t watch rugby union in a while so to be honest I couldn’t even tell you.
@rmart9344 it will be Aaron Smith for most of them
Weepu for me. He hits those crazy notes others can't
100%
Fair call, I reckon he is the best leader
We posted a compilation of Weepu’s BEST hakas ever! 👀
ruclips.net/video/RbEvzy6qwV8/видео.htmlsi=c_ZR4XOPVXEQpADn
Perenara for me
Umaga and Messam were awesome but Weepu was always ultimate to me. He just hit the right notes in every way for me.
Liam had the best voice. Piri has the best facial expressions. Tana had the best body expressions.
Liam's voice is terrific
Tanas was the best for me and, of course, the first time Kapo O Pango was done was against us their greatest rivals and fellow goats of rugby the Springboks
I love Peri Weepu doing it as he really encapsulates the Maori look
The third guys voice is my favourite. The back slap moment is awesome
I’d have to agree! 🔥
Mine too! His tone is so piercing and raspy and so eerie. Do you know what's his name?
@@RugbyZone What's his name!?
@@Daniel-ld7xs Liam messum
@@Daniel-ld7xs Liam Messam
Piri Weepu and Tana Umaga were superb. Spine tingling and So passionate.
I must admit, I love All hakas. 🙂
I heard somewhere that they stopped doing the Haka for a while because back in the day (this part I've seen footage of) it was just a bunch of skinny blokes, in a line, prancing around. In the 80s Buck Shelford wanted to reintroduce it and said something along the lines of "If we are going to do it, we are going to do it PROPERLY so we don't look like a bunch of dickheads."
And they still don't do it properly
Piri Weepu And TJ Perenara Are My Favourites To Lead The Haka (Kapa O Pango). I'm South African, Have A Passion For The Haka.
We posted a compilation of Weepu’s BEST hakas ever! 👀
ruclips.net/video/RbEvzy6qwV8/видео.htmlsi=c_ZR4XOPVXEQpADn
Perenara is the best here in my opinion. You feel like the others could be reasoned with, but he has that death stare.. I'm sure he's a nice chap though, if he reads this please don't klill me 😆😆
Maybe a bit late to be starting traditions, but there's a pretty awesome Zulu war dance, it could be crazy to put that on at the start of a game with the All Blacks in South Africa (or Samoa, Tonga, Fiji). Get the whole crowd to do the chant
Always admired how McCaw never seemed to lose eye contact with whoever he chose to stare down during the haka.
What? McCaw would be the last one you'd want to watch doing the haka.
@@pat1589no way...fk he was on.
Piri weepu always brings that hearty mana
Kapa o Pango is always the most intense haka. Very intense.
Tana Umaga, most definitely
My favorite Haka was when Munster fielded 3 New Zealanders against the AB's and countered with their own....Classic!!!
My only criticism of that one was that they both performed the same Haka. The 3 from Munster (who did play for the All Blacks) performed Ka Mate, as they weren't selected when Kapa o Pango was written. The ABs should have countered with that!
I always feel so privileged to get to see the haka performed
Tana Umaga - 2004 v France. No contest.
Put aside any favourite player or Super rugby team biases and there's literally no debate..Piri Weepu is MR HAKA..Unmatched vocal chords, patience, facial expressions and body movements.
Liam Messam 2nd
Tana's one was raw passion which made it its own kind of special, but Piri is the GOAT
Credit to TJ 4 taking up the responsibility and his passion but he honestly didn't have the voice for it
I think that last one with Tana is the first time they performed Kapa o Pango.
Gggggggggggg
It was. That was epic when i first saw the clip back in 2006, sometime after he retired from Test duty.
It was the first and only time against the spring boks. Tana only led it one other time kapa o pango and that was against England
Weepu is best in my opinion
I stand with you
Weepu defs my fav but Umanga literally strikes fear into my soul
Especially at 5:47 … fuck me
The days when the Haka was scary. You can see how the leader inspires the intensity to levels you just don't see today. I love Aaron as a player, but never understood why he is leading the Haka; he is just too nice :) Plus I am not a fan of the triangular formation. Would love to hear the thoughts of Kiwis out there (I'm not).
#1, #4, and #5 were beautiful dances!
Umaga had that incredible intensity that was unrivalled but Piri Weepu is my favourite
All are great.. for me Tana was my favourite. All Blacks ☝🏽
Piri Weepus face always looks intimidating to me so he's the best😂❤
Umaga y Perennara son los que más energía transmiten🤟💪👍
My God it's worth following Rugby just to hear those thigh slaps !!
I guess? 😂
Yep! Liam Messum for me
Piri rocks but this... 5:48 AMAZING!
5:47
TJ is my favorite. Aaron Smith is great, too.
I love the Haka. I started watching some the videos recently and I watch rugby as well now. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN ME? In this video, Haka is performed, but there are different types and different lyrics.
Yes, there are multiple types of haka. If you want to see more, we post a lot on our Instagram & TikTok accounts! 👊

Piri weepu is the best leader. Suaranya bagaikan halilintar menyambar dari atas langit, mengalirkan suatu kekuatan kepada pemain lain
At my wedding we made a Haka. it was unbeliveable. I love Haka
A haka against who?
@@fyoutube9410haka is not just for war, haka can be even for weddings. For funerals, it can be performed in various occasions, there are many Haka, with different lyrics, meanings and purposes
@@marinagiuliarazza6628 So many people don’t realise this. I’m a Kiwi living in Australia, and an Australian was saying he thinks the haka shouldn’t be allowed to be performed before games because it’s just a show of violence, etc. I may be Pākeha, but man, did I (assertively) school him on this topic 😅😂 he had no response, of course.
Magnifique, magique...
Often thought if I was getting off a ship and saw these I’d pull up anchor and scarper
Piri Weepu was insane. 🔥🔥
I miss Rico Gear...he did it awesome too
Respect to all these Kaea, especially to the legend Buck Shelford for bringing the Haka up to the standard we've come to expect.. But Rico Gear was it for me. Dude had the tempo
Bruz the man Rico Gear gotta be in there, pure beast mode intensity.
Holy shit piri is straight up terrifying.
Always liked Umaga and Weepu for leading Haka.

Expect an exceptionally epic one this RWC 2023 Final
Aways great and challenging ❤😮😮
In regards to voice: Piri Weepu
In regards to face&body expression: Tana Umaga
This is true rugby, win or loose
What? It's a Haka, not Rugby
Too good. ❤❤❤❤❤.
I was expecting the red team to sing All the single ladies
5 Piri Weepu
4 Carlos Spencer
3 Zinzan Brooke
2 Taine Randell
1 Wayne Shelford
No puede faltar el mítico haka contra francia cuando casi se toparon de narices....
Piri Weepu and Liam Messam always hit hard!
Tana is the best modern leader but it all leads back to Buck. He revived and elevated the haka to its rightful place. He is the Godfather of all modern ABs haka.
Ka pai to all the Haka performed. It takes a warriors heart to defend our nation. No better than to come from Maori ancestors. 💪🏽
Ah finally a list where no.1 is correct, like there was a choice, Tana was and still is the man.
Carlos Spencer didnt get a mention in the days before they changed the Haka to the current version
3:30 is the best man by far...
so good
I wanna say Tana but has to be Piri Weepu for me..just nails it
Any of Rico Gear's?
Sublime: blessings from the Gods of War!
Carl hayman is underappreciated
I'll go with Carlos Spencer, Rico Gear, Umaga, Aaron Smith
Skipped straight to the end and was delighted to see Tana as no.1, preceded to watch the whole video.
Kapai TJ, Norths Represent... Porirua Proud
Piri weepu is always the best haka leader for me
Taine RANDALL is the best ever Haka leader...
I had to scroll down for this… he is very conspicuously absent from this list. Easily top five, if not the best ever.
Do these teams do this song and dance at every halftime? Or just on special games?
The all blacks always does this before the match itself beginning.
Tana Umaga of course, he lead it like a real warrior and lion, he was in fields of war like an hero in film !
Piri for me, very very close second is TJ. Huge mana.

Rico Gear Kapa O Pango against Australia was one of the best ever!
Tana Umaga the best Haka for my, I'am french and I respect the haka❤❤❤❤❤
Was that against Newport? Wow what a treat
Liam Messam number one
No place for Rico Gear!?!
Agree. He was great.
Umaga's is the most fierce amongst the rest. He looks like the leader of The Predator.
i clicked the the CC thing ...
ARE YOU KIDDING!? Pedi Te Whare IS THE BEST HAKA LEADER OF ALL TIME! NUMBER ONE! NO CONTEST!
Id love to be the camera man! Must be a sight to behold!
Honourable mention .... Norm Hewitt, Ngati Kahungunu.
Always nice seeking Rick roll preforming the haka
Tana Umaga best forever!!
Piri Weepu was pre slick widdit doe 🔥
WOA Hard!~
Check out any Maori All Black HAKA led by Hosea Gear and Maori All Blacks v British and Irish lions as well 💪🏼 pure Mana
🔥🔥🔥
TJ for me🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I got uk football friends to start watching rugby after NZ france final haka
Third one sounds like he’s leading the Uruk-hai to war
Yeah - no contest, bring back The Manga. 💖
Piri is also great l☺️
As a hairy man myself, I approve this message.
As every next Pakeha😉. Rugby is a tremendous sport and Haka makes it even more wonderful. All Blacks forever !!!!
Tj.. the man. All really good though
🙏 #Respect
You know it’s going to be a great match when South Africa is on the other side
