Grandma sends you love and hugs. Your comment was so wonderful and thank you for appreciating the Navajo (Dine') culture. It has become modern in ways but the spirit of it has never changed. Yes we are not always presented properly thus I feel responsible to share this as a real Navajo Grandma. Someone said, get a grant, but they don't give grants to Navajo Grandma's trying to retain, share, preserve, history, teachings, values, foods, and ways to weave, spin, card, etc. They say it is not what they give money for. I say, I am always running low on money making these videos, I, by all means am not rich and now the economy sucks, gas, food prices etc., are rising and I save every penny to make sure you all get the real cultural experience through a real genuine Navajo Grandma. When my husband was seriously injured. I to said a prayer and went back to school. Even though it was difficult. Glad I did because I became the family provider at the age of 25. My husband many times was in the hospital up to four months at a time and we had no family to help us. But with God's help we made it. My children grew up to be great adults. I remember when I would only get up to three hours of sleep. But I did what I had to do to take care of the family.

I live in the Valley, and have not been able to visit my fam on the Rez due to Covid, so therefore your vlogs have been, and are a great source of comfort to me because you are so caring, loving, gentle, very well versed, and a beautiful woman with a big heart. I was close to my maternal grandmother who left us several years back to her heavenly home. In our Dine’ clan system, we are also very blessed to have clan-related family. Navajo Grandma, you know, the other day I was about to stick metal tongs into my instant pot when my twin sister ((who I was video chatting with)) told me to never put metal into something that is plugged into the electrical outlet! Laura, yes we had children the same. My little 5 year old cried one day because he was trying to find his hole in his leg. Remember we needed to watch what we say to our precious children as they do take the words we say literally. Then it took quite a while to teach him about "expressions." Finally he caught on, thank goodness. I heard about it from his elementary school teachers. Imagine if it was in our day now, I would have been jailed. Ha! Oh well, if you make this, I know you will definitely enjoy and your taste buds will thank grandma even if you don't. Hugs to you always. I lost my grandma about 9 years ago, and this video took me right back to being a kid with grandma in the kitchen. She taught me how to make jam and biscuits and we would make them every Saturday morning for the whole family. Thank you for the recipes and the nostalgia, grandma 🥰 hayu masi!

Thank you! I’m a single mom of five trying to finish school and I understand very well how tight money can be when you have many mouths to feed. I’m thankful to hear other women talk about it, it gives me strength when I’m so exhausted.
Sasha, I pray number one that you are getting child support. Back when father's weren't paying and could hide their income thru their friends business subsidiaries like my ex husband did. They started threatening jail time. Then my ex hired a friend of mine who protected him. Both are criminals in my eyes and the filth they kept from the judge and soon I was a woman who was put in the same bracket as the women during that time that sent their husband's to prison. My only desire was the safety, care, health and proper teachings of my little ones, that we had a roof over our head. But some men really become psychotic with hate even though they are the ones who have teared the family apart thru their disgusting behavior and beating on his son for what reason? So I had no money, no lawyer, no nothing. I suffered thru pure ignorance. I was so darn naive' and please do not be. Be wiser than gma was and protect those little ones, feed them, nourish their minds, have the older ones help, have fun with them, never treat them like a chore. You are molding great leaders who are pure, who have a part to play in this life. Protect them from the woke society, the communism now infiltrated in this land and in their schools. Remain strong, as they say, "you are the heartbeat of your home." Pray always, now there is the key, as you have faith, God will help you, bring people to you, guide you, counsel you and give you rest and hope. Soon you won't have that pitter patter and screaming & hollering or any of them around you. And you will be running after them because you are a lone. Never allow that. Women do this. Make every day wonderful with appreciation thru all of their different characteristics and personalities, that they are the most wonderful souls and you are a privileged mother who molds them for God. Hi Alyssa, I appreciate Derricks offer for eggs etc. There are so many who don't have and we can share. I won't be able to pick them up all the time but when I am headed that way for sure I will buy them all. Tell Max and Rafael Grandma loves them with big fat hugs. So precious those two and you two as well. I didn't know you made purses and backpacks out of the flour bags. I will save mine for you. My daughter in law always says she will use them and never does. I will keep them for you. How wonderful. I am so glad your channel came up in my feed. I grew up in Oklahoma, with mostly Kiowa, Comanche and Apache friends. Fry bread / Navajo (or just "Indian") taco dinners were (and likely still are) huge fund raisers at the local churches and schools. To see your beautiful smile and style, while learning to make some of my childhood favorites is such a blessing. Thank you so much! I introduced my wife (from Russia) and step kids to Navajo Tacos using your flawless recipe and technique. It was an absolute hit, and remains true to what I can remember from helping in the school kitchen during our band fund raisers. I watched this so I can use the leftover dough! :D

I've noticed on a lot of 'dumpling' type pastries that water is used to seal it up. I think calzones are just really big dumplings. I've made gyoza, spring rolls and mushroom dumplings. The prep work takes the most time. The variety of ways to cook them adds to the fun. Take care and thank you Navajo Grandma.

Looks Delicious. My wife and i cant Eat fry Bread any longer. We do use the Ingredients you put in your calzone, But we make Gluten free Flour and whole grain flour . And make a waffle type Pizza or calzone. When we don,t have these topping inside. we will put our Blackberries we picked and had frozen, for a topping. We so miss the Fry Bread. Thanks we Loved the Video. We have a can of Pepsi Zero along with our Waffle type Bread. So Delicious. Once in a Blue Moon, we will have Fry Bread.

After learning how to make Your Navajo fry bread I have been playing around with the dough. I have deep fried hotdogs and various Cajun sausages this way. I always call the stuff made Grandma's Navajo hotdogs and sausages. Now I have to try Grandma's Navajo calzones and Pizza. Grandma buy an Asian spider on ebay or amazon. Best item I have found for turning stuff in hot oil. As always thank You so much for being my Teacher on cooking and our Culture. This was fun! It looks yummy. Again, the food seasons itself! I could not figure out how food could be made without having a lot of spices around. You don’t need them. I always bought kielbasa when I had to get a weeks groceries on $20 or less. I did not have children, tho. I love hearing your stories. I don’t know how you managed. Creative, intelligent and strong. That looks tasty! I had a store bought Calzone last week. No taste and not satisfying. Super cool recipe. I could make two and heat the second up for the next day. Hi my sweet Fern, yes you can make this and warm it up the next with your happy ingredients, we don't all like the same thing. My grandkids like only the Kielbasa (you spelled that right) and pepperoni with Mozzarella cheese and they are very happy. So it is your own to create but no matter what, that frybread will make your heart a happy heart and put a happy smile on your face and say like I did, "oh my." I would normally dance and swing my hips knowing what delicious means. My grandkids like to have me eat foods I like cuz it makes grandma dance. Hahaha. This is a tasty one Fern. It is a budget jewel as I fed 7 mouths and then mine, so budget was huge on nothing. I use to to go a yard sale, buy something cheap, clean it up and have another yard sale and jack up the price because it looked 1000% more awesome and worked. Well Joyce, if you really look at some you have to order the Omelet Microwave container, I called it a mold. Sorry. Yes you have to order it from Walmart or other stores, they don't have them on a shelf. They cost around $4 to $7, you have the order sent to the store and pick it up there. It opens up in the shape of the Calzone I made, snaps shut. You can cut off the snap as it will be in the way, then lay your dough with fillers in there then shut it, cut off the pieces hanging out, but first using water to wet the edges to make it pastey, shut it and walla done. It will look better than grandma's. I am going to order another one, mine walked off. Hope this info helped. Sorry I wasn't clearer in the video. Tongue tied they say. Hugs. Navajo Grandma

And occasionally I'll make tuna 🐟, bbq pork or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with frybread. Sometimes I'll top it with honey and powdered sugar, or fruit jelly and powdered sugar. Just like a freshly baked\fried donut. Sweet cream Butter and sugar is good to.

Yes, there are huge tongs that work better than what I used, but I don't want to buy them as I don't always make this and we did okay. Creator helped me to understand that no matter the circumstances that I am who I am. Creator opened my eyes to see the Heyoka in me and that was why I am the way I am.. why I felt called to study the herbs and minerals.. to apply my knowledge.whybim left handed, right brains always backwards and in through the out door 😂. one time.. years ago, there was a person who had a black widow bite. It's like Creator said to me.. cut the top off that onion and tie it to the bite. I did, that onion pulled all that venom and infection right out.. I could tell you so much.. lol. Yes we are not always presented properly thus I feel responsible to share this as a real Navajo Grandma. Someone said, get a grant, but they don't give grants to Navajo Grandma's trying to retain, share, preserve, history, teachings, values, foods, and ways to weave, spin, card, etc. They say it is not what they give money for. I say, I am always running low on money making these videos, I, by all means am not rich and now the economy sucks, gas, food prices etc., are rising and I save every penny to make sure you all get the real cultural experience through a real genuine Navajo Grandma. I pray always that all will be edified, encouraged, feel loved, that they matter when they subscribe to Navajo Grandma's channel. When my husband was seriously injured. I to said a prayer and went back to school. Even though it was difficult. Glad I did because I became the family provider at the age of 25. My husband many times was in the hospital up to four months at a time and we had no family to help us. But with God's help we made it. My children grew up to be great adults. I remember when I would only get up to three hours of sleep. But I did what I had to do to take care of the family.

Laura, yes we had children the same. My little 5 year old cried one day because he was trying to find his hole in his leg. Remember we needed to watch what we say to our precious children as they do take the words we say literally. Then it took quite a while to teach him about "expressions." Finally he caught on, thank goodness. I heard about it from his elementary school teachers. Imagine if it was in our day now, I would have been jailed. Ha! Sasha, I pray number one that you are getting child support. Back when father's weren't paying and could hide their income thru their friends business subsidiaries like my ex husband did. They started threatening jail time. Then my ex hired a friend of mine who protected him. Both are criminals in my eyes and the filth they kept from the judge and soon I was a woman who was put in the same bracket as the women during that time that sent their husband's to prison. My only desire was the safety, care, health and proper teachings of my little ones, that we had a roof over our head. But some men really become psychotic with hate even though they are the ones who have teared the family apart thru their disgusting behavior and beating on his son for what reason? So I had no money, no lawyer, no nothing. I suffered thru pure ignorance. I was so darn naive' and please do not be. Be wiser than gma was and protect those little ones, feed them, nourish their minds, have the older ones help, have fun with them, never treat them like a chore. You are molding great leaders who are pure, who have a part to play in this life. Protect them from the woke society, the communism now infiltrated in this land and in their schools. Remain strong, as they say, "you are the heartbeat of your home." Pray always, now there is the key, as you have faith, God will help you, bring people to you, guide you, counsel you and give you rest and hope. Soon you won't have that pitter patter and screaming & hollering or any of them around you. And you will be running after them because you are a lone. Never allow that. Women do this. Make every day wonderful with appreciation thru all of their different characteristics and personalities, that they are the most wonderful souls and you are a privileged mother who molds them for God. Hi Alyssa, I appreciate Derricks offer for eggs etc. There are so many who don't have and we can share. I won't be able to pick them up all the time but when I am headed that way for sure I will buy them all. Tell Max and Rafael Grandma loves them with big fat hugs. I am so glad your channel came up in my feed. I grew up in Oklahoma, with mostly Kiowa, Comanche and Apache friends. Fry bread / Navajo (or just "Indian") taco dinners were (and likely still are) huge fund raisers at the local churches and schools. To see your beautiful smile and style, while learning to make some of my childhood favorites is such a blessing. Thank you so much! I introduced my wife (from Russia) and step kids to Navajo Tacos using your flawless recipe and technique. It was an absolute hit, and remains true to what I can remember from helping in the school kitchen during our band fund raisers. I watched this so I can use the leftover dough! :D

I've noticed on a lot of 'dumpling' type pastries that water is used to seal it up. I think calzones are just really big dumplings. I've made gyoza, spring rolls and mushroom dumplings. Looks Delicious. My wife and i cant Eat fry Bread any longer. We do use the Ingredients you put in your calzone, But we make Gluten free Flour and whole grain flour . And make a waffle type Pizza or calzone. When we don,t have these topping inside. we will put our Blackberries we picked and had frozen, for a topping. We so miss the Fry Bread. Thanks we Loved the Video. We have a can of Pepsi Zero along with our Waffle type Bread. So Delicious. Once in a Blue Moon, we will have Fry Bread.

After learning how to make Your Navajo fry bread I have been playing around with the dough. I have deep fried hotdogs and various Cajun sausages this way. I always call the stuff made Grandma's Navajo hotdogs and sausages. Now I have to try Grandma's Navajo calzones and Pizza. Grandma buy an Asian spider on ebay or amazon. Best item I have found for turning stuff in hot oil. As always thank You so much for being my Teacher on cooking and our Culture. This was fun! It looks yummy. Again, the food seasons itself! I could not figure out how food could be made without having a lot of spices around. You don’t need them. I always bought kielbasa when I had to get a weeks groceries on $20 or less. I did not have children, tho. I love hearing your stories. I don’t know how you managed. Creative, intelligent and strong. That looks tasty! I had a store bought Calzone last week. No taste and not satisfying. Super cool recipe. I could make two and heat the second up for the next day. Hi my sweet Fern, yes you can make this and warm it up the next with your happy ingredients, we don't all like the same thing. My grandkids like only the Kielbasa (you spelled that right) and pepperoni with Mozzarella cheese and they are very happy. So it is your own to create but no matter what, that frybread will make your heart a happy heart and put a happy smile on your face and say like I did, "oh my." I would normally dance and swing my hips knowing what delicious means. My grandkids like to have me eat foods I like cuz it makes grandma dance. Hahaha. This is a tasty one Fern. It is a budget jewel as I fed 7 mouths and then mine, so budget was huge on nothing. I use to to go a yard sale, buy something cheap, clean it up and have another yard sale and jack up the price because it looked 1000% more awesome and worked. Well Joyce, if you really look at some you have to order the Omelet Microwave container, I called it a mold. Sorry. Yes you have to order it from Walmart or other stores, they don't have them on a shelf. They cost around $4 to $7, you have the order sent to the store and pick it up there. It opens up in the shape of the Calzone I made, snaps shut. You can cut off the snap as it will be in the way, then lay your dough with fillers in there then shut it, cut off the pieces hanging out, but first using water to wet the edges to make it pastey, shut it and walla done. It will look better than grandma's. I am going to order another one, mine walked off. Hope this info helped. Sorry I wasn't clearer in the video. Tongue tied they say. Hugs. Navajo Grandma

I make frybread pizza. Just top a piece of frybread with tomatoe sauce and parmesan cheese. Sometimes mushrooms and sliced black olives. And onion and green pepper if it were available. Excellent when you are far away from any pizza shop, but are craving a slice of pizza. Thanks for sharing again. 💛

Yes, there are huge tongs that work better than what I used, but I don't want to buy them as I don't always make this and we did okay. Creator helped me to understand that no matter the circumstances that I am who I am. Creator opened my eyes to see the Heyoka in me and that was why I am the way I am.. why I felt called to study the herbs and minerals.. to apply my knowledge.whybim left handed, right brains always backwards and in through the out door 😂. one time.. years ago, there was a person who had a black widow bite. It's like Creator said to me.. cut the top off that onion and tie it to the bite. I did, that onion pulled all that venom and infection right out.. I could tell you so much.. lol.
