This is awesome! Tucking also increases the duration of the style. Like you can wash your braids and not worry so much about frizzies and flyaways if the hair is tucked.
I appreciate you posting this! My daughter (mixed) is now asked me for some box braids. I've learned how to braid her hair over time but now this is a new skillI need to learn♥️ Much respect to all the African-American and black women out there as I now see that maintaining hair is 100% different than maintaining my own. It's a process that I'm here for so my child can learn to do her own hair one day with confidence!
Much respect momma, keep practicing and you’ll get it down. I’m so happy to know you’re taking the effort and knowing that your beautiful daughter hair on her head in her crown.
I'm a beginner with box braids and practice on my daughter's head! She wants color this time and I didn't know about hiding the natural hair just thought it was normal to see the natural so this was right on time!!
Let me just say…I’ve watched other RUclipsrs on how to braid and nothing clicked until I watch this video here on how to tuck. You went slow and I was able to see how you started off braiding which made my life a lot easier. Thank you so much
girl this is also taking up more time to keep adjusting the tucking and some people dont have patience for that and then wanna blame the braider for taking a day or two. aint nothing wrong with 1 tone color
Yes it's nice and neat,. I would like to see this done in real time on a client. Because that one strand took way to long to get tucked, getting braids is hrs already plus a added three plus min per braid.
I know you posted this video a while ago but let me just say….. you are my hero!! My daughter is mixed and wants to mix up her hair styles, specifically box braids. I have felt AWFUL because I know NOTHING about mixed hair, or any hair texture that isn’t mine. When I found a place who can actually do this style hair (I’m in Oregon), they wanted to charge me $350-$400. Sooooo, I’m just teaching myself! I tried box braids and it went fairly well the first time, I used the rubber and method and would just prefer to not. But her poor ends were all sorts of our and all over the place!!! This video is a god send. So thank you!! I’m learning all the time :-)
I have watched many 'braiding hair tutorial'; and i must state that your way is MAGNIFICENT! - I can't wait to try this technique of yours; thank you so much for sharing this video.
Like honestly I always thought to myself if there was a way that the natural hair could be hidden and this is really some amazing patience, but really love it 🥰💯❣️
I just learned how to weave hair 5 days ago and since I have a hair that's half black half blonde this really helps. For all y'all who are struggling put this video on 0.5 then go at it im tellin you. try it out
Yes cause i used to put gel on the natural hair when i was like 16 n people used to ask how i got my hair tucked so good. It was harder cause i had to grip more so it would not slide. Making my fingers tired quicker. The jam and edge control done revolutionized braiding techniques.
I clicked this because I was quite intrigued by the thumbnail. I have to say this is the most patient client, in life. I will try this when I have the time. Well done though, you are so very talented. Love from London 🤎
Wooow, that technique is incredible! I’ve been wondering how to do that because I’ve wanted to try it. Getting ready to get started now! I appreciate this video, thank you for posting it.
I am doing my daughters hair tomorrow… and even though “hiding the color” isn’t an issue for what we are doing… I am so glad I clicked this video anyway… this is hands down the best explanation of how to start and knotless braid out there… so much more simple and easy to understand then other videos I’ve watched!!!!! 🙏🏼 Thank you soooooooo much for making this… there were so many details that were super helpful… even if your not looking to achieve “hiding” the natural hair color… 🖤💜🖤💜🖤 Just beautifully simple, understandable, efficient.
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this! I don't know how the idea for this never crossed my mind but thank the braid gods for you and your mind. Haha my birthday is coming and I am in love with this light grayish iridescent rainbow unicorn hair I saw but my natural hair is so dark it would not do that hair justice!! I'm scared but excited at the same time to try this. Thank you so much!🥰😊
thank you princess I am struggling how to grind box braids to plot it's not a problem but to grip it so thank you so much for the video it really helps 👍
You should have about 200k subscribers right now , literally on your way to the top because this video and the other ones I’ve watched from you is super informative!
Ooh my God! You are one of the patient kind heart I have seen on RUclips. How you went so so low and show it on details. Thank you! But I won't be that patient to do this. You are amaziiiiiiiiiiing!🥰
Amazing! 🤯 literally blown away! I wish I had the patience to do this but I have none. I only braid my own hair once a year because I lack patience (I’m a wig gyal). I think this method would be extremely challenging for me on my own head. Loved this video though!
Oh my god, sis THANK YOU! I was so tired of my black hair peeking through the blonde braiding hair🥹 now i can go „fully blonde“ haha perfect thank you❣️
Thank you for the tutorial. I have a 9 year old who wants to start wearing weave in her hair. So this was a great visual. I already know how to braid but now with weave. So I’m learning so I can keep her up with the new styles and not pay an arm and leg. 🥰🥰
This is awesome! Tucking also increases the duration of the style. Like you can wash your braids and not worry so much about frizzies and flyaways if the hair is tucked.
Wow this makes so much sense
I watch this video every month hoping one day it'll click 😭
@@lenaely6146 evidently not?
@@lenaely6146 I think they meant actually doing it not the complexity of it
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just watched this 4 times 🤣🤣😆😆
Girl... Exactly lol... Now I just watch out of admiration, hopes, and dreams.

Shout out to you for making a effort to learn! I know she appreciates it 🥰
That’s cool
You're sucha sweet soul, you got this !! Small steps at a time, a lot of mothers don't even try, sending love and wishing luck. 💗💗
Much respect momma, keep practicing and you’ll get it down. I’m so happy to know you’re taking the effort and knowing that your beautiful daughter hair on her head in her crown.
Kudos to you! You got it momma 👊🏾
I appreciate how detailed and slow you actually did this. Shows that you are actually trying help and teach. Thank you so much for the gems Diamond♥️
No problem! Glad it helped!

Proud of you baby!🤍
Well done sweetie!
i admire you💙
It’s rlly crazy how much skill and time ppl actually put into this before actually doing a clients hair
I was today years old when I heard about tucking & this detailed video has made me understand it more, I love it. It’s easy, just timer consuming
I'm a beginner with box braids and practice on my daughter's head! She wants color this time and I didn't know about hiding the natural hair just thought it was normal to see the natural so this was right on time!!
As great as this was, there’s no way I could do them that precise on the back of my own head.x
You know I think the natural color peekin through gives the style some….character lol because chile my patience has not developed
Right🤣🤣🤣
Hilarious 😆. Let’s go for character
A
🤣🤣🤣 I felt the same, like this is cute but I'll just like my hair mix with the color or buy black hair
😂😂😂😂😂
Let me just say…I’ve watched other RUclipsrs on how to braid and nothing clicked until I watch this video here on how to tuck. You went slow and I was able to see how you started off braiding which made my life a lot easier. Thank you so much
I’m not that patient 😩 it’s so neat tho

I swear i was becoming impatient just by watching
Yes it's nice and neat,. I would like to see this done in real time on a client. Because that one strand took way to long to get tucked, getting braids is hrs already plus a added three plus min per braid.

Can you do this with knotless braids?
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this! I don't know how the idea for this never crossed my mind but thank the braid gods for you and your mind. So so helpful!!! Thanks so much!!!! Trying to do a rainbow hair style love it
It’s beautiful! But I prefer the one with the natural hair peeking through. I like the mix.
You loss me after you crossed the hair, then switched your position of your hands before installing. Your so talented.
I love the second way of adding the braid
It’s the music for me lol love it
I do too!❤
thank you princess I am struggling how to grind box braids to plot it's not a problem but to grip it so thank you so much for the video it really helps 👍

If I had to braid like this I will probably finish braiding next year
Can I use the same method with twist ?
When you braiding your own hair and it's at back where you can't see.
Idk my arms and patience will come back toned

Is the shine and jam drying or harsh on the natural hair during take down?
This was a great tutorial! Thank you. I’m gonna attempt it this weekend.
Thank you for the tutorial. I have a 9 year old who wants to start wearing weave in her hair. So this was a great visual. I already know how to braid but now with weave. So I’m learning so I can keep her up with the new styles and not pay an arm and leg. 🥰🥰

I will learn this! I hate the hair color peeking out
Great tutorial love! 💕
Thank you Missy😊 Now I know the secret, lol. My daughter’s natural hair gets frizzy to quick and cutting all those strays is time consuming 🤣
This was so helpful sis ❤️
Forreal
Thank you so much! 😍 I will try on myself as well. Have a good day!
Wow thank you ❤
can you still do this over pre-braided sections?
Tucking it looks better on my opinion but when you dont tuck, you can see where your hair ends. This video was very informational
Very easy to follow. Well be practicing again
Thank you for the feedback. Glad it was!
Very detailed. Super easy to follow
does this take longer to do and do you charge extra to tuck?
Amazing simple explanation. Ty
Thank you so much for sharing this. 💕
Great video! Straight to the point
