Great advice .......All the above... clear early before 15ft and blow gently all the day down clear a long time before the cold water hits you

Thanks Ivory. I agree one of the best things you can do is to start clearing early - and all the way down. Appreciate the input.

If your ears hurt, you've waited too long to start equalizing. Go up to reduce pressure so you can start equalizing again. If you can't equalize, go up some more. If there's too much pressure on your ears, you won't be able to push air through your Eustachian tube. If you keep descending despite not being able to equalize, you'll rupture your eardrums.
Start equalizing as soon as you go underwater, and keep equalizing whenever you descend.

Great input. Really appreciate it. I think some people feel pressure to try and get down quickly - which is the worst thing they can do if they feel pain - as you point out. Thanks again.

I have an D option, which is to remove your mask, the water column then compress the air space inside your nose which helps to compress the air in the Euthesian Tube, if I spell it correctly, then eventually pop the ear drum. Try it and tell me if it works.

Valsalva alone doesn't work for me at all, but Valsalva + swallowing + slow descent have never failed. I will try your other tips to see if I can speedup descent - it's not a big problem, but it's annoying to hold the group a for minute or two on every dive until I equalize.

I know it can be frustrating. Glad you have something that works for you. I hope the other tips will let you get down quicker. Please let me know how it goes. Good luck! 🤞

Excellent video thank you ma'am! I'd like to add chewing a menthol gum and or breath mint to open you up in addition to descending feet first vs headfirst.
