- In this 2 part video series I will machine 4 clones of the popular Eagle 66 pump oil can. One of these will be for myself and the other 3 will be gifts for my brothers-in-law for Christmas 2016. The plans used to machine these oil cans can be found at: hobby-machinist...
Lee, I really appreciate the way you give time to get a look at the plans on screen, and tell us where to follow along in the actual plans (and where to get the plans!). Please don't stop doing that when it's an option. Thanks!!
This was my first project where I had a "real" set of plans to go by. Should I have another with plans, I'll definitely use the same format for my video. Thanks for stopping by.
Nice project and the video was very well done! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Wow - that's a lot of parts. Super job Lee - you should be well pleased.
Thanks Chris - I really enjoyed this build.
Great Video Lee, I saved it so I can reference it when I try to build one. All the Part numbers will really be handy also. I really appreciate you taking the time to show how to build it. They will make Great Christmas Presents.👍

Excellent project. Thanks for sharing and let us know how the BNLaws like their cans. Thanks for all the videos that you put up. I am a 45 y/o Machining student and I love to get the perspectives that you, more experienced, guys are willing to share with these projects. Keep on Turning!

Gday Lee, I just started building the same oil can, thanks for the detailed video, I’ll have to make a few changes because of material and tooling but I think it will be just fine, great series mate, much appreciated, take car, Matty

Nice two part series.
Thanks
Beautifully done. Would not mind making one of these
It would be interesting to see a video series on the design process and making the drawings.
Yes, it would be. According to the person that published these on Hobby Machinist he lost them in a hard drive crash, so what I used is probably all there'll ever be.
very nice project well done and thanks for sharing .
Hmm, we're close enough to be "relatives" right? Speaking of - when are you guys going to pay a visit to the shop?
Some lucky folks getting these as gifts, sir. Well done.
Sincerely,
Tom Z
Thanks! We'll get there one day, I promise. :-)
Very good, much enjoyed....

Thanks
beautiful build...
Great job!
Thanks!
Fine work sir.
Very nice job!
5 years later, I wonder if your cans are still going strong ?
You can not buy a reasonable price oil can that does not leak and make a mess when you put it away after use.
So I am going to make one like yours.
Wish me luck.
I made these 4 for myself & my 3 brothers in law. 2 of them have since passed away and the 3rd is suffering from dementia to the point he’s not able to leave his house. I still use mine.
Lee I am gona make 2 of these . One for me and one for my brothers birthday in November. I love that Collet Chuck. Where did you get it and is there a part number? Thanks Terry.
Nice work Lee. What angle did you take for the trigger button?
BuggieChief I just used my 45 degree chamfering tool.
Sell me one pls ? I bought some reilang Oilers but these are beautiful.
Hi,
You hold your collet chuck in the 3 jaws chuck...?
Is it OK with runout, stability etc ?
Thanks for this nice tutorial !
Eddy Fontaine Actually it's in the 4 jaw &worked great. I've since machined a mounting plate for the collet Chuck, but when I did this project, I had just bought the collet Chuck & wanted to put it to use.
Do you make any to sale?
on this group's website, the hobby machinist ,there's the drawing of this oil pump, I'm not able to open it because I recently registered, would anyone have the drawing to send me? I'm from Brazil
congratulations great job
could you send me the drawings in pdf
