I have the Cambridge audio cxc and the audiolab 6000 cdt, and they are both fantastic cd transports. If I had to sell one it would be the cxc, just !!!.
I have the CA CXC and it sounds tremendous but if the cds aren't in stellar condition it tends to skip. I got the 6000CDT last week to complement it and everything I've put in plays back flawlessly, absolutely love this transport.
Hey chris if possible use the Coaxial spdif output instead of toslink , I noticed a little bit better differences in sound performace (richness) less glare I talked to audiolab a couple weeks ago when they sent me the Omnia to review and I asked them why does the Coaxial ouput sound better he replied we have a higher quality driver output stage with Coaxial I said why isn't this mentioned no where ?!?!? Well audiolab figured Audiophiles would try both ?!?!?
@@chrisbarlow4356 I would of popped the hood and show on video the insides but the screws are so small T-7 and their easy to strip out I went threw this with the 6000a integrated amp i barley got the last screw out ! Yeah i would always reccomend to try both digital outputs. On my systems the Toslink has just a little bit more glare vs Coaxial awesome transport i bought 2 black and silver
Thanks a lot for the detailed review! It's great that you show the build and the user experience of the device! That's something no other channel on RUclips really does.
Got Chasity ? 😆 U.K. be building kickass HiFi Audio !! Great job Audiolab ! Things i 4got to say theirs a button to turn the Oled screen off while playing ! Also say good by to what i call Diginitis' With the Audiolab6000CDT 😆 Also if your interested in the Audiolab6000CDT Please check out. Some other reviewers who also reviewed the Audiolab6000CDT !! Terry from Pursuit of the perfect system And Mr.Ruby The Audiophile man who both are utube audio reviewers who also reviewed The Audiolab6000CDT 😆
I pulled the trigger on the SA3/PA3 combo and have never looked back. One of the smartest decisions I have ever made in my pursuit of great sound at prices I can afford. I did the SA3 first, then after deciding on some new speakers (87DB @8ohms, close out special from GR Research) I snagged the PA3. Speaker cables from Blue Jean Cables, and the Audiolab 6000CDT. The SA3 has a great DAC which saves on some money, AND contributes to great audio. The CDT has a 'solid' feel and no top cover openings which helps keep dust out of the unit. I much prefer the solid feel to the loading mechanism compared to a flimsy tray moving in and out. Use a quality stand/base for the CDT and it will pay you back with even more musical joy! I have $5,000.00 (total) in my audio rig, not including room treatments. That is my point of diminishing return. I would have to spend thousands more to get a little improvement. I now have my last audio rig ever. (Did I really say that? What about that subwoofer I was thinking about? Lol.)
I hooked up the 130.00US dac the Topping e30 to the sa3 and dam the top end is held together very good ! Imho its a lil better than the built in dac of the sa3 the Iotavx is hell of badass!
Just got mine yesterday. Love it. The sound is much better then streaming. Have it hooked to a Topping D 90. Enjoying my CD collection. Get one you won’t regret it. My best. Dan. Albuquerque
Yeah the 6000a is great for pricepoint i mean dag on its great ! yeah i have a?dozen dacs my Burson composer 3x is my reference dac and I use 4x dual discrete Sparkos SS3602 op-amps Dac amazes me me end game 😃 But Apos was 'suppose' to send me the D90 on loan for review but ohhh well I buy 95 percent of what i review 😃
“Right at the eeeeend” and “this is built like a tenk, (you all? ?y’all). I am watching this from England and I have never heard such a sweet sounding US dialect. Out of cultural interest, where were you brought up please? When I was a child i watched, for a short while, a TV series called North South, based on the US civil war and your dialect seems very Southern. Sounds exotic and it’s stimulating for someone from the UK where we probably sound quite neutral-flat-boring, to hear the inflections and vowel changes. Aside, your review was passionate and detailed. Thank you Tee-Jay.
😆 I get commemts like this all the time I live in the Hills of Kentucky . During civil war we was a confederate state but then we over threw the fort and became a netural State .
@chrisdavies2654 love thr 7000cdt it's as good as the flagship 9000cdt I can barley hear difference on system costing 8-10k mote Reveling setups 'but my hifi under 5k 7000cdt just as good '
That Audiolab transport is a sweet unit. I have yet to find a cd in my collection that skips, and it sounds mighty good hooked up to my topping d90 dac feeding polk lsims 703's. Very happy with it.
Hi Tee-Jay! Great review sir. Truly enjoyed your video. I trust your reviews/opinions on audio equipment. Also, a nice selection of CDs with a variety of artists and groups. I am sorry to hear that you lost your job due to the pandemic (seen this in one of the comments). I am sure you will be called back to work soon. Hang in there, things will get better. Thanks for the video! Best regards, Brian.
Thanks Brian , I was going to let everyone know about my job in a future video , because half the products i review i actually buy , So hopefully something good happens for me 😆
Great review. I am just getting back into playing CD's (Have an old Panasonic CD player) and want to set up a system. Have a lot to learn before doing this, however. Your information was very helpful. Subscribed.
Great video Tee-Jay, I was waiting for your review. I’m very tempted to try one out. Last weekend I was switching between a Bluray player and a CD player from the 90s, both as transports. I did notice a subtle difference between the two. Since many reviewers are raving about this transport over other players, I’m really interested. The standalone transport and read ahead function really has me interested. Sorry to hear you lost your job and you look like you may have a cold to, hope things pick up for you soon. Take care and thanks for a great review.
Thanks Shahid ! Appricate that buddy , i will pull threw with a new job soon , its tuff though, i did love working on robots and multimillion dollar machines all night !
Thanks TJ. Works good with IOTAVX stack. I compared with the Cambridge. I thought Cambridge had slightly better bass but I went with Audiolab as it was less fussy reading old silver disks
I got one to test out myself. It's great. One small tip, you must run in the player for 2~3 days non-stop to get the best SQ. It is amazing and beats almost all sources in my system, i.e. Oppo Sonica DAC, ATC 40 speaker
Yeah I atleast put a 100hrs on audio before the review , I actually hit the repeat selection and let it play for a couple of days to make sure it holds up and it has / I also got the Integrated amp in the A6000 i left it on for over 2 weeks to my home theater set up to test reliability Audiolab makes some good audio !
Ok Tee Jay, I just ordered the CDT 6000. You got me the JBL 530s The Emotiva PT 100 Can get serious about a Dac next. My final speakers will be Ohm Walsh, I'm am having fun upgrading after 22 years.
Great video Sir, very informative and unlike a couple of others out there, shows it being used, how easily the CDs go in etc etc. Bought one on the strength of this and another RUclips video, not disappointed. I run mine into a PS Audio Directstream Dac, and it steps up to the plate sounding great. Sounds better than my heavily modded Oppo 203 playing into the same Dac over i2s, so the Audiolab doesn’t let the team down, even on more pricey Dacs. Good job man, subbed.
A very detailed, comprehensive lecture, and fine demonstration, Tee-Jay. Thumbs up. Although I listen to vinyl records on 1 of my 2 turntables, I listen to playback after the early 1990s music on a Compact Disc. I should have bought a CD Transport, most likely the Audiolab 6000CDT CD Transport! I'm a bit of a miser, so I bought at least 2 different CD Players that I can connect as a CD TRANSPORT. I'm very impressed; and that this Audiolab 6000CDT has a Toroidal Transformer. Not many CD Players, or hi fi audio equipment have such a toroidal transformer. Instead I bought at least another CD Player that I could use as another CD Transport; I have collected up to 4 different CD Players, 3 brands for now, and up to three different interconnect connections. I did so for experimentation, tests, and obviously for musical playback. Sony CDP-CE215 bought at the end of 1998, connected with RCA L, R interconnect. Marantz SACD/DVD Player DV6400 (of Dec. 2003) connected with Coax RCA Cable. Sony CDP-970 (manufacture date April 1989) to be connected to digital optical output with a Toslink Cable. I got stuck with a Denon DN-600F (1998) at auction; it is also connected with traditional RCA L, R Cable. All four CD Players are connected to my Sony AV Receiver DH520 85W (bought in 2012) that I only use for hi fi audio. However, the CD Tray of an AMC CD-6 (1992) won't open. I was to connect at least one CD Player as a CD Transport by way of digital cable. By the way, up here in Canada that CD Transport is a bit more. Anyhow, maybe later I'll buy an Audiolab 6000CDT.🔉🎵🎶
The AMC cdp should just be a built gone bad they make good players its funny how all them players you talk about i know them all 😆yeah i thought about buying the Cambridge CXC v2 for a comparrsion vs Audiolab cdt 6000
Hey Tee-Jay, I received my Audiolab 6000CDT today! I hooked it up to my Brooklyn DAC+ to replace a 1990 CD player I was using as a transport. The sound improvement is amazing. Much better soundstage. Thanks to YOU and the Audiophile Man I ended up buying a top notch CD transport. Thanks a bunch Tee-Jay👍👍
I made a mistake ! The Audiolab weighs 11.9 pounds not 16 pounds sorry for that ! Still nice hefty player that i have ran constantly for 4-5 days at a time on repeat mode its a solid choice with very good build quality ! Thanks for viewer or subscriber for pointing out my mistakes !
@@JamesSmith-qy3eu I've got the Audiolab 6000CDT, what can I say? It's everything the reviews say it is. The best musical sounding I have heard CD's sound, ever. It's an unbelievably natural sound, so organic, unforced and effortless .
I also love hearing stories of how 'streamers'/arrogant new tech heads (usually millenials) try a good CD setup and get blown away! Rumours of the demise of the CD have been greatly exaggerated lol
Your welcome Kevin , Thanks for the comment 😃 The A.L. 6000cdt sounds wonderful Kevin For the money , and you can keep upgrading with an outboard dac , It has a 200va toridal transformer built inside , thats actually pretty big Basically a very nice power supply , Glad companys are still building these cd transports 😃
I'm an advocate of buying seperate units that isolate specific tasks( Transporting, converting etc) as you've demonstrated you can end up getting a better deal this way than forking out for a fully featured unit. I'm in Scotland. In the UK we have great dacs available from budget level and above. The Cambridge dacmagic 100 is a very popular example. I've never seen a digital transport like this audiolab though (I use standard bluray player) Thanks for an interesting demo.
Your welcome . I have a friend thats from Scotland ! ! I'm actually double Irish So you know me and my buddy i call him Scotty 😆until another Scotty started working with us .
I have this in my PS Audio system and it has worked virtually flawlessly; I would highly recommend it. The only negative I have discovered is that it is sensitive to vibration, such as walking across the floor in close proximity. I purchased four Isoacoustics pucks to support it and have had no more issues. Short of that, one has to walk softly while playing a disc.
Thank you Tee-Jay. I was seriously thinking about purchasing one of these units before seeing your excellent (down to earth) review. You have confirmed everything good I have heard about this unit but with an added perspective on the quality build and construction. It's exciting to know that there is a product such as this unit that can truly make a difference you can hear. I plan on teaming this beauty up with a Schiit Bifrost or Denifrips Aries 2. Should be quite a superb combo like a good quarter back and wide receiver. Thanks buddy... Charles, Canada
Yes it is nice to see a company still building transports on this level at this price ! 16 pound Sherman Tank ! If you look on my cumminity page pics , I could not send back on its loan/lease agreement for review, so i bought it 😆 And over 33 years i have owned cd players from Marantz cd94 with TDA1541 dac chip , Pioneer elite PD65/71 Arcam 37 with dual wolfson Dac chips which i bought used in 2010 great player but it didn't dig into the details like the Audiolab6000CDT pared with a budget dacs , I would love for you to comment on your test drive of the silver disk player , you'll be able to Say goodbye to Diginitis with your cds ! 😆
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 I'll be sure to let you know. I too have owned my share of CDP's. Just a couple of days ago my Sherwood of 18 years died. I was using it strictly as a transport into a Schiit Modi 3 but that set up was interim because I knew I had my goals set to up-grade. I also own a Classe CDP 102 ($4500.00 Cdn plus tax) OUCH!! Yup it died too but considering it's age I know a Schiit Dac with a decent transport will, although considerably cheaper, be the ticket so to speak. It seems that audio equipment with moving parts (CDPs) have a definite lifespan so here's hoping the "Sherman Tank" is just that and has a long life. Cheers, Tee-Jay!!!!!!!!!!!!
Appricate your comment , yiur going to love that Oled screen ! I'm half blind and can see it clearly ! Nice power cable comes with it also its thick and 3 prong ! Yeah its a keeped for me ! Because of the Audiolab i am now working on my 2nd ever BUDGET-FI-BANDIT video ! ! 😆
I mainly rip CD’s into iTunes, and transfer my digital files onto my iPhone 8, and plug my phone into my amp via a front AV analog input, with the Audioquest DragonFly Black DAC. I find that sounds much better than CD’s. I do put that down to my Denon DVD player that I’m using as a CD transport, it’s not as detailed as my iPhone and DAC. I think the Audiolab CD transport would sound much much better though. Might have to be something to consider, once I get an Audiolab 6000A integrated amplifier!
I know what your talking about , My dang ifi Zen blue bluetooth reciever, almost sounded as good as my budget cd players playing the silver disk up to hood recordings but not great recordings ! thats when i knew something was wrong and yeah it was basically my budget cd/dvd/bluray players not sounding so good , but once i got in this newer digital transport yeah the difference is on another level . My Cds sound great again ! Without breaking the bank on exspensive cd players 😆
Tee-Jay The Stereo-Bargain-File I looked on the Denis White Hifi website where I got my Dynaudio Emit M20’s from, because I know they are an Audiolab dealer. They have the CD transport, and it’s $999.00 here in Australia. But I guess with the USD to AUD conversion, it isn’t too bad. And the fact that this CD transport has a chunky toroidal transformer alone is enough to say that this piece of audio screams quality!
Nice review its really tempted me to buy one, also a big thumbs up for the Yamaha amplifier in the background, For a track which sounds great to try on CD, try the Santana album - Supernatural and the track 'Migra' its loads of great sounds and instruments, but then I just noticed I am about 5 months late, nevermind.
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks for the reply, I ended listening to whole album last night, its got some great tracks on it and sounds soo good.
Thank you that means alot ! Will you order me a black cdt6000 also 😃 just messing with ya, solid transport for real , I am going to order a black one also for my bedroom . Audio advisor and Crutchfield both have these in stock both awesome companies the distributor I review audiolab gear for sales to these Companys so in a odd way it helps the awesome distributor out thats kind enough to loan/lease their audio gear to Reviewers 😃 Yeah I had to buy the one they sent me on loan couldn't let it go back . let me know how you like the cdt once you get time spent with it 😃

@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 you know, I went and ordered a 300cdt, hooked it up and played a few discs for about 4 days. Something was missing: the crispness, the separation, the engaged feeling that my CXC gave me. Sent the 6000cdt back and ordered a CXC version 2. Got it and started playing discs, and said “Ah! There’s what I was missing!” Maybe I was used to the Cambridge sound, should it have made a big difference, can’t say. But it’s staying.
Your video is great. Here are some questions: 1. Can Audiolab 6000CDT read SACD disc? I have a collection of SACDs and would like to take advantage of it. I thought I would get a Denafrips Ares2 DAC that reads DSD files. 2. Can we simply "transport" the digital signal from the SACD disc to a DAC decoding DSD, which the Denafrips Ares2 does? Thanks for the answer.
I've been considering the CDT6000 for a while and after watching great reviews, including yours, I've decided to get it. Not sure where your at with having a transport, but right now Crutchfield, has them for around $470 clearance price. I'll be using mine with a Geshelli JS2 dac with a Sparkos opamp on the rca outputs. I've got gear for sale to pay for this new stuff 🙄
I have a question. You missed one point. How about reading CDs? I returned the Cambridge Audio AXC35 a week ago because it wouldn't play some CDs or had hiccups in the middle of the track. The same discs played without any problems in my old Pioneer.
Hey Tee-Jay, thanks for all your work on the reviews!! I finally pulled the trigger on the Audiolab 6000a and the Wharfedale Lintons and I freakin love the synergy! I just ordered the cdt because I too love spinning the silver discs:) One question, should I go with the coaxial connection over the toslink? Thanks and keep up the good work👍🏻!
Comments like this for real keep me going as far as coax or Toshiba's link I would try both to see what sounds best to you personally on my reference system i use a cheap Audioquest Cinnimon coax cable i also have Audioquest pearl toslink you can hook both up at the same time and A/B test to hear what you like best thats most important 😃

Most amplifiers today has onboard dac's, so lets use them! What will happen if you connect the audiolab transport with the dac of lets say yamaha a-s701 with wharfedale 225's.The sound will be improved in what way?More analytical sound, sometimes is fatiguing.I can not tolerate shrill/bright highs and upper mids and i love strong/deep bass and sweet mids. Why spend more money (for external dac and cables) when you allready have one....Do you think that audiolab 6000 cdt is a sweet sound player without "sharp peaks" like most modern players?
Yes. Im using the psaudio sprout 100 on board dac. Sounds amazing with the Cambridge cxc v2. For your speakers, i highly doubt there would be any bright sound. Those are very chill speakers.
@@justanotheryoutubeuser5029 Thanks. In your answer you refer to audiolab?Between audiolab and cambridge, people say that the audiolab is more sweet sounding. Do you agree with this?
@@andreassouth1523 i do. I own the Cambridge cxc but got the chance to hear the audiolab. I would say i prefer the audiolab over the cxc but it just didn’t make sense to me have 2 cd transports. Hey Tee-Jay, great review! Have you guys try to compare the 6000cdt with a PC based system playing flac files ? In other words, the old question : CD's or FLAC ?
Very reliable but every once in awhile it would scratch a cd ' didn't do that the 1st 2 years ' reason they came out with 7000cdt thats great ! ! I even bought 2 of the 6000cdt but sold them both !
Is it a good idea to upgrade the power cord on a cd player and/or DAC like it is with amplifiers? Secondary question, Is there a general rule for placement/separate digital components from analog components? I have a audio rack...turntable on top, followed by sa3/pa3 and wanted a cd player/DAC for the third shelf. Or is it a rule not to plug in your digital components in the same outlet as your analog. Great review. Thank you.
Thanks for the review. I have been wondering if folks have felt the need to clean the laser lens on this unit once it's had a bit of use, and how you would go about that job.
Awesome ??? Yes i have 1000s of hours on this Teansport i liked it so much i bought a black one also ! My community post has the pics and to clean the laser you would have to open unit up of course maybe in the future i can do this 😃

Its a solid 12 pounder built right and very dependable!
Slight correction : someone with your collection of CD players and transports must surely have encountered CDPs that have digital outputs as well as the usual analog out ? It's one of the big selling points as you move up the line for Cambridge, Marantz and others. Whether said players function well as transports is a question for someone else - I did use my Marantz SA-14S1 and my Oppo BDP-105D as transports some years back but audio memory is fleeting at best.
That marantz is?a beast ! I would like to have that one i actually bought 2 cdt6000 that a run to my Burson composer dac and ohhh my !! 😆 That Marantz is very nice i would like to have one
Great review! Really tempted to buy one. Just one question: does it support gapless playing? Like on Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side Of The Moon”, where tracks fade one into the other, does this CDT puts a 1 second (or less) silence gap between tracks? Thanks!
No response probably means it doesn't support gapless playing. I was close to purchase this CDT, but during watching and reading several reviews I did not find a clear confirmation it supports gapless playing.
Did you ever see scratches on your discs after using them in this slot-loader? I've read complaints elsewhere and wonder whether you've had similar issues.
Hey Bill I have personally nevef seen any scratches on my Cds some are very exspensive cds but I have had about 2-3 people tell me that they have gotten scratches on their cds I told them to send it back something could of been put together wrong or slight damage when shipping I know a lot of people who own this player, and they have never had a problems i actually bought a black one also 😆 But yeah if its scratching your cds send it back Audiolab will take care of ya
I just got a denon cd player in for review and the shipping box wad damaged to make a long story short i had to recalibrate the cd mech but not Denons fault i dont know why cd players can be finky when shipping or more prone to getting damaged compared to speakers and amps

Sorry my previous post got truncated. I am very impressed with the Audiolab 6000 CDT and was about to add it to my system. I’m using an Iotavx stack. I recently emailed Ian Vermeulen about his plans for a CD player/transport. He tells me they will release their CD in March 2021 so I will wait to see those specs. They will have to up their game to beat the Audiolab features and price.
Ian did not mention a streamer, but I only asked him specifically about a CD transport. He may well have something else in the pipeline. He definitely stated a CD would be out in March.
Im not in the market to but a cd transport but i am looking for a cd, dvd, or blueray player. What are some specs and features you look for? Like your pioneer dvd player. Why do you like that unit so much?
In a blueray player I look for a good built in dac and rca outputs and atleast 2 digital outputs The Yamaha Adventage 1060 looks very good for a blueray player even has balanced outputs this Audiolab is a pure cd transport it only had a digital output to run to an outboard dac very good so good i bought it 😃
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 I've been reading some mixed complaints from some users though not all.. That the front slot loader has a tendency to put faint hair line scratches on the discs.....are you seeing that happening on your unit?....

@@roberthart9886 yeah i have seen them for $699.00 now they Audiolab held out as long as they could, many companies have went up in price my Marantz PM 8006 I bought and just reviewed is up to 1500.00 US now the Pm8006 use to be $1200 US new I have talked to Distrubution/audio companies and basically they had no choice but to raise prices due to shipping and material costing more 😥
If you want to be cheap, have an XBox One with an optical out laying around doing nothing, it makes a great CD transport. Just as good as the overprices junk presented on this video.

CDPs are far from dead, if anything they're alive and well especially in Japan where a new generation of disc players is guaranteed to come out every few years from the likes of Denon, Yamaha, Esoteric, Luxman, you name it.
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Go for it! There're lots of MQA CDs on offer now and more are coming out, so things look very promising. One of the MQA CD players that's caught my attention of late has gotta be the Luxman D-03x. I've read some rave reviews of it and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Yes it's red book only, but at a fraction of the price of the flagship model D-10x which also plays SACDs, it's a bargain.

I have the Cambridge audio cxc and the audiolab 6000 cdt, and they are both fantastic cd transports. If I had to sell one it would be the cxc, just !!!.
Thank you for the comment ! Thats what this channel is all about audio 😆
I have the CA CXC and it sounds tremendous but if the cds aren't in stellar condition it tends to skip. I got the 6000CDT last week to complement it and everything I've put in plays back flawlessly, absolutely love this transport.
Hey chris if possible use the Coaxial spdif output instead of toslink , I noticed a little bit better differences in sound performace (richness) less glare
I talked to audiolab a couple weeks ago when they sent me the Omnia to review and I asked them why does the Coaxial ouput sound better he replied we have a higher quality driver output stage with Coaxial I said why isn't this mentioned no where ?!?!? Well audiolab figured Audiophiles would try both ?!?!?

My best. Dan. Albuquerque

Subscribed.
Glad to have you aboard if you have any ? Give me a few days and i will answer
Love your videos! You look like Hank Williams Sr. in this video.

Cool review, the Audiolab brand is cool, im considering the MDac+ myself
I spent alot of time with the Audiolab thos weekend first weekend i had off since i been back to work Music demo about to be uploaded 😃
You got me the JBL 530s
The Emotiva PT 100
Can get serious about a Dac next.
Thanks bob !
Nice job. You make a great case for this transport.
😆
Hey Tee-Jay,
I received my Audiolab 6000CDT today!
Thats great !! Love mine actually ordered a blackone also 😃 Very clean and open sounding
I made a mistake ! The Audiolab weighs
11.9 pounds not 16 pounds sorry for that !
Still nice hefty player that i have ran constantly for 4-5 days at a time on repeat mode its a solid choice with very good build quality ! Thanks for viewer or subscriber for pointing out my mistakes !
Great review. Love my Audiolab 6000CDT. I use with a portable CHORD MOJO DAC, and sounds awesome :-)
I've got the Mojo, I'm interested in using a transport with it.
@@JamesSmith-qy3eu I've got the Audiolab 6000CDT, what can I say? It's everything the reviews say it is. The best musical sounding I have heard CD's sound, ever. It's an unbelievably natural sound, so organic, unforced and effortless .

Great review. The audiolab 6000CDT
I owe the Audiolab 6000CDT/M-DAC + combi with a Apogee WydeYye coax. This is a killer digital frontend.
Thats weird man those are exspensive i wonder if you have a spring on the much thats working properly or missing a damper
Thank you Tee-Jay. I was seriously thinking about purchasing one of these units
before seeing your excellent (down to earth) review. You have confirmed everything
good I have heard about this unit but with an added perspective on the quality
build and construction. It's exciting to know that there is a product such as this unit that can truly make a difference you can hear. I plan on teaming this beauty up with a Schiit Bifrost
or Denifrips Aries 2.
Thanks for stopping in Charles and for the comment !
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 I'll be sure to let you know. I too have owned my share of CDP's. Just a couple of days ago my Sherwood of 18
years died. It seems that audio equipment with moving parts (CDPs) have a definite lifespan
so here's hoping the "Sherman Tank" is just that and has a long life.
Thank you for a very informative review.

2. Can we simply "transport" the digital signal from the SACD disc to a DAC decoding DSD, which the Denafrips Ares2 does?
Thanks for the answer.

How would you compare it with Rotel CD11 ? Thanks in advance. Bye have heard Rotel A11 Tribute?
Connect optical or coaxle or does it matter? I heard positives for both leaning towards coaxle being the better choice for sound.
I prefer coaxial imho its a lil warmer but maybe the cables i use Coaxle i use Audioquest cinnamon and optical i use Audioquest pearl
If i were to bring back time, i would gave gotten the audiolab. Both are great transoprts but the audiolab has the edge.
Hey Tee-Jay, great review! Have you guys try to compare the 6000cdt with a PC based system playing flac files ? In other words, the old question : CD's or FLAC ?
That would be tuff todo and would realoy depend on the noisey computer i actually used and dac 😃
How reliable
Has this transport
Been since you originally
Reviewed it
Very reliable but every once in awhile it would scratch a cd ' didn't do that the 1st 2 years ' reason they came out with 7000cdt thats great ! !
I even bought 2 of the 6000cdt but sold them both !
Is it a good idea to upgrade the power cord on a cd player and/or DAC like it is with amplifiers?
Secondary question,
Is there a general rule for placement/separate digital components from analog components?

Nice job. I was thinking of trying this Audiolab 6000CDT with a OutLaw Audio RR2160 MK II what are your thought on this please.
I loved the CDT so much that i couldn't send it back on its loan/lease agreement and I have owned cd players up to 2k and the Audiolab cdt paired with a decent dac just blew away all the players I have previously owned ! But you need a decent dac ! Idk about the dac in the outlaw i never tried it. But paired up to my dacs Topping E30/D50s my Schiit Modius-Modi 3 / Soncoz laqxd1 /AuneX8 majic Dac/ and Burson Conductor 3x performace they all sounded great ! Its a solid 12 pounder built right and very dependable!
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks, I think they use a pretty good DAC in their system.

I thought Ian was coming out with a streamer/cd transport ?
