the guy is probably the luckiest guy in the world, practically begging to be caught yet no one cared not even the irs
If he was the luckiest guy in the world, he would've been born with a less powerful conscience and been able to live the life he'd made for himself.
Actually yeah, now that you mention it, it _is_ odd the ATO didn't say anything. But, considering the bank probably threw it as a loss, they probably handled the fraud allegations on his behalf to keep it all under the rug. Or the ATO isn't nearly as aggressive as the IRS. One or the other, dude really found a golden ticket...
He is a good man, maybe that's why..
IRS is an American company.
@@GetDougDimmadomed yea but irs is more of a well known meme
He's not Mr. Beast. He's Mr. Based.
Most wholesome criminal ever.
Uses stolen money to help people more than for himself. In fact, making people happy was his idea of a fun time. (how many actual non-Mr. Beast rich people did the same?)
Stops just out of personal guilt, and even confesses it.
Actively tries to get arrested as punishment when he noticed police was taking too long.
Seriously, Mr. Beast should hire him.
...wait...
So War Thunder is a game?
I only heard about them until now about how their forums are filled with leaked military files about vehicles.
Tecnically the money isn't even stolen. Nobody owned that money, at best he stole painted paper
@@LampolukeThat printed paper was cash that belonged to the bank. Cash that needed to be refilled by the bank. His electronic payments for goods and services were essentially counterfit money as well. So yes, the money was stolen. Primarily from the bank.
A lot of the "leaked" documents are ones that have been declassified or publicly released, that someone just bothered to look for.
Some of the claims of realism are also dubious.
It's usually along the lines of someone saying their 100% accurate models of tanks Are Not and use the documents to try and support that argument
Only a broke drunk person would even try screwing with the atm. This is the most Australian story ever. It could easily be a movie. A modern day Bacchus
According to this vid, they ARE making a movie, with the guy’s approval!
Wait. He could have kept the money, and even paid the remaining back? When I heard that only the rich never get arrested, I never expected that.
Basically at that point the bank admitting he took all that money from them and they didn't even notice would hurt them more than just pretending he doesn't exist.
@@Jokoko2828all the money he took was Tiny compared to what they move daily
The Australian Psycho. Confesses to everyone but no one wants to punish him
Speaking of legal trouble, it was announced a few hours ago that there may be lead in the Stanley cups
Never would’ve guessed from how the people who buy them act (this is sarcasm)
Ah, that's gonna be entertaining.
@@dontassociate like Romans?
Do they like bussy?
@@FriendlyArchpriest the have brain dablege
@@dontassociate I mean, Romans did love the taste of lead too... so, same thing...
That was a good story. The guy is surprisingly relatable. Hope he created a nest egg out there somewhere. I have to wonder what became of his old friends.
43:18 Reality is stranger than fiction.
That's actually pretty smart of him to recognize the that glitch is very unsustainable.
11:53 I would just get as much cash as I can, wait for them to catch on, hide the money, and when they don't believe me when I say I don't know what's going on and throw me in jail, I'd just be street rich when I get out because electronic payments and paper trails are how they get you
29:07 I don't see how this can end well but I think this guy might be my hero... and probably Jesus, yeah I think he's Jesus
37:17 O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done
Lana sounded like she was falling for him because of his boldness 😂
i'd fall for a guy with an infinite money glitch too
Alana. He was spending A LOT of money, money that eclipsed what was normally going on, he was spending money he should not have had, TAB was thinking he was embezzling their money.
Also yeah ACA is fucking Garbage.
The TAB is monitored by the government also they have pay tax.
It’s probably because he was so wholesome and stopped that the bank felt it best to sweep under the rug vs the PR Nightmare and losing possibly thousands of accounts
bro had 20 luck, 20 charisms, and 0 intelligence
He had to have some intelligence to outsmart the bank for so long that what he did was stupid, but he himself wasn't
Dan is the main chaarcter of Australia
Whether it was intensional or not. Dan pretty much made a mokery out of the whole police system. The police were idiots, everyone from the bank were idiots, and everyone else were idiots who didn't see through this blatant crime. The only way he actually got caught was because Dan outed himself out of guilt. And even then, he still had a few years free because the bank never even reported him. That, to me, is the most hilarious out of this entire situation.
Massive spikes in someone's gambling habits usually means SOMETHING is fucky about the situation and it's bad for all involved if it's illegal. The guy coulda just coasted by comfortably never at risk of debt until someone else screwed up. Hell there coulda been hundreds of people doing that until this dumbass got caught.
He absolutely should have invested the money in the stock market. Buy a bunch of stocks, keep the account floating until the stocks pay back the deficit. Retire early.
If this happened in America he would’ve got caught immediately and 5 years in jail, you DONT fuck with money here.
Wow, there was a K Mart in this video. Have not seen one in years.
Should have kept some of the cash he withdrew and just… moved overseas.
Ohh maaaan he started up so insanely correctly too.
Hear me out: he really just needed to win it back in gambling, he had the free money and the time to statistically do it pretty surely at some point
If this happens to you and you go with it instead of ignoring it, invest the money. You will be able to give the money back if they ask, or even admit to it later when you have enough to repay it and continue investing.
cant wait for this to be a movie. edit: Just finished the video. turns out they are making one
29:52 Le spécial... "va te faire foutre" 💀
😂😭😂😭😂😭
this how bad dumb people are with money and why the majority of lotto winners are broken within a few years..... man is making 6 figures pop out of nowhere and never thought to buy his own car, and instead uses taxis to get the money creating a trail and raising suspicion
Damn...I would have given myself so much money and disappeared.
Jesus this just gives a bad feeling in my chest, just hearing about this........knifes edge of life dealing with, what's essentially fake cash
Man... the last 10 minutes were wild
The fact that they had a catch-up system makes me believe that it was a bug in the atm software that didnt store some of the transactions to be pushed to the servers later when the the connection between them gets working again, creating this loophole, the error message steps were most likely not needed at all, although it depends on the code (couldve been some weird data race that happens on error, or an incorrect error checking, or some other logic error), which i dont have access to, so this is all just speculation
Ok, if he was able to exploit online banking as well, seeeeems like it was a huge logic-related bug on the server side
Hosting a party for the bank he robbed is the funniest thing I’ve heard
I love when I understand the town names. Aussie Represent
I'm pissed. Bro was given a free pass by divine intervention every time and he STILL went out of his way to muck it up. He could have been 80 years old before they ever found out, and by then he would have lived his whole life in complete luxury. People literally daydream about something like this happening to them. What an absolute idiot. I wouldn't even feel bad. I probably would have started an actual company if I were him and legitimately make the money back slowly but surely. He could have done it. I hate it so much.
It seemed less like he was feeling bad for taking money from a bank, and was more terrified of the police raiding him
I get where you're coming from about him pissing away the money he made, but it was illegitimate money. He was living like tomorrow would be his last outside of a cell, given the obvious illegality of what he was doing. Suggesting he should have laundered the money instead of just doing the right thing and not doing it at all is probably the biggest red flag I've ever seen, though. 😂
Mr Sanders might've not been the luckiest guy when it comes to gambling, but he sure got really lucky with the whole criminal investigation and the low sentence.
why does he look so much like a less cleaned up tristan tate towards the end?
Honestly if you are getting money you shouldn't have the worst thing you can do is go nuts and buy things you wouldn't otherwise be able to afford, tax agencies notice that shit.
If possible atleast look as poor as possible from the outside and tell no one.
Same goes for legal money like a lottery win, don't change your life style just use it to retire early or enjoy some reasonable things you wouldn't otherwise but nothing that will turn heads. That is how to get noticed by people you don't want to notice you.
smartest comment i've read.
Dannnn, ya fookin legend mate
Dude could have built up a fortune and then fled to a country with no extradition laws with Australia. Though, admiringly, those picking would have been slim and carry their own risks.
Just think if he hadn't had a conscience he could've done this forever until the bank went bankrupt. Which I honestly wouldn't be mad about. Could've just kept going until he keeled over, & had everything come out after he died.
Banks are for profit businesses, when they give out loans they're using their clients money. Yes there's FDIC but still the fees, the predatory lending, etc banks suck.
Credit unions are nonprofit & almost never lend someone more than they can payback. Also with protections similar to FDIC. Also the credit cards I've had through credit unions have been waaaay more protected from ID theft & fraud.
Yep.
Gotta be honest, sounds like a hell of a retirement plan. If this dude had any kind of sinister mind at all this could have continued forever. All you have to do is not withdraw for about a week but still make the credit transfers. Then electronic transfer the money out of the country to a high yield account and love on the margins.
Bad people are using the glitch Dan found, but on purpose to embezzle amounts money where A$1.6M is not even big enough to be called a rounding error :o
what a tragic ending

Seriously instead of using the money on Gambling like an idiot, that coverup about investing quite a bit in the stocks of Australia because one of two things are going to happen, either he has enough stocks in Australian businesses that if they ever took him down, it would likely cause a chain reaction that beings them down with him unless they lie to to save his ass because most businesses or most immoral to start with and it would cause financial damage for years to come.
The second one he would have so much money in stocks and ran in politics, he would be likely to just buy that pre-emptive "Get out of Jail" card and based on his habits that he helps the people before himself, it would really be hard for the media to convince people to label him as a "bad guy" when he has helped people when they needed help most when no one would.
People only really care about this financial fucky-wucky shit when it directly favors politicians. People however will never believe the man is evil when he has changed their lives for the better and call him a saint, regardless on how he got the money.
Update: I seriously who gave the people at the bank jobs? Considering what he withdrew the money the court ordered him to pay back is so much less than he got.
He stole so many dollarydoos
what a pathetic fiance
no, she did everything right. otherwise she'd be an accomplice.
@@_JoeVer she left him over text at the first hint no RUMORS of illegal activity
@@SpieleSuchti894 well, they weren't even living together in the first place, so not like they seemed to have interacted in person anyway.
now, what the hell was up with that entire arrangement - the long distance engagement, the shared savings account and whatnot - i've no idea. leaving someone over text just means your relationship wasn't real in the first place. but i'm not their therapist, so i've got not clue what was going on with their personal life.
all i know is that i wouldn't want to marry someone who sends me suspicious money while getting fired and not even telling me. if i have to learn about my fiancee's termination through rumours, my levels of trust and security would drop significantly - below those required for future marriage.
Wholesome soft fluffy fox ears ❤
I've been wondering about something the whole video. He got all that money for free and he didn't even bother to buy himself a car or a bike so he can go to the nearby ATM Machine on his own? The risk was already high, but man cmon.
With how much he drank I think he should be kept far off the roads alone on any sort of vehicle, assuming he even had a license for cars. Honestly impressive he managed to do the daily check-in in that state.
He could only make $1000 transactions one at a time for an hour a night. It's simply far to small an amount to have any possibility of harming a back.
Awww. I want money glitch too 😂
wholesome
Imagine if he woulda invested in bitcoin with all that money.
17:50 L take from chat. It's because if you spend that much money on gambling you're considered an addict. There are strict rules about employing gambling addicts in a place that has gambling. True in UK and Australia.
Doesn't matter how much money you have, If you gamble that much and that frequently, it's considered a sign of addiction and they have to drop you.
Yeah, why he and his crime not becoming world headlines news
Because the bank doesn't want to look like idiots
Hm!Cant wait to do the same thing in my country 😎
There is another reason. They need write off his debt and stomache a loss.
Looks bad for profits and therefore investors.
why didnt he use some of the money to buy stocks, or invest in something?
because he's a goober
Because he can't think anything better than gambling, people like him is what I call wholesome and dumb at the same time.. Not mad at him tho, he help people with the money he stole, judging by his life he probably scared to invest his money on to something since he doesn't have the knowledge of it and scared to get caught by the police.
Yeah, broke people typically don't know how to do things like that to properly sustain their money. That's why they're broke.
Evil Mr. Beast XD
Well…
@@chillbixbrother4324 Yeah this didn't age well XD
What an idiot, he got a chance to secure his and his descendants future and he started gambling and partying and told his friends.
Why not buy stocks and shares enough to live confortable from the yearly payouts? Because thats way too capitalist.
Great video smu
God I hate poor people. I dunno if I can even finish this video.
What's that movie of rich guys giving a poor guy all there cash and he plays them...but in honesty I'm sure he found a glitch set up for someone important
Mr beast origin story?
how is this bank so dumb????
honestly this guy deserves little jail time, I think this is such gross negligence on the banks part
All in all, I'd say a year in jail+18 month community service was probably not that big of a sentence, considering he was almost 2 million in debt, and has been abusing the glitch for months.
@@Rogeryoonot only that, they also wrote the debt off, so he only had to pay the 250000 from the court hearing, he got off extremely well considering all that happened.
Jail time as a universal punishment is so pointless, as is legal punishment in general. The point should be to prevent criminals from repeating the crimes via surveillance or restricting their rights. Prison just makes society pay for all their living expenses and prevents them from working a job.
Crime and punishment
The video doesn't have 1080p60fps option
Here's the thing people when you discover something like this you only steal once and that is it you open up other cover you open up the box of cookies you look at how much cookies there are in the box if there's plenty in there then take it to but leave the rest behind. Being a greedy thief there is no profit just jail. Would that be a lesson
