My dad passed away when I was 10 yrs 1969.....I still always remember him playing Mantovanni & his orchestra Christmas album in his stereo.....while doing our Christmas Bethlehem statues complete with weeds, sands, papier' mache' mountains depicting Bethlehem itself ..... Through RUclips ...I reminish his memory through listening to mantovanni in RUclips - whoffer......now, my elder sister , younger brother my mom( who passed on June 6 2023) ....it's only me & my loving sister who has her own family now in Kuwait, & a niece ......Christmas is all about them....& Through mantovanni 🎄

We are blessed to have had that ... and the beautiful memories like we have of our families then, a more simple world, and fresh family values. Blessings to you and your family .. I grew up in Chicago , Illinois with dad in the war.. and well we evolved to Lombard Illinois to him having our dental business there and buying all those albums for mom and me...... and then moving up here to Minnesota to live our dream of owning a family resort. for forty years helping people rest and recover for their own issues and lives. Even up in Ely Mn where we had our resort, the albums followed us.. and I still have them too. Blessings to you friend.. in Mantovani.. blessings to you all. I believe it was conducted by Roland Shaw, (a noted conductor, who had a very good orchestra of his own). At the time, I was obsessed with Mantovanni (still am), but could not understand why it didn't "sound like" Mantovanni. In particular, his characteristic "cascading strings" are not present, neither does it have the delicacy or peacefulness of "Mantovanni's Christmas Carols" (1953/mono and re-recorded in 1958/stereo), or "Mantovanni(s) Christmas Carols (1959). By comparison, this is quite ordinary, and I would regard it negatively. Its what is often found in those low-priced bins at large retailers.

プロデューサーは生前のマントヴァーニの担当であったトニー・ダマトです。
マントヴァーニは生前、教会で収録されたクリスマス音楽や讃美歌の名盤を残しています。その格調高い演奏は、有名なクラシックの音楽家でも到達できない高みに達していました。それらの名演と比較すると、このスタンリー・ブラック指揮のザ・マントヴァーニ・オーケストラの演奏は、遥かに劣ります。
メドレーでの曲の繋ぎ方のアレンジは、さすがスタンリー・ブラックだと思いますが、狭いスタジオでの残響のない響きは、マントヴァーニの好みではありません。
