I'd really like to see a video on your day to day hair care routine (what you use to wash, how often, products and tools that you use.) Your hair looks so incredibly soft and shiny.
I only discovered your channel yesterday but since then I've been binge-watching so many of your videos 😂 I find them so inspiring and helpful as I'm gay and it's so nice to see that it is possible for gay couples to have such an amazing life, thank you so much! I just love your attitude towards life and your positivity is so contagious, keep doing what you're doing!!!
Ooh, I'd advise that the first thing to start with would be identifying your face shape- which I'm going to say is oval because it reminds me of Linda Darnell or Deanna Durbin! Aim for looks that are flat on top but have body to the sides xxx
Honestly your voice is so nice and calming and pleasant you should definitely to something like voice acting or maybe voice overs for audio books cause it's really great and I live listening to you talking 10/10
Lovely!! Also side note, it's been fun over the last few days watching your subscribers jump by well over 1000!!! I've been binge watching and work got in the way.
I must have watched this 5 times, just for fun :') you're amazing. I found your videos 3 days ago and have literally watched no other youtuber since, and we've just had the weekend so that was a lot of youtube time :P thank you very much for all your videos and your constant positivity
I've been watching your sponge roller videos and finally decided to try for myself this evening...but failed miserably. When I reach my scalp with the roller, and clip it in position, it just kind of flops forward...so I'm clearly doing something very wrong. It would be really useful to see a much slower video of how to actually get the roller in position (I absolutely love your videos though and can't wait to get the hang of it so I can try the different setting patterns). 💋
I have no light perception in my left eye and *of course* my hair naturally parts on the left. My Mom has described my hair as reminiscent of Veronica Lake since my early teens and I'm finally ready to try to get it to look this way on purpose.
This looks fantastic! I also really loved the music you used in the beginning. It's great that you're going to cut your hair soon. My own haircut is coming closer and closer, too! I think it's going to be mid-may. But I'll let you know when I know for sure!
Glad you like my hair colour! It's naturally more of a strawberry blonde but I like to darken it (because I'm pale enough as it is!). This is L'Oreal Prodigy 6.45 Amber. It's my fave! x
No problem. I think she's in the fifties or sixties in that universe. Also, her girlfriend is a bit more casual and I thought, "Oh wow, they are similar to this random couple I found online."
I just now came across your videos and wanted to say thank you. Great hair, great smile, lovely lady, just the lesson I was looking for. I like to style my hair without heat since it gets more than enough damage due to the process of lightening it. I currently use setting lotion and some roller type things for my curls and waves. idk what they are called, but they are long and thin foam strips covered with fabric and the ends snap together to make rings which you inter-link to get them to stay up while they are drying. I think I'm going to get a roller set like you use in this video though so I can try my best to follow you exactly. Thanks again!
I have a long face and all-across-my-forehead bangs. What type of 1940s hairstyle would you recommend would be best for my face shape? Thank you!! Loved how this hairstyle turned out! I also have long hair so I’ve been trying to do more Veronica hairstyles!
Jessica have you thought of investing in a pedestal hairdryer as the old soft bonnet dryers are becoming harder to get, and personally I i think that there is nothing more relaxing than covering your rollers with a triangular setting net and relaxing under the dryer. ..you should try it sometime❤️ Even though iam male I love being in rollers, it reminds me so much of my late mother setting her hair
My hair never seems to dry overnight and so when I release it from the rollers it is still damp and the curl is ruined. Can you dry your hair with a hair dryer for this look or will that take away the shine?
Hello, Lovely! I am wondering if you might be able to tell me where you got the stretch net to go over your curlers? I am in the US and can only seem to find triangle nets or wig caps, neither of which will work to go over my extra thick, extra long hair with curlers in. I’m the singer of a ‘40s big band and it would be wonderful to just go to shows and brush my hair out. Plus, my hair only holds curl in a wet set. Thank you!
When I did this my hair looked different, my hair is not smooth if not rather pulling to stew. If you know any way to leave it as smooth and beautiful as yours, let me know please! I love your account and your tutorials💗
I have been trying to roll my hair for a few months using these pink rollers and so far I've got the hang of it but my brushout never turns out good, my hair remains very curly with little curls going everywhere almost like an unkept Rita Hayworth hairsyle. It's cute but it's not the 40's look I'm going for. Does anyone know where the the problem is ? I don't use any hair product, is that why ? Or is it just due to my hair being naturally curly, enhancing the curls when I roll it ?
Wonderful video! I do have a question regarding curls though: How do you maintain them throughout the day? How do you keep them from drooping? Mine look great in the morning after the brushout, but they won't stay that way. I always pin curl if that has something to do with it? Cheers xx
Hi, I'm not one for pin curling but my curls using rollers really do stay in place all day and give great waves for at least the next three or four provided: (1) there is a slight dampness when they go into the roller (2) they are completely dry when taken out of the roller (3) I use a setting cream and (4) I don't brush too much through the day. I also sleep with my hair in a loose bun on top of my head and wrap it in a silk scarf. Hope that helps! x
Hi Jessica, love your video, just came across it today. Can you suggest where to buy the rollers? I live in Australia and bought pink vintage rollers on line from ebay. Thet were made in china and are a bit flimsy. Can you please provide a link to the brand you are using for pink and blue. Thank and you are a beautiful inspiration!
Hi, I hope these links work for you! These are the pink rollers: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MWU23EC/ and the largest ones in this set are the blue I used: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01K4GX8LW/ x
Hi! I'm working to get subtitles up on this video, quite a few of my recent videos work best with a voice over because I am doing something else on screen, but I will endeavour to make sure those have subs xx
Definitely possible! It depends on how short your hair is of course... Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn are great inspirations and even Grace Kelly's hair was short for a while. This article has some good pictures: www.glamamor.com/2012/12/the-hair-style-file-elizabeth-taylor.html If I ever cut my hair shorter I'll definitely be doing some vintage styles with it x
Most vintage styles back in the 40s and 50s were made for short hair. If you have a pixie cut and your hair is long enough you can even do finger waves.
Do you find it easier to sleep with bigger rollers in? The rollers I have are quite small (maybe 1.5cm) and it’s hurting my head when I’m sleeping and disturbing my sleep :(
I️ love your videos! I️ have tried to do looks like this and my hair always ends up looking like a poodle’s hair! Haha! What would you suggest doing to prevent this from happening? I️ use Lottabody and a smoothing oil. Thank you!
Do you find these hairstyles to last all day? I've never had """short""" hair before (hair that falls above my breasts) but I would like to try it so I can wear hairstyles like these. What's putting me off however is the fear that the curls won't last very long...I don't want to cut my hair and learn to style it just to discover that within 4-5 hours my curls are gone, you know?
Also this question isn't necessarily just for this hairstyle in particular. I've binged a few of your other hairstyle tutorials and I wonder about those as well. I have very thick and heavy hair and find that I don't hold hot iron curls very well, but I have no experience with curlers so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Your hair is literally like Barbie hair haha it's so perfect. Also I know you've said you're deaf but you also wears hearing aide. Does that mean you can hear a little? Sorry if you get tired of answering these questions or have answered this before.
Don't forget to put a little blush on your neck & décolletage, just barely highlight not like bronzer. Not to put some there is like not blending foundation on the jaw.
I'd really like to see a video on your day to day hair care routine (what you use to wash, how often, products and tools that you use.) Your hair looks so incredibly soft and shiny.
I commend you for appreciating the beauty of Veronica Lake!
I only discovered your channel yesterday but since then I've been binge-watching so many of your videos 😂 I find them so inspiring and helpful as I'm gay and it's so nice to see that it is possible for gay couples to have such an amazing life, thank you so much! I am so glad you are enjoying my videos, thanks for your kind words x
I've been binge-watching her videos too. I love her hair style! I absolutely cannot stop watching. Her stories are so inspiring!!!
Man you make those rollers look easy!
I just love your hair tutorials! I'm having a hard time finding the right pattern to suit my face and hair length, any tips?
Ooh, I'd advise that the first thing to start with would be identifying your face shape- which I'm going to say is oval because it reminds me of Linda Darnell or Deanna Durbin! Aim for looks that are flat on top but have body to the sides xxx
her accent is so pretty..
Im a newbie to vintage style or really doing anything with my hair. But this tutorial makes me feel like I can do it! Wish me luck lol!
Honestly your voice is so nice and calming and pleasant you should definitely to something like voice acting or maybe voice overs for audio books cause it's really great and I live listening to you talking 10/10
Hi and thank you very much, such a kind comment 🌸
I had completely forgotten how many hair tutorials you have/that that's how I first found your vids. Love your work so much!
Your voice is so comforting to listen to!
Thanks 💐
You are queen of the hair rollers darling. Awwwww how cute. I love your confidence and sweetness. Very cute and charming.
Oh haha thank you Michelle!
Sugar free ribena at 6:32
Lol so cute. And I love that stuff. 😊
I followed your advice and had wonderful results. Great video! And thanks for helping me get great hair.
You're a bawse!!! Just found your channel and I can't say enough praise about you. You're a love that all can aspire to be like.
Thank you! 💪
Lovely!! Also side note, it's been fun over the last few days watching your subscribers jump by well over 1000!!! I've been binge watching and work got in the way.
I know, it's been so amazing! Thanks x

I’m two years late, so you probably know this by now,
But you should try rolling them toward you from the bottom
Love the hair curling videos as i have curly hair & have troubles with frizz when i apply too much heat
You've gotten so many more subscribers since I started watching you -- congrats!! You deserve at least 1mil + subs.
I know, I'm so excited!
I'm a new subbie and have been binge watching your videos for the past couple days! I can't get enough lol
Yay! 😀
I have no light perception in my left eye and *of course* my hair naturally parts on the left. My Mom has described my hair as reminiscent of Veronica Lake since my early teens and I'm finally ready to try to get it to look this way on purpose.
U look great with this hair style... U keep doing what you are doing... 😊😊😊
I enjoyed the fun facts about Veronica Lake! Great video!
💐😀
This looks fantastic! I also really loved the music you used in the beginning. It's great that you're going to cut your hair soon. My own haircut is coming closer and closer, too! I think it's going to be mid-may. But I'll let you know when I know for sure!
Thank you! Hair cut pics coming soon on Instagram (eek!) x
It’s such Jessica Rabbit hair, and she is hair goals. This hair is so beautiful.
Jessica, I was wondering how you get your hair that beautiful red shade. What colour do you use, if any? Thank you for your great videos!!!
Agreed, her hair color is GORGEOUS!
Amy Boynton it's natural isn't it?
I don't know. That's why I asked! It looks amazing either way. :)
I think it's natural, but I could be wrong
Glad you like my hair colour! It's naturally more of a strawberry blonde but I like to darken it (because I'm pale enough as it is!). This is L'Oreal Prodigy 6.45 Amber. It's my fave! x
You look like this animated character I've seen on this show called, "The legend of Korra". Her name is Asami.
haha thanks, she looks cute!
No problem. I think she's in the fifties or sixties in that universe. Also, her girlfriend is a bit more casual and I thought, "Oh wow, they are similar to this random couple I found online."
Wow I'm the first person to see this video! This has never happened before😁 I also love your videos
i'm 2nd
Thank you I must going to do that I never do anything to my hair after this I will try and do this hair style thank you
I found your channel today and I'm so happy that it happened :)
Thank you, and welcome!
I am so obsessed with your channel! Not very good when you have finals coming up :(
Oh haha I'm sorry! Thank you very much 🌸

These videos are amazing, I want to do ALL of this to my hair. All of it!!!
I have a long face and all-across-my-forehead bangs. What type of 1940s hairstyle would you recommend would be best for my face shape? Thank you!! Loved how this hairstyle turned out! I also have long hair so I’ve been trying to do more Veronica hairstyles!

Some parts you tuck them inwards and some outwards. I did not understand, was it on purpose or it does not matter?
My hair never seems to dry overnight and so when I release it from the rollers it is still damp and the curl is ruined. Can you dry your hair with a hair dryer for this look or will that take away the shine?
I ADORE your channel!!
💕
Thank you
I wish I have discovered your channel when I still had long hair.
Where are your rollers from? I can only find smaller sized foam rollers and I have super long hair.....
Hello, Lovely! I am wondering if you might be able to tell me where you got the stretch net to go over your curlers? Just getting into roller use. When do I do under and when over?
Really beautiful it was very helpful 😘😘😘

Tgank you so much for the tutorial!!
is this also possible with flexi rods?
So gorgeous :)
My hair is longer like this so this look will be perfect
are those uncomfortable to sleep in?
Lotta body is amazing
Love it
hi jessica, subscriber. wondering if i can use the setting lotion with hot rollers instead of wet setting with foam rollers overnight?
Wonderful video! I do have a question regarding curls though: How do you maintain them throughout the day? How do you keep them from drooping? Mine look great in the morning after the brushout, but they won't stay that way. I always pin curl if that has something to do with it? Cheers xx

3:34 I can’t understand. What did she say? She pulled out something out of her hair...
Leslie E She’a deaf and needed to take her hearing aid out
sopheyrac Oh okay. Thank you!

I hope this is okay to ask, but why do you not sign in your videos anymore? I really appreciated it!

Jessica Kellgren-Hayes thank you so much
Most vintage styles back in the 40s and 50s were made for short hair. If you have a pixie cut and your hair is long enough you can even do finger waves.
That gorgeous red color makes me wish I didn't dye my hair black!

In the video she mentioned that if you have curly hair to straighten it before anything (text at 1:17) so I would assume so :)
Your hair is literally like Barbie hair haha it's so perfect. Also I know you've said you're deaf but you also wears hearing aide. Does that mean you can hear a little? Sorry if you get tired of answering these questions or have answered this before.
Hi! Thank you, that's so kind of you. I am not profoundly deaf, just severely, so my hearing aids are helpful x
I'm a new sub and I really love your videos Jessica K-H! ^_^
🌸😊
I love this type of classic Hollywood hair, but It would never suit me, great tutorial.
Jessica, do you ever get the opportunity to roller set your wife's hair?
could you do a Marilyn Monroe hair tutorial please xx
Hi Sophie! Is there any particular look you are thinking? x
haha, if i put that much oil in my hair... it would pull the curls straight.
Don't forget to put a little blush on your neck & décolletage, just barely highlight not like bronzer. Not to put some there is like not blending foundation on the jaw.
I don't normally have a hard time understanding accents....
Lots of mumbling
She's deaf.
I despise tutorials that are sped up the whole time and said quickly. 🙄 Not everyone is a pro. Some people are beginners.
