If we were all perfect the world would be a boring place. I restore old machinery and your body and paint vids have helped me out tremendously. thank you
I wish that I lived around you and Scooter. This video came just in time. I'm going through my bug and by listening to you and other men from U Tube. You just don't have a clue how helpful your videos are thank you. Man your great.
Darren, I used your motor rebuild video(s) to rebuild my 1974 engine that is in my 1965 beetle last year. I really have to say thank you for doing these videos. Now, my transmission just took a s*#t on me. I'm no where near confident to tear into this transmission. I SOOOO wish I lived down there by you, I'd pay damn good money to have you be the one to rebuild and replace mine in my bug. Thanks for all you do to help us keep these machines alive. You're the greatest.
Spoken with and recorded with excellence. Thank you for being you and recording your videos in the same manner. Not all of us can write well, speak eloquently, or splice videos together like a director of a blockbuster video. Nor can they assemble a motor or transmission and paint a car like you do. Looking at the glass half full makes for a much better day. Take it EZ bud.
Good stuff Darrin, I really like your mechanical videos, and although i have never had a vw engine i am really liking them. I am glad it is much easier on your body to work on them. Your leave no rock unturned approach to explaining the situation makes you a great teacher. Thanks for the videos man!
I honestly think your brain works better than most people I know. I'm amazed every time I watch you vids at how much knowledge you have. I've said it before, if I was closer I would come over and help you out with the bull work. Thanks for the videos!!!
You Darrin are one heck of a VW mechanic to say the least! Like other's have said don't sell yourself short.....I'v learned a lot watching your videos, thanks for taking the time to make them. And take care of yourself.
Know your line of thought. I with you have those plentiful irons in the fire. A personality that finds it hard to say no, but rather take more on trying to find a way to fit it all together. What really happens is that our own wants/needs get set aside and we continue to take longer then we should. I'm there now with my '36 and just can't get pointed that way to get on it. Find myself wanting to help my son get his VW Bus and Dbl Cab going or those other irons. Always good watching and listening
you got my sub, hang in there man just because it might be hard for you to read or write doesnt mean your any less smart then anyone else. your mechanical smarts are AMAZING!
You have a fantastic channel. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. This channel will be my motivation to finally start working on my VW. Just need the money for the rest of that motivation.
I understand about "too many irons in the fire". I am the same way. I hope you get caught up and you get to feeling better soon. I will send you a new sticker as soon as I get my reorder. Take care buddy. :-)
Well, your video just tells me that you are a normal guy. Taking on more than we should, not wanting to give up and denying problems that we have within ourselves. As for being nerved up about the surgeries, I feel you there. I will go into a building that's on fire, pull people from wreckage that's unstable and help our medics all day long. But, a needle or knife coming at me is not going to work. I had a cortizone shot in my shoulder once and I'll just say it didn't go well. Lol. Take care.
Thanks for the video Darrin. I feel your pain with the brain stuff. Before I got 'old' ( lol ) I used to be really smart. Now, I have difficulty making sense of stuff and remembering it is almost impossible. I remember the stuff that was in my head from years ago but new stuff just won't stick. That makes the work I do really difficult because in IT, nothing stays the same for long. Always something new to learn. I get there eventually but it's definitely more of a struggle ! Regards, Brad.
Hope things go ok with the back problems ,I have only recently discovered the youtube garage and you give me so mutch insperation to do stuff, Will continue to watch your videos they are very good weather your just talking or other mech stuff.Keep up the good work with wahatever you decide to do . All the best Tim

Darrin you are the man.Dont sell your self short you know alot of shit just remember we are all good at something and just get bye on other things later take care
do u have a video showing how to get the tail shaft off the trans? removed all the bolts but something isn't letting it come off, like its hung up on something. can you help?
Darrin. I had the nose cone rebushed and may have installed the hockey stick in wrong. The car does not go into gear now ... at all. How do you properly install the hockey stick? Thanks, bro.
I worked for years making hardly nothing. Then I got all the licenses and certifications, then I told my employer this is what I have and this is what your going to pay me. My pay doubled after that. So it is a good idea to get the licenses and certifications. Now I just do my own jobs, but I still keep all my licenses and certifications up to date.
pain management isnt something new...he had one for 6 years....he would just prefer not to go to one of those but he has to have the meds for at night.....that's his will power for just at night if it was up to doctors it would be all day long....its just he has to go to a new doctor closer to home and he hates change but his old one is 2 hours each way from home and now is full of patients who shouldnt be there makes him uncomfortable
I have a question for you looks like you know a lot about vw transmissions I have a 1968 Westphalia bus that is stuck in third gear and wont come out thanks any advice is greatly appreciated .
we all have our problems with certain school subjects and everything else. i cant do math and i cannot read something and remember it 5 minutes later. i have whats called an auditory memory, if someone reads a test to me and i tell them the answers i'll get straight A's. if i do the test like normal i'll fail everytime. as for math, i just cant understand numbers. dont know why just cant
I like you being straight up I like what you did train the regular mode but I've never built a Volkswagen motor I like to have your phone number I like to talk to you about it case that you said you could probably pay somebody for money own and I like talking about a set of heads like the one you bored the vowel 60 35 45
It's a drag to be put in this position - to find fault with another guy's work. It sure seems like it was not represented properly. Hope you get it back togetehr properly.
If we were all perfect the world would be a boring place. I restore old machinery and your body and paint vids have helped me out tremendously. thank you
Hope your feeling better Darren. I enjoy each and every video whether it is 5 minutes or an hour. You are certainly a motivator and a mentor.
I wish that I lived around you and Scooter. This video came just in time. I'm going through my bug and by listening to you and other men from U Tube. You just don't have a clue how helpful your videos are thank you. Man your great.

You are one of the best motivators I have ever met. Thank you for taking the time to give us the push we need! Shawn
I'm the same way with writing Darren. It's always been hard to write. I learned how to build air cooled VW motors.
