Good looking unit. My only - would be that on the tub, or half circle, have the solid walls go up higher so they can't see out. As you say at the front of the chute you have open to let more light in, so they see to want to get out. Have less light here so they can't get nervous when people are walking andworking around then chute area. You did a GREAT job in describing every little deatil about it! How about a video showing the set up process? Time you unhook from the pickup to ready to work livestock. thanks!

Thank you for the feedback, Brent! The reason there are light breaks in the tub walls is based on animal science. Cattle are drawn to light, so if the walls were solid, cattle would be less inclined to use the equipment! Solid walls can also cast shadows, which can scare cattle and make working livestock more difficult and less safe.

@@Arrowquip I will agree to disagree. Perhaps have the light at the start of the lane. But in the circle that gives them eyes to see whats going on,sq tubing to jump up on and poss break a leg. My dads was built in the 70's with full 4'x8' sheets only light was at the start and end of the tunnel. Good luck.

Ya this adjustable to rear handle is great for working alone. I've never had a self catch nor did my father with his home made one, all manual. With that one you needed two guys or be really fast, with this it's easy breezy. My sister came once, she wanted to help, but realized with how fast I could work the whole thing from tub to pushing them up to head locking she was just getting in the way, " hey, I'm just going to go make lunch you'll probably be done needling by the time it's ready the way this is going" haha she was so used to Dad's old system. Don't get me wrong the one he built was safer and faster than doing it old school stringing ropes and squeezing with panels like when I was young but this is just another incremental step again. So slick. ( have Q 8508 portable...got it off of Lee second hand had been used in a community pasture. First investment when I bought and took over the farm from Dad and the best so far I have to say)
