timothygats I’ll make sure to include that if I get out this spring! Unfortunately with the virus it sounds like our boat launches will be closed once the ice does come off, but I’m hoping for the best that they open up by then! One thing I did mention in the video that makes the process much easier and safer on the fish is using barbless hooks!
Great video . Besides removing the hooks barbs I remove all but the last hook be it a tremble or two hook. Having three sets of tremble hooks all get dug into a pikes mouth is a pain for me and the fish. And I don't loose fish either because of the missing hooks. Take a lure and give it a try. You might find releasing the pike is much easier. Fish on from Vermont !
Took a fly in trip to Ontario for a fishing trip. Single barbless hook requirement. I lost quite a few fish that first day. I eventually learned and started landing fish. I've never used a treble hook again.
I did enjoy your video but don't like the stills with you holding the fish out, making it look bigger. I've fished for big pike in northern Ontario for 40 years. No need to exaggerate their size. As my old friend says "if its got teeth, fins and attacked your lure, its a good fish"
Peeling drag is a goosebump sound. Spring northern are a lot of fun.
Incredible pike fishing on a beautiful lake. Thanks for the video! The bugs look as fierce as the pike, too.
Nice video man!! Greetings from Montreal! Pike fishing is opening today, can’t wait to go on the water after work!!!
ice out in northern ontario and you are fishing in shorts. I can tell you live in Ontario haha! nice
Looks like a blast!
Great video! Really nice Pike too!
Would like to see some footage of the process of handling the fish/getting the lure out. Thanks!
