I fell in love with a girl from kazakhstan, from atyrau. I met her in university in the UK ( i live in the UK) i wont love any other girl, she is just the most beautiful girl in the world
Nicely done. Few comments 😂 - Kazakhstan is not Muslim country, but a country with Muslim population majority. Otherwise it sounds like it has Sharia laws and is not secular country. - Kazakhstan has a lot of ethnicities, ethnic groups, but not nationalities. All citizens of Kazakhstan do share one nationality. In west, nationality is interpreted differently, than in Kazakhstan, and in post Soviet block. For instance, a person with Algerian roots from France identifies himself/herself as French national.
No she means we are culturally muslim, look it up on the internet. I knew it from the post about kazakh labels in western world from AbaiCartoons on Instagram
Hi ! I don't agree with you about the French and Algerian example. I am French because I was born and raised there and I do have Algerian roots from all my grandparents. But I feel fully both, I have the double nationality.
@@asmasaajan4687 sorry mate if this example did not relate to you and it did touch you in some way. You have double nationality and you know your roots well. Good for you. My comment was about distinction/difference of nationality and ethnicity. In my opinion, it's not right to call someone by ethnicity, while nationality is different. This causes some little sparks of racism among comrades and citizens. Innit?
A lot of things she said about Kazakhstan applies to most countries outside the West cultural sphere. Eg. Most Asian, African, Eastern European countries including many Christian countries like Armenia
there is a missunderstanding about kidnapping, most of the time the girl agrees with the man to kidnapp. because they love each other but the girl's parents asks more for qalym, or sometimes it is very expensive to marry by traditional way, to avoid it parents of both sides give permission to "kidnap". Nowadays "kidnapping" is more a tradition than a crime. the term "kidnap" used here is not true, should be used "escape". because "қашу" means to "escape".
@neil gordon Good to know. Well, in southeast asia, there also term of "running marriage" or "escape marriage". Though its not a Tradition. Basically, when a man unable to provide certain "mahr" as the girl's parent asked, but the they love each other. They would choose this kind of action.
As a woman from Kazakhstan, I'd agree with that. It's mostly a festive ritual, but not exclusively. I have been offered to get kidnapped by suitors a couple of times, but my lack of enthusiasm was very politely considered, nothing happened. However a colleague of mine had a different story, her desires were not taken into consideration by a suitor, and she had to walk out of his house, where the family elders were all getting ready to tie the knot, and the walking got to be happening in a very heated and hostile atmosphere, cause she was expected to stay, which she did not. The tradition does not rub me wrong when it is done respectfully and is a two way street.
this is so interesting, thanks for sharing this about your culture xx i grew up with my russian family and even in russia some of these things are very similar to kazakhstan, i guess because of the soviet union. can't wait to learn more from you x new subbie
I'm confused with the info you've given. kazakhstan family code doesn't allow polygamy. even though the majority of citizens are muslims. But it's not a Islamic state , it's a secular state.
@@meow-ge7xk it isnt law endorsed,so probably if it even happens (which is unique case) then with permission of the first wife, the agreement of the second wife to be as “second”,and polygamist man should be wealthy to meet all sides’ needs. Usually when the woman knows of his man having another woman, the case will be led to divorce .
oh my gosh! I just signed in to say only, how gorgeous you are ! And it is really amazing to see utubers on this amazing platform from KZ,our sweet homeland. We'll definitely support and promote our country buddy(woman/ man). Btw, hi from East Kazakhstan, Semey city:) have lived a year in Astana and 4 years in Almaty during my Bachelors. Beside Islam marriage isn't as close as u indicated at allllll, where do u bring ur info from,if ur parent were perverted Muslims that doesn't mean generalizing, in Islam the women can pick the guy she wants and done under her family surveillance, cuz women in Islamic countries raise up within her family love and care, she doesn't need to pay any sent of her funds she is earning and her family paying her
I once dated a Kazakh woman and she had crazy high expectations about what a man should do for her. I am a very chivalrous guy, but she was never satisfied w expensive gifts I bought her, always expected me to do more than I was doing, very tough on me and never with complements about my looks or successes. Don’t get me wrong, she was stunning, just complaining all the time and it was never enough for her.
All of us dunno how to save money themselves. And we are people how much they earn and so much spend money. But you made a mistake with the choice girlfriend if it was so)))
Gold digger are everywhr :)) u should took her in an expensive restaurant and comand Any kind of stuff and u go at the waitrees pay for ur consumption and let her thr :)) thts how u will give her a real lecon
Your wrong to generalize US people. We are not all the same. Traditional Tribes in the US, such as Navajo, We have a Clan system much like your Jetyata which keeps us from marrying family no matter how distant We are. Our Women are born naturally beautiful without the need for beauty product enhancements. For Us, it's the extended relations of Our Clans that makes it harder to find a partner within the Tribe. Searching Outside the Tribe, a partner from your Country would be acceptable because of similar Traditional values. We eat horse meat and enjoy cooked sheep head also 😉.
Dear sister, I humbly request you to read Islam before making any comment about Islam. It's not about hurting someone's sentiments but it is to avoid spreading wrong information. When you say women are expected to be virgin, it's not about Islam but it's about your culture and culture is not religion. Islam doesn't make any additional rule for the chastity of a woman than a man. A Muslim has to abstain from any intimate relationship irrespective of a male or female. You talked about rights but Islam doesn't oppress the women, in fact it liberates the women. The first wife of Prophet Mohammad, Mother Khadija was a successful businesswoman and breadwinner of the family. Islam talks about equity in rights, not equality. It talks about fair distribution of responsibilities, not equal responsibilities. Men and women have been given fair and equitable responsibilities in Islam because Allah has created them with different qualities but when you see both genders in their totality, you will realize that Allah has created both gender as unique and the best of their forms. The Western mentality of so called equality degrades the status of women in society. May Allah guide us all and Give us better understanding of religion.
Wow! I learned a lot from your video today. Thats soo interesting how diffferent dating culture can be in different countries. Im looking forward to seeing more of your videos x
Thank you so much for the video, it's very interesting! I was supposed to come to KZ for an internship and learning Russian, but it all got canceled due to the epidemic. So, I'm from Italy and I've lived in the US for a short while. Since I was planning to live Nursultan for a while, I was wondering what's the approach of people from KZ to relationships and this video answered many of my questions. It's funny because, being from Europe, it seems to me that the rest of the world is *still* obsessed with getting married and having kids, US included, while in Europe marriage is getting less and less popular and people have kids when they're 35+ ys old. Getting married early is almost frowned upon 😅 Also, I could never NOT share with my partner/husband the costs of having a family, and at the same time I would expect him to take care of the house and the kids as much as me. When I was in the US, I was shocked by how many women quit their job to be housewives and take care of the kids. I would never do that! But often here in Italy women work AS MUCH AS MEN and have to take care of the house and the kids on top of that, all by themselves. So more women working doesn't alway mean "more equality". To me what's important is being able to make our own choices without society condemning us (men and women). After all a marriage is a contract between two people, who could easily establish the roles that they will have, based on their abilities, income, habits,... And if you don't agree with your partner on that, you should definitely not marry him/her :)))
@Johanna, It's interesting to hear your perspective as a European. I am from Kazakhstan and lived in the US for a while. I was very surprised by how many people from my university (undergrad) got married right after graduation or even before
It is wonderful to see that Kazakhstan has been able to keep morality and decent human values, and has not degenerated into the reckless promiscuity, and disdain for other human beings that exists in the west. Generally, ex-soviet countries become steeped into purposeless and senseless materialism, and can not advance beyond this. But Kazakhstan has been able to keep a spiritual, human and material balance, and co-existence with others. Thumbs Up !
Kinda hate these comments tbh. First off, not a lot of sex is happening in western countries outside a small percentage of people. It's been widely covered but there's tons of sexless guys, it's overblown because you see some sexy woman on a tv commercial or in a movie. Additionally, what accomplishments, art, scientific advancements are being made in these "moral" "decent" countries? So moral yet are they wiping out diseases, traveling the stars (and yes I know Soviet Union had their space program in Kazakhstan), etc... No doubt some of these countries you deem moral have contributions, but our "slutty" Western countries are outperforming every other country ever in the history of existence in terms of advancements in every which way you can think about, medically, technologically, etc...Maybe you don't like how women can vote or drive, but that also comes along with having high quality of life, so is it really that bad?
Not true. The only things really different between Americans and Kazahkstan in reference to dating and marrying is the kidnapping thing, and men having multiple wives. For the most part we are the same. Most people date to find a mate. Most people ask, "When are you getting married?" and then, "When are you going to start having children?" Yes, some people "date" or are a couple for years, and may never marry, but continue to stay together, but that is not the norm. Also with the woman paying, that is not the norm. Usually the man pays for the dates, buys flowers, etc. In a married couple both have to work and provide for the household out of necessity. The cost of living is so high a man is unable to provide without the wife working also. My mother took care of the home and my father, on a basic salary, was able to provide for the family, but that is not possible anymore, unless someone is wealthy. The man usually makes the first "move" to get to know the girl. Females do not typically initiate contact with unknown men (other than possibly flirting, but they do not typically ask the guy out). We also do not freely use online dating services. We are usually introduced by a mutual friend or meet at work or school. Meeting at bars is frowned upon. After a few dates or a first kiss, it is usually understood that we are exclusive and dating toward being a serious couple, unless stated otherwise, which is not typical. Religion and customs are important in our society. We usually date within our ethnicity and it was not easily accepted with mixed race couples, but that is less of a stigma now and is, in fact, heavily encouraged (to the level of propaganda) in our media for some reason. Still, people tend to date and marry within their own race and within their same economic level. We don't marry our cousins. Over one hundred years ago, few people in the Southern States did, but that is very much frowned upon and illegal. When I was dating, the female was expected to marry as a virgin. Now I think it is different because it is not expected for men to be a virgin (but for me it was) and women decided that was bullshit, and I'm glad they did, but up until pretty recently, women tried to be pure for marriage. The man does not pay the family cows or sheep or money for the bride. One custom we do have, is the bride's father typically pays for the wedding, but that is only in wealthy families anymore and when the couple is young. Because of the divorce rate there are many older couples getting married for a second time. They, then, pay for their own wedding, and a lot of other customs are forgotten about. I'm probably forgetting something, but for the most part we are very similar in our customs. When you were describing your customs I was constantly feeling it was the same for us, but when you described what Americans do, I had no idea who these Americans you were talking about were, unless you were talking about something you learned on TV, which is false. We are nothing like what is on TV.
Oh, yeah, about the makeup thing, back in my grandmother's day you had your hair and makeup done to take out the trash and do housework, and men wore ties all the time. Today we like to look nice, and most women still wear makeup and are unkind to women who don't. It's petty. We care about fashion, but our fashion tends to follow function, but not always. For dates we dress up. It's not that we're slobs or don't care, our fashion is intentionally unpretentious and casual "looking." People actually work to get that look and try to make it look accidental, if you understand, like the "messy bun," or the "dirty hair" look, or trying to wear makeup in such a way as to look like you're not wearing makeup. They actually purchase products to make freshly washed hair look unwashed or "invisible" makeup. That's a style that came out of Hollywood and people accepted it. We accept hairstyles and makeup from Hollywood a lot easier than we accept their customs.
Great video Salta, but I think that your perception of the US only represents a narrow recent-grad 18-24yr educated downtown urbanites. By the time you turn 28-35, the expectations shift in line with what you've described in Kazakhstan. That's when the expectation is that you must buy a big house in the burbs to start a family. Also, the biological clock becames a significant factor for women 30+. It's reinforced by doctors and fellow friends who are struggling to conceive. Just a thought. Great work!
It's because economically local men in Kazakhstan are able to buy a house or flat at their mid 20s with little or less help from their parents Also life expectancy is short for kazakhs and people don't wait too long to have kids I think it's mainly economical
I live in the U.S. Young people can and do stay in big cities. There is no pressure to move to the suburbs, be married, or have kids. Some are career oriented and don't want kids. So she is right. If you are woman who wants to have kids, sure do it while being young. You are free to pursue that goal but it is not everyone's goal. Nor it is expected of every woman. It is not weird to find single people, childless couples, gay couples, transgender couples, divorced couples, etc.
They still follow these things because it's part of their belief and religion and you should respect that even if you disagree because even you, you have beliefs or religion and you live your life in that way that you desire.
Knowing half of the religion is scary😱. Yeah Islam does allow a man to have 4 wives at a time. However, only in case if he can keep all of them happy at the same time and does no injustice to any of them. Moreover he can only go for the second or third or fourth marriage if his previous wife approves that. He can't do that without the consent of his already existing wives. The conditions for another marriage were like if the other woman needs help or support as helping an unknown woman with no acceptable relationship could be a lil bit inappropriate in our culture.
Actually the position of Kazakh women is not so bad. While most Western women maintain themselves from the age of 18, many Kazakh girls have never paid for their studies, rent, utilities, etc. in their entire lives. They are always under the protection of their father or husband. And if they earn, they spend all their money on cosmetics, entertainment, recreation, etc. Only by the age of 30-40, if she is divorced, or not married, she begins to live separately and often in an apartment that her parents gave her. And of course no one can force her to marry, if she doesn't want to.
Not true, I know lots of women who are self-made, for example, who lost their father or they were abandoned, and they could take care of not only themselves, but entire family and even husbands!
Asian almost have a similar tradition way or something in common that they should do and obey because thats their ancestors legacy. In modern world especially i am as an asian woman take a good lessons how you need to be a good woman for real...for example how you speak how you think what you say what you do etc based on our ancestors legacy. This tradition legacy is like a comppass that bring us to whom we will meet and who will be our future husband, he's good or bad. So far it is good for us even in modern now but also there's some adjustment that we rarely meet like arranged marriages. Proud to be Asian 🇮🇩...so lovely to see this video.
There are so many similarities between Kazakhstan and the Hmong cultures. We don't do kidnapping in the US now but Hmong that live in other countries still do. I knew three people that got kidnapped before I came to the US - my aunt, my first cousin and my girlfriend. My aunt and my first cousin are happy with their husbands because they have kids with them now but my girlfriend.
I would say the Kazakhstan views are relatively similar to traditional or conservative Christian culture in the U.S.. Very patriarchal, minimal "casual" or non-serious relationships, far more standards for women than men, being a virgin is important, gender roles, etc. Obviously there are many differences like how often the man pays or acceptable attire, but there are numerous similarities in attitudes.
as someone with pakistani roots (a muslim country), but born and raised abroad, I totally understand how less of a human women are made to feel.. I can't speak for your country but I feel like a lot of it has to do with blurring the lines between culture and religion, and women not having access to proper religious education. Like so many women back home don't know their religious rights and only believe what male members of society teach them. A true Islamic society is supposed to be one where a women can go from one to corner of the country to the other alone and is safe. Sad to say such Islamic societies can't be found anywhere
Hello I wanted to find out more about Kazakhstan I hope all is well with you and your family by the way! Also, I have seen some of the men and they are GORGEOUS!!! wow. They looked mixed Asian and had large cheekbones. So beautiful.
Most people in the comment section claim to have a kazakh girlfriend lol. Truth is they tend to date their own guys but there are rare instances of them dating guys from other nationalities but it is rare.
I won't hate u, for lying about Islam, but this is a fact in ur country how they treat women, Islam is about love, loyal, care, and respect women, if u have diamond would u throw it anywhere or with anybody, the women for us are more valuable Than diamonds and we wouldn't risk them, so plz pick ur words, and make aservuy before talking about any topic, cuz I'm also American Muslim citizen living in almaty and I do disagree with some points, but I respect difference 👍🌹
@@JorgieFilo if someone talk about ur mother u would be more aggressive, islam is more to us, but even though I didn't make an offense as she did, so calm down baby 🌷👍
Women are not diamonds. They are people, and should have the right to choose if they want to be treated like glass dolls or not. As for being as valuable as diamonds, that depends from person to person, they aren't valuable just for being women, men can be as valuable as diamonds too.
@@estera4176 right), but I didn't say they are glass doll, or diamond, - hi estera🌷_, I said that they are valuable more than them, and no women refuse to be treated in good way, and to let her feel she is valuable even if she is not, and this is what we call respect Ms.estra..let's not be unrealistic and keep arguing about obvious points, it's only one point this lady need to make study about religion or wht so ever she needs to talk about cuz listeners aren't kids..
@@jawgrowtm1411 I'm not talking about the way she presented Islam, but about women being taken care of as of diamonds. Everyone wants to be treated good, including me. But I wouldn't like to completely depend on my father, brother or maybe future husband financially. I want to support myself, and to make my own decisions, even if those can be influenced by my closest ones. I'm a healthy capable adult, and I expect to be treated as such, this too means good treatment to me. I feel valuable when I'm treated as a capable adult, not as a child. Of course, if I'll have children, I'll dedicate most of my time to them until a certain age and rely on my husband financially for a while, no money or career equals investing in human beings, in family. But my point is, I won't quit working forever (even if I wouldn't need the money, I want to feel useful to the society and to have a social circle), I'd feel like a parasite doing nothing when I could, or living off my husband while using my money for cosmetics and beauty and fancy clothes and such trivial things. As much as I love my family, and as much as we as human beings need one another, I don't need their constant protection and babysitting at this age. There's a certain line where my independence as an adult starts at. What I'm looking for is balance. I'm not a feminazi, stepping on every man around me, disregarding anyone's advice, and thinking only about myself and my wishes. But I'm not a child either, in need of constant care and others deciding for me in most things. I'm in the middle. If I'll ever marry, I'll share my life with someone, not completely surrender my life to him. I hope this makes sense.
Dear Salta, I like your videos and agree lots of things you have said, but about the religion, actually Islam is the religion that gave lots of rights to women and protect them, also you cannot just marry 4 wife, there are lots of history and knowledge there, maybe its better not to mix the culture with religion. Wish you all the best.
this is weird im not kazakh but i grew up in a family or in a bubble that teaches all she said about men and women. like my dad would say that i should get marry before i reach 30 and teaches me traditional gender roles about men should work and women should cook and raise kids.
@@vlogsvlog531 don't listen to this sexist person. You can have children pretty late into life or you can just not have them at all. Men are not stronger or better
@@DollfaceLizkah never said men were better than women!!! Men are physically built stronger than the female of the species. A man can produce a child into his 80's. Adam & Eve....Adam & Steve....Madam & Eve....black or white.....disabled or old.....why don't we all just get on!!!! PEACE!!!!!!
Regardless of gender, ethnicity, country, or religion, humans can be roughly grouped into two groups: The first group lives only for selfish gratification and thrills, with no awareness of what life is truly about, and at the expense of others. This inevitably ends in self-destruction, the destruction of family and society at large, as history has repeatedly shown. The second group is opposite to this. In reality, we are not fighting against each other, rather it is a fight between ignorance and awareness. With ignorance comes bondage, conflict and suffering, with awareness comes true freedom. So be truly free. Every soul is hostage to what it has earned (Quran 74:38). Do not let this life deceive you (Quran 31:33). Both the materal and the spiritual must be balanced.
This is crazy I ended up here but I was curious about Kazakhstan and fishing the north but I found this girls video. Raised my curiosity and wow the women there are very beautiful. Being from the USA I don’t know much about their culture but I think you’re doing a good job helping us understand. She’s beautiful
Never met or dated Kazakstan woman, but always intrigued in doing so. So I researched this and found your video. It was such a let down when you said it's looked down upon if men know how to cook, and I love to cook. O well, that ends my journey in trying to date a Kazakhstan woman.
Don't worry. It's not necessarily a deal breaker for all Kazakh women, especially those living in the cities. It's more that her male relatives might make comments but if you're not Asian, they might even let that slide as a cultural thing.
As a Muslim woman i would like to suggest you read more on women's rights in islam 🙏🏼. Islam isn't what a culture says and not how people decide to interpret it or apply it. It's really sad that so many people think this way when it's not even close to the truth.
You're right. But countries in Europe and Central Asia like Kazakhstan dont accept and practice things from Islam. Unfortunately this is the case. Idk it's because of the Soviet Union and the removal of religion but yeah sadly they don't follow Islam to the core
@@weshouldsaveourselves6780 it's true that social norms and the constant change of politics affects people's lifestyle, but we are huamn beings with free will to choose whether we learn the truth about our religion and follow it despite the change happening around us or not, keeping in mind thta islam fits all times and places though it could be hard sometimes to maintain when the community is doing the opposite but that's the point of this life, it is a test and doing our best is what allah asked us to do and that's all that matters, even if that "best" is not the ideal at least you're trying hard. Not all people think the same way as her. I think she's not Muslim, that's why she's ignorant about Islam. Also, yes soviet union made a huge influence on our religion, it was prohibited to show that you're Muslim. And they demanded to speak only in russian. Unfortunately, (it's true) they've made a genocide, that's the reason why there are few of us. In addition, in those days most of our intellectuals, scientists, writers were imprisoned (they were slandered "nationalists"), shot e.t.c. and their relatives were subjected to terrible persecution. There are lots of things to say... We don't blame russians or others of these generetion, for things that their ancestors did, but History should not be forgotten. All these made SOME ignorant, narrow-minded people who consider only with stereotypes. Not all of us think in that way

I just met a high income Kazakh Russian online who initially appeared to be fairly interested. It is very early but it feels like pulling teeth to get her to commit to an in person date. I am a high income, American man without a ton of time. I am not exactly new to dating and I realize its a little too early to tell. That being said, even though I am very conservative and prefer to "take it slow," I also am annoyed when I feel like I'm wasting my time. Advice?
In Islam also the guy is the one how bring money to the family and the woman if she works she can keep the money to herself and do whatever she wants with it
In my opinion, family choice is usually the best option because of the blessing of marriage but for me it is best to choose myself as I can know each other's hearts and then introduce our partner to the family. In Islam the dignity of women is very high and its dignity needs to be protected. Marriage is not temporary but protects family institutions.
Glad Kazak take Islam just as culture. Unfortunately in my homeland, Afghanistan, we are destroyed by that nonsense. The less the present of religion in life the better the life. Any question about Islam, ready to answer. Studied Islam ex Mula and current agnostic atheist Alhamdo Lilah
@@radnj4610You are so right about that: the less, the better. And it is not only about Islam, but any religion. Of course it's much worse in Afghanistan, my heart cries when I think in the sufferings of your people. Unfortunately, it seems that religions are spreading faster and faster around the world by the day, and they are growing even more fundamentalist. Islam in Asia, Africa and Europe, Christianism in the Americas... it's like a plague that feeds in the ignorance and fear of the people and the greed of the leaders.

The idea of US women more “liberated” as you said at 14:50 is just how we position our narrative, but there is just as much repression in the US as elsewhere, but the repression isn’t discussed. For example there are more notions of political correctness (which is a repression) or obligation to be not judgmental (ironically also a repression because you canot express your real feelings and have to smile artificially and so on). All cultures have indoctrination and a limited scope of freedom but different cultures just use different narratives about how free they are. One or another Muslim women with a man caring about her might consider themselves more fee than a US woman with a mortgage and stressed about saying the rights things to not lose her job, as a random converse example, yet it depends on the individual predicament. Yet the same Muslim woman may proudly say “I am not free” whilst actually being more free. Or another woman may view herself as feminine but not be perceived by men as feminine, and so on. How we perceive ourselves either individually, or as a culture, is often driven by narrative rather than being objective.
Thank you for a very frank video, that is deeply informative for one hoping to join Qazaqstan society (when travel is open again). I get your point about having a patriarchal society and how virginity is considered important for the girl and stuff...But trust me I don't think it's religion that's responsible for that..I think the entire Asia is like that..I mean South Asia is predominantly Hindu and Buddhist (India and Sri Lanka) and everything you say about Kazakhstan culture and beliefs resonates with South Asian culture as well..except the multiple wife part but guys often have extramarital affairs ah..ao
Hi, thank you for your interesting report. One simple but important question: how can we realzie if there is any scam dating when it comes to Kazakhstan women? i am asking this, because of a real case i have. She is communicating with me since 3 months, sending me diff. pictures and also showed me her ID (passport) and is willing to fliy to US (where i live). But she is avoiding any video call, with the excuse that in Kazakhstan whatsapp and similar APPs are restricted! i would appreciate any advice on this. From you or anyone else in this Chanel. Thank you very much in advance!
Why is this girl lying so much? Kazakhstan is not a Muslim country, but secular because we have a lot of Russians living, and when our boyfriend cooks food, it’s normal, it’s very normal, he’s never looked down because he cooks food. And also about Islam, in Islam you can’t marry a second wife if the first wife does not agree to marriage, and in Islam if a man can provide for his wives and make them happy, then you can!! Please do not tell me about false information, there are no men in Kazakhstan who have 2 or 3 women, even if it is very rare. We mostly disagree with this and look at such a person as not a normal person!!! I say that as living in Kazakhstan! I live in a small town, and everything is fine here, women and men also work, and they have time for children, as well as guys always take care of and protect their girls, take care of and give gifts! Honestly, I don’t see polygamy as something wrong. It’s just that it happens in countries where women have few rights, so polygamy can be oppressive to women because women have no say. If women is fine with marrying a polygamous husband and sharing with other women with the husband then I don’t see the problem. Of course, most women wouldn’t want that but a minority would be fine with it.
Is it a normal or acceptable in Kazah''s culture that young wife got a much older husband? And what is an acceptable range? Ty in advance for your answer! p.s. I enjoy learning about your country from your YT videos. You make a great job for Kazahtan's tourism. Just keep going on!
11:45 :- That’s Hindu (Sanatani) Thing .. 7 generation thing. We can’t marry in our villages , Even girl/boy shouldn’t have same ancestors for 7 generations.. People think it will show bad impact on children & even on society. It’s very hard , strict rule. We can’t marry a girl from same village , because they are consider our sisters. For elders they are their daughters ( Girl is either a daughter or a sisters in her village) .. They can walk freely in Village. Do whatever they want . So they can at least enjoy their life in their village freely & happily & even parents don’t have to worry about their daughter. Because obviously they are sisters, daughters of whole village. No-one/outsiders can’t dare to touch them. Specially in village. So, they freely walk enjoy & play ..
Yeah, you are right, first wedding from bride's family side (usually 120-200 people, 85% bride's relatives), second one groom's side, actually it is main one (usually 250-350 people). Because, if both sides' parents agreed, they can just cancel first wedding (we call it "Kyz uzatý"). Sorry for my English, it is not so good, but hope understandable
@@АкмаралБураханова-з9ь i dont know why do u need 2 weedings since u can have all Ur entire relatives and Ur close people ar Ur party :)) i mean thts a stupid way to have more expenses

And the same thing happens with groom's wedding. And you said it is very expensive as I understood. But it is not about money when it touches traditions. 1) Kazakh families usually have a lot of relatives and it is not only brothers and sisters, there could be also friends of our parents, even our neighbours, groom/bride's friends from school, University, etc. And if you invite all of these people at one time it will be real mess. 2) There is also a historical background. Kazakhs (maybe you remember when Salta said) do not marry till the seventh (even twelfth) generation to prevent in-breeding/incest. Accordingly always had chosen groom/bride's family as far as it possible (for example: if you are from the South Kazakhstan, but marry a girl from the North). And, of course, at 15-19th centuries bride's family sent their daughter to other family and had not been seeing her for 1-3 years. (Kazakhstan has such a territory, and at that time there were not any transports except for horse. And round so called trip took 4-6 months). And only groom and his 10-15 close people came the bride's home to get her and her family organizes such event where the girl can say goodbye to all her relatives/friends (of course, all her relatives didn't come to the, so called, groom's wedding, because his home in the other part of the country). And then only 10-15 bride's close relatives accompanied her and her husband and went to the groom's home. And this tradition which we have been following for centuries. And do not having enough historical knowledge, said stupid about the traditions or way of life of another people who generally live in another continent is stupid (sorry, if it is rude, but I said what I said). And of course, now young people understand everything, and if they are living in one region/city they usually try to do only one big wedding for 200-250 (no Kyz uzatý because the bride will not go anywhere) and invite only close ones.
Hi Salta, thank you for your very informative blog, one question please if you would not mine. About practice of religion? Is there any law against sharing the good news about Jesus in your country being a 70% Muslim?
In big cities like Almaty or Astana, yeah, it’s quite common. People from west or south of the country are more conservative. Interracial marriages are less common there.
Great vid, very informative. Maybe you answered this for someone else but I’ll ask anyway.. what are the cultural, societal, and peer views on sex , hooking up, etc as it relates to dating? what about some sex couples, is coming out socially accepted - are guy/ guy relationships less accepted than girl / girl? what about teen pregnancy or pregnancy outside of marriage? Are abortions taboo, common ( I.e not uncommon for a woman to get an abortion if she does pregnant outside of marriage? Is infidelity as common as it would be in the US or are other reasons such as finances for example a common cause of breakup? Also considering doing a vid addressing health care: medical, dental, eye Dr , gynecological, whatever, as it relates to cost, culture, expectations, and so forth Thanks
Here it's less accepted both, guy&guy or girl&girl (especially on public, even guy&girl couples' kisses or e.t.c. are not welcome on public) The vast majority of people are conservative. About hooking up, all people are different. But mostly (other cities except Almaty&Astana( ) people hook up after marriage
Too bad you come from a Muslim country without knowing the rights of women in Islam. Islam raised the status of women and made them equal to men in most rulings. So women, like men, are commanded to believe in Allah and to worship Him. And women are made equal to men in terms of reward in the Hereafter. In Islam, women are not obligated to earn or spend any money on housing, food, or general expenses. If a woman is married, her husband must fully support her financially and if she’s not married, that responsibility belongs to her closest male relative (father, brother, uncle, etc). She also has the right to work and spend the money she earns as she wishes. She has no obligation to share her money with her husband or any other family members, although she may choose to do so out of good will. Any form of emotional, physical, or psychological abuse is prohibited in Islam and the improper treatment of women is no exception to this rule. A woman has the right to accept or reject marriage proposals, and her approval is required to complete the marriage contract. Women have the right to own property, buy and sell, inherit, give charity, and give gifts. It is not permissible for anyone to take a woman’s wealth without her consent. In an environment which constantly emphasizes the physical form through various media, women are constantly faced with an unattainable standard of beauty. Although Muslim women are falsely classified as oppressed based on their modest dress, they are in fact liberated from such objectification by the society around them. This modest appearance, which includes veiling, highlights a woman’s personality and character instead of her physical figure and promotes a deeper appreciation for who she is as a person.
I do not see much women making the first move here either!! especialy when over 40,there are some...but not many..btw I live in the Netherlands..western Europe.
u tend to be more suited to western culture why not u go there to live as u are not muslim any more and for muslims women are fine in islam if u see in western cultures there is no family bond as in islamic society as u are complaining men will also complain that they have to do the hard work, giving money and other things.differrent people have different morality and opinion but what allah has commanded is objective morality for all.
that is not true about women in Islam, they can work, they can walk alone, they can do anything but the problem Islam is preventing is that most guys cant control themselves if you are alone they might do something, but if guys are not that bad, you are good to go .( sorry for english)

- Kazakhstan is not Muslim country, but a country with Muslim population majority.
I knew it from the post about kazakh labels in western world from AbaiCartoons on Instagram

there is a missunderstanding about kidnapping, most of the time the girl agrees with the man to kidnapp. because they love each other but the girl's parents asks more for qalym, or sometimes it is very expensive to marry by traditional way, to avoid it parents of both sides give permission to "kidnap". Nowadays "kidnapping" is more a tradition than a crime. the term "kidnap" used here is not true, should be used "escape". because "қашу" means to "escape".
Alyp qashu actually means kidnapping))
I thought only kyrgyz would kidnap their bride as tradition.
Thanks for new knowledge.
@neil gordon Good to know.

Nice try

I was very surprised by how many people from my university (undergrad) got married right after graduation or even before
Yeah. This is true.
In KZ, once you start dating, you’re expected to get married in 1-2 years max.
Very good overview. Thank You.

Great work!
It's because economically local men in Kazakhstan are able to buy a house or flat at their mid 20s with little or less help from their parents
Also life expectancy is short for kazakhs and people don't wait too long to have kids
I think it's mainly economical
There is no "biological clock". You're just being sexist.

Hi the
Knowing half of the religion is scary😱.

Hello, you said that dating apps are not big in Kazakhstan, but when people use them, which ones? Thanks.

Regardless of gender, ethnicity, country, or religion, humans can be roughly grouped into
two groups: The first group lives only for selfish gratification and thrills, with no awareness
of what life is truly about, and at the expense of others. This inevitably ends in self-destruction,
the destruction of family and society at large, as history has repeatedly shown. The second group
is opposite to this. In reality, we are not fighting against each other, rather it is a fight between
ignorance and awareness. With ignorance comes bondage, conflict and suffering, with awareness comes
true freedom. So be truly free. Every soul is hostage to what it has earned (Quran 74:38). Do not let
this life deceive you (Quran 31:33).

Become a 👨🍳 Chef and it will be OK 👍
Advice?
If she’s really into you she’ll make it easy.

WhatsApp or another apps are NOT restricted here. She's lying to you
GOOD VIDEO. THANKS.
I’m a girl and I confirm that!

I want to know more about Kazakh men , do they date or married foreigners??
Just keep going on!

is any marriage agencies in Almaty?
I've been on your videos and you have said that there are 2 types of weddings in your country.. but I can't find it.. thank you.. Jim
@@iliepetcan1736 usually to Kyz uzatý (1st wedding) 85-90% come only bride's relatives and only 10-20 people groom's close relatives like parents, brothers/sisters/their wives/husbands to introduce themselves that's it.
