$1,000 a month isn't barely surviving in Thailand. It's a lot. Here in the south, rent is $100, water $3, electricity $15, motorcycle fuel $10, internet $12, food $160 if you eat out a lot. That's $300 a month. I bought a house, so my bills are $200 a month. My inground 12 meter long pool is almost complete. I get $1,150 from my retirement in America. I take 3 or 4 vacations every year. Drinking, gambling, and women will make you broke in any country.
@@MJY3692 You're probably speaking about the Yala district which is very close to Malaysia. I live 4 hours north of there. But last weekend I had lunch with a police officer that is working in the Yala district with the American embassy. He works 20 days on, then 10 days off. It's true that in the past there was a lot of unrest there. The area is 85% Muslim. The 3 southern districts of what is now part of Thailand were part of Malaysia. But when the British controlled the area, the land was given to Thailand. It was no longer part of Malaysia. The people there don't speak much Thai. They think of themselves as Malaysian, and have been pissed off about the land deal for many decades. The Thai government wasn't supporting the infrastructure much there, and it angered the locals. They wanted to rejoin Malaysia. The conflict was a little like Northern Ireland in the 1980s and 1990s. Random bombings and attacks by radicals. I asked my police officer friend about the issue last weekend. He said the government funding has improved the lives of most of the locals through farm subsidies, a one dollar limit on hospital visits, school improvements and social programs. There are still some unhappy people there but conditions have improved a lot for the majority of the inhabitants. The random acts of violence have dropped by 90% or more in the last 20 years. All in all, I feel that it's a lot safer than most large American cities. We have friends there and I don't think twice about visiting them. Hope this helps you a little.

For me my condo next to bts is 30000 a month, I plan to stay here at least 5 years or more so better for me to buy a condo than waste money on rent, no fear of rent rise or owner selling, to each their own as they say all depends on your finances.
You can always buy a property in your own country and rent it out, use the rent from your property to rent a property in Thailand. The point about trying to resell Thai property and it being difficult to get out of the market is very valid.
@@kellywalker4494 I’m from Australia and resell on apartments there are always losses when you sell, plus all the outgoings, land tax, council rates, water rates, owners corp fees agents fees and have to pay tax on the remainder, or could have left the money in a bank and earned 5% but still have to pay 30% tax as I’m non resident there now, buying here was better for me and my circumstances, and resell should be ok as I’m next to bts a 2 min walk 5 stops from Siam :)
Foreigners should rent for flexibility. 30,000 a month, even in Bangkok, is pretty pricey for most foreigners. Lots of nice condos near BTS/Metro for half that or less.
Is it better though, if you buy this condo for 8M Baht, and when you go to sell it in 5 years you very well may get even less than 8M Baht for it. Better off to invest that money in an asset which actually appreciates.

Why do we need to avoid landlords who want 12 months contracts and increase the rent each year. I think that’s kind of normal in any country. Of course if you can find a landlord that agrees not to increase the rent in 5 years then so much the better.
Condos are so numerous if they hike the rent after a year move to another condo. If you are a good tenant then a decent landlord will try and keep you by not hiking to the rent. Renters market, not landlords.
7:18 what does "occupancy" mean? You seem to imply that the developers are still holding 70% of the units in your building. in other words, 70% of condos have never sold. If that's typical then builders must be losing tons of money. Yet new skyscrapers keep getting built every year and many by the same developers, like Ananda and Noble
From what I have seen it does seem like the builders are holding onto condos for many years still trying to sell them off. For example my condo is a 5 year hold building and they still have a sales office/team actively trying to sell the remaining units. The room I moved into and rented was brand new, never lived in, as example. This is why buying any of these newly built big condos brand new is almost always a bad idea, if you insist, buy one that has already been bought and being sold at a discount to the builders price. In my building you can get condos at 20%+ discounts than what the builder is still trying to sell them at.

If your not a bar fly, Hua Hin is boring. There is nothing to do except drink..... The beaches are terrible.
How come so few discussions. Just people posting their opinions…
If you pay a girl to live with you, she's an employee, not your girlfriend.
If guys like paying for everything, does that still make his girlfriend an “employee?” That’s kind of a ridiculous statement!
@@jeffryan7262Ridiculous ffs😂😂he paid my rent because he chose to cause i cooked n cleaned all he had to do was come home to rest n chill! That was of high value for himself!!

@@jeffryan7262 There's a huge difference between paying for everything and paying your girl a monthly salary. You obviously have an employee with you.

Life usnt a struggke if you make the right choices. If you cannot manage your finances in another country you wont do amy better elsewhere. You manage YOUR money not a thai girlfriend mamaging YOUR money. If they try then time to dimp them. The whole, feed me, show me, take me, buy me and possibly f me, culture anywhere must be evaluated fir the net benefits. Otherwise, you will be broke. If you are lonely, buy a dog, they are haspy to kerp you company and go where you want to go.
Thats what u get for moving overseas with no good steady income from retirement or investments, most of the vloggers i have seen over the years go back home. They are there for sex and enjoy the moment time, then back to their country to earn a retirement and decent money.
Haha I’m making more money now than I ever have, don’t worry about that 👌
Strewth..2 options stay or go.whinging moaning is not an option
you are becoming more and more dramatic
Bang Saray shits on Hua Hin and It's 30 minutes away from Pattaya if you need some seedy shit in your life, Beaches are awesome and It's quiet and not far from Makro and other shopping. I'm moving there in December when my lease expires in Central Pattaya, Rental prices are cheaper than Pattz also
