NO Rent or Mortgage
NO Utility bills
NO Council Tax
That's a saving of about £1,400 every single month.
...and this is why the govt are cracking down on van lifers...they are on to the fact that you are not paying rent, gas, electric, council tax etc etc...they do not want more and more people opting out - living off grid, having freedom and not paying into the companies that they either own, have shares in or are major donators to their cause...

Liam I agree with you totally and I would like the T-shirt too, I would rather be skint in a van than skint in a house. The freedom of being able to see somewhere different everyday and take all your possessions with you is the best thing.

Liam, thank you sooo much for this video, it's just what I needed to hear. My minibus conversion is 75% complete but I have really suffered from depression and life throwing shitty curb balls the past 2 years, whilst being stuck in a house, and you are so right in saying feeling depressed in a house is so much worse! You've really picked me up today, and motivated me to get my arse in gear, finish the van build, move in and get out on the road so that I can finally enjoy more freedom physically and mentally, have more money in my own pocket, and consequently a better quality of life 😀. Thanks mate, much appreciated 👍

Bought my first house Liam when I was 18, yes there are bills but the 3 houses we have had in our lifetime have increased in value far more than the bills have cost. I have loved my vans, best was my VW Cali but I wouldn't want to live in it full time, we are all different and the world would be very boring if we weren't. Cheers K.

@@joline2730 I can sell my car to purchase a van, I've seen a few in budget, but I always talk myself out of it with things like, nope, can't live without a bath lol. Actual practicalities af van living don't really phase me, and the vanlife community seems great and very supportive. Maybe one day .....

Ive done VL in Hawaii, California, Spain, France, Morocco, Mexico…… cant beat the freedom of going to surf spots with all the comforts of home.

Oh buy way I was a mechanic in the RAF 30 years ago spent half my life under or in series , snatch ,forward controls. And the Belfast pig Or as old MOD used too call them. Gun tractors . All the best

I think you under estimate your skills for making a mobile home. Just finished a Boxer conversion. Tidying up around my house so I can set off on a voyage of discovery and leave the house to my daughters. Retired early because I could. Fed up with the rat race and all the BS in the oil industry.

I think theres more than two of us Liam! I think living van life is a goal for many of us with the cost of living crisis as it is.
in UK there are approx 60,000 folks living full time in vans. Some had no other choice, None regret it.
There is no cost of living crisis it is a greed crisis headed to agenda 2030

Agree with everything you say, except the coffee 😁 best decision I ever made moving into my van, however low I can be, is way higher than if i was living in bricks and mortar with the same problem!

It is if you live down south, i used to work 60 hours a week just to pay my rent and bills, since living in a van i work 30 hours and still have spending money

Nice video, I’m coming up three years full time in my motor home , and dropped to a four day working week, could probably live on less but yes biggest thing for me is the financial freedom 👌definitely simple way of living just with different challenges that get easier the longer you been doing it…

I would love to live in my van and as soon as my kids have had enough of me I’m off 😂always wanted to be alone and the nights I do spend sleeping on my van floor in my sleeping bag are the best ones. All and above great comments .i have been living in nearly the last 30 years in self built motor homes and after i found out this year my partner of nearly 20 years had been seeing somebody else and if i had moved complety in with her know i would be homeless know so the old saying says DONT PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN 1BASKET you never know whats round the corner .thank goodness i didnt fall in that trap .ps age doesnt matter when you jump im 68 next birthday .good luck everbody with van life xx
Living in a van no- limited storage - limited space - leisure in a van -great - using a van to camp while working away-another plus - but in the damp and cold uk winter it would just drag you down into a cold grey pit

The temptation of van life, freedom. Come and go almost anywhere as you please. But i think i would struggle in winter. I can't afford to have my heating on at home but other than that can manage OK in my house although some repairs are needed but my mortgage is paid off. Trouble is I have rescue animals, 4 cats and 3 rabbits. Not possible to even do extended van life trips because of my love and commitment to them.
You inspired at the beginning, and now I do it my way I will never go back to a house

Great insight :-) It's great to hear that you are living the dream and inspiring others. I've lived in small homes and big homes and I can honestly say that I've had the best times in the smallest homes. Enjoy the experience while you are young and save like crazy for a comfortable retirement.

It's decimated the used van market in the UK
It's made it impossible for a tradie like myself to buy a 6 year old van for a reasonable price.

liam this house living you are right it is disgusting the way them energy companys try it on like the tosser lot i am with i switched my gas off and they know i do not use gas anymore but they the tossers try and estimate me so i am wating till the ombudsman decision imagine and the gas supplying tossers refuse to talk to me although i am a customer,now i live alone so living like a hermit using little electric does not bother me but i do feel for familys that need to use the greedy energy suppliers gas and electric as how do they manage,this country is so corrupt now where did all these big charges come from and i refuse to pay them by cutting back and good for you van dwellers thats the life great videos thank you

Great insight Liam. I'm retired now and can live my dream of 3 months touring in the van, 6 months in the house, before escaping UK winter by jetting off for 3 months of summer sun in New Zealand. We fly in four weeks, bring it on. This will be our tenth trip since our daughter emigrated there 15 years ago.

I've been in my Van built it on my own , been in since January of 2020 and it was great that I was in my Van you can definitely save money save money and that's what I've been trying to do I've got solar, 4 100 ah lithiam batteries and plenty of vectron products. I do find that I don't rush from place to place because like you said you have everything in your Van so it's a lot less stressful trying to get from place to place much love Liam
Will you not make out that what you do is not a skill, of course it is and you are very good at it. Blokes would love to have those abilities. Stop using negative words, words are important Liam.
