@@wennwenn1422 yes it is very disappointing.company didn't shared any details of RAM & storage capacity.Sales person declared it has expandble storage upto 16gb, so I end up buying it.But the fact is it's inbuilt storage is hardly 3.7gb which is already full with preloaded apps and expandable option is upto 16gb but you cannot download or install any game like Asphalt on expandable memory.so expanding memory is also a waste.Because already filled inbuilt memory won't let you download any heavy game due to storage limitations.
Here’s my take. I am a casual tv watcher…. Im not super nerdy about television technology…. I just want the tv to work and look good…. I just bought X80J 65” and i love it.
That sounds right. As long as it’s competitive and priced fairly right, Im interested. I like most of all the fact my old Sony HD remote works on my new 50” x80j. So good when half asleep and lazy.
As a Best Buy worker, this TV is an amazing “entry-level” tv with premium features and performance. I’ve gotten many people to spend a little more from a Samsung TU7000 to the X80J and they love it.
Yooo I just got this TV today from Best Buy I got the 65” and idk the picture quality looks a little shit to be honest, it’s blurry. When I press display it says 720p and I am very confused.
@@N0no420 Is your signal device feeding a 720p?? You gotta make sure the device itself is set into 1080p or 4k. And you need to calibrate it. No tv just looks perfect out of the box. You gotta adjust the sharpness/brightness/contrast to your setting.

It doesn’t work on HBO max when I press display just the clock and Temperature pop up As far as gaming some of my games just don’t look great but it’s a Nintendo switch so graphics aren’t priority number 1 🤷🏽♂️ smash bros looks pretty awesome but Monster Hunter stories 2 “a very new game” looks pooo

@@N0no420 You don’t change the tv to 4k. It depends on the device. Almost all cable companies only support 720p and do not broadcast 4k signals. To take advantage of 4k, you need to have a 4k capable device such as a 4k blu ray player, a video game console that supports 4k, or a streaming service like netflix that supports 4k. As for netflix, you need to upgrade your plan to support 4k, it costs more money.
This also has the new ATSC-3 tuner and TRILUMINOS PRO. The Costco X81CH version of this is $50 less but has neither of these features. So beware if you use OTA.
Hi Steve, Brought my 55" X80J and is stunning. Am glad that i chose Sony over Samsung. One thing I like to ask, the wide aspect ratio feature is grayed out and not available. Any alternative to change it, because all the movies from Netflix/Prime are having the black top and bottom (letterboxing) which I would like to either stretch/wide it to see a big picture, any thoughts ?
It’s because it’s recorded in anamorphic which is the proper aspect ratio. The only work around that I found is using external 4K device, then you can change that setting.
@@TechSteve I see, thanks for the tip. I hate to use external device because that looses the Tv's native UI experience. Is there a way we can set shortcuts like when we press home button it goes to external device instead of Tv UI etc. ?
My only complaint that I've found today after I got it all hooked up is that it doesn't have the "pic off" feature which turns the screen off but still able to stream music through the tv/soundbar
I got sony x80j 55 inch. Amazing 👍👍 Don't even think about other brands. I compared many tvs in showroom. With all samsung models like au8200, lg 7750 etc. Also with qled models Q70a, Lg nano 83. Sony beats them out of the water. It's indeed qled tv, though Sony calls it by name Tri luminous pro.

I plan on getting the 55” version. I’m looking to watch regular cable tv and have Netflix but not gaming so it sounds like this is just the tv I need. I just need the basics. I don’t watch sports or anything so I don’t need all those bells or whistles that really doesn’t affect how I watch tv.
People say the same about Apple too. Understandable but it's all in the name and quality. All our Sony's have lasted 10yrs+. Had Vizio and Samsung, lasted 6-7yrs at best. We got this one to replace a Samsung that lasted 5yrs. I'd love to get a Sony at a Vizio price but then what did it give up to get that price? Buy cheap, get cheap.

I bought today the 50" model from a department store near London, UK. Price: £899 or US$1200. Sony is very expensive but so is Samsung. The TV is not particularly slimline. My old Sony (8 year old) which broke down is far slimmer and sleek looking.

I am considering ordering this Sony - but, I have ZERO interest in connecting it to the Web or using any of these added features. I simply wish to use it as a TV and having it connected to a roof top antenna, and if possible, I would like to reuse an existing Vizio Soundboard that I already own, and connect a DVD/VHS external player. I also have an old Roku 3 device that I had on my older and now deceased JVC LCD TV that I'd like to reuse on this Sony, if that is possible. Please do a video that steps people through the setup for this Sony X80K 4k 43 inch model - without any Internet connection desired. Like how you scan for over-the-air channels that your rooftop antenna can detect and then program them into your channels list.

I tried going cheap on the X80J but couldn't get by the bad blacks and dark corners and went and spent the extra money on the OLED A80J, the X80J is a decent tv!

Got this TV for my wife because she doesn't play video games. Also have a Xbox One S on this TV. When I get a Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S will be getting another TV that takes advantage of current gen console technology.

question about mounting this. i got a 55” and the manual says m6 screws go into the adapter, but the m6 screws that came with my sanus mount are way too big. is it m4 screws? that seems small for a 55” tv
I tried 4k and it buffered non stop for me but you can try it. I was using it to show 4K content from my phone for the videos I make, finally I just use thumb drives and no issues. www.apple.com/airplay/

Hi there. In terms of the TV having no component ports, if I have an audio cable (red and white) and plug it in analog audio out port and a component cable (green blue red) and plug them in the digital optical audio out port will it work? Because I want to play my PS2 and Nintendo Wii with the component cables on the X80J

I'm confused. Direct backlighting is why it doesn't have local dimming? I thought that it was *harder* to do local dimming with edge lit displays.

Me personally I would buy a TV made for outdoors, mainly because it’s weather sealed. I have a controlled lighting studio and haven’t used any TV outdoors

question about mounting this. i got a 55” and the manual says m6 screws go into the adapter, but the m6 screws that came with my sanus mount are way too big. is it m4 screws? that seems small for a 55” tv

I tried 4k and it buffered non stop for me but you can try it. I was using it to show 4K content from my phone for the videos I make, finally I just use thumb drives and no issues. www.apple.com/airplay/

Hi there. In terms of the TV having no component ports, if I have an audio cable (red and white) and plug it in analog audio out port and a component cable (green blue red) and plug them in the digital optical audio out port will it work? Because I want to play my PS2 and Nintendo Wii with the component cables on the X80J

Hey Steve, you said VA panels give better contrast and the 50” model is the only one in the series which gives a VA over IPS, how does having a VA panel affect picture quality or is it just the viewing angles that get compromised?
The viewing angles are much better on newer TV's, I haven't seen the 50" but i'm sure that ur would be fine
