hmm I use Google flights almost all the time from South Dakota (a small regional airport) to Managua. I used to be on American but lately United has been cheaper. American is out of Miami, and United is out of Houston. I didn't realize that Liberia Costa Rica is actually a good option! There's a direct flight from Denver so I could get there in two flights instead of 3, which cuts some time and gives me more options. Thanks for the info! Oh on one of my trips for whatever reason i went through Panama and it was fine but the extra security was pretty annoying. keep up the good work Scott!
For Eastern Canadians: The Avianca flight out of YYZ through San Salvador is an easy option. It's often expensive but I caught it at $400CAD return (300USD) for March 2025. Avianca also has a slightly larger personal item allowance compared to other airlines so basic economy is a reasonable option. See ya in March!
No direct flights, but Avianca is the flag carrier for Colombia so normally is your best choice. Copa through Panama City is pretty good, too. All South America flights need to go through another airport, South America has no connections to Managua NOR Liberia.
For sure i want to go to my beautiful nicaragua

I've done Liberia several times and it's really not too bad, if you don't mind the drives at the end :)
Arrived today directly from Fort Lauderdale in Spirit airlines.
