Omg, this. My hair is halfway down my butt now. I went into a salon to ask about getting it lightened (from brown to blond) and the first thing the lady said is: WE HAVE TO CUT 6 INCHES OFF YOUR HAIR. I didn't even ask for it to be trimmed or styled. I literally just wanted it lightened. I told them I didn't want it cut, just dyed, and that one lady kept insisting on cutting off the "damaged end" so I know that if I allow her to get near my hair, she is gonna wanna "trim" it. You say one inch, they take off 10. It's ridiculous.
