My wife's hair is over 4 feet long. She washes it once weekly, conditions it, and uses a horse tail bag when sleeping. She also uses horse shampoo and conditioner called Cowboy Magic, and a wide toothed comb (no brushes).
I don’t use a brush either when mine gets tangled. It’s maybe a foot shorter & takes just about as long (I was detangling along with the video ; )), but I use my fingers to detangle it. I’m not sure if that’s generally considered a good idea or a bad one, but it feels like it does less damage. My hair is baby fine, so it feels like I would just be ripping it out with a brush. I can brush it afterwards - but it just feels less damaging to work through it with my fingers first.
@MzMahoganyHoneyBrown While I worked in the food industry they seemed to be nightmarish. Now that I have moved careers they aren’t as bad. My theory is that stress can effect this(?). Right now they are getting pretty bad my hairstylist moved and I haven’t had much luck finding someone I want to cut them off. The last time I got my hair done (since first comment) I got home only to discover that she’d left me with a 1-inch chunk that was about 2-inches long.

*Me watching this 3 days before school starts* Um, I haven’t brushed my hair in like forever and I felt a huge knot and I’m scared to brush it out 😭😭😭😭
As much as I, as a guy, LOVE long hair on women, whenever I see a woman whose hair is one big knot, I think, "Haircut time"! In more recent videos, Camrin herself has hair which is about half as long as it was here, which is unfortunate but more practical, since she took wonderful care of hers.
I really understand the sore scalp aspect of long hair. I have hella thick curly hair that I only brush before I take a shower and keep in a bun or ponytail and it gets so sore sometimes
lauren perkins, I had hair almost down to my hips, and would develop migraines while I was pregnant from the scalp soreness. I couldn't wear it up, I couldn't wear it down, I just wasn't supposed to have hair that long while with child.

This is right, start at the bottom, only brush higher when the lower is free of tangles. It also helps a lot to spritz the hair with water. I use a spray bottle with water and conditioner. You can also divide the hair into sections. Doing one section at a time.

As a Hair Stylist... You shouldn't be doing this with dry hair hun... It causes breakage and damage! Consider De-tangler next time or just mist it with water! ❤
Shiv "scientist in hair" mhmm sure... I'm saying mist it with water, getting it slightly moist/damp... not soaking wet! Had she gone to a professional, they wouldn't have sprayed her hair with water before hand! I've been doing hair for almost 6 years now! Phoenix Infinity Fairhaven But when you brush your hair while it’s wet it’ll become more stretchy and flexible, that will allow the hairstrands to break easier.
Alice Valgeborg I'm not too sure about it. For me it's actually easier brushing it when it's damp/wet compared to when I do it when it's dry and I kind of have the feeling that forcing the brush through my hair isn't that good. For now my hair looks quite healty and it's pretty long too. It may not be the case for everyone, though. (But then again, I don't care that much about growing my hair fast. Thank you!! Your sooo sweet. I’ve cut it since this video, right before I had my 3rd child. I’m not sure if anyone would like to see a hair brushing video of my medium length hair 😆
My hair gets so matted where it touches my back aswell. I use a wooden brush paddle and that works for me because the very bendy ones don’t work on my hair and I sometimes brush it out when it’s damp
Omg you have no idea how thankful I am to you, you and only you are responsible for me being able to untangle my daughter's hair! I wanted to cry already and she was even worse and omg your explanation on brushes just did everything! Thank you!
My hair used to be so thick that it looked like a wig, after 2 kids Iv lost half of it and I’m starting to recede. Iv started taking hair burst vitamins which have a lot of good reviews so let’s see what happens. My hair gets matted so bad sometimes. I only brush my hair once a week fully just before I wash it. And when I scoop it up in a pony tail I’ll just brush my like scalp part. After I wash my hair I have to straighten it which smooths it all out for the week. It’s so frizzy and course. Straightening helps so much
Girl my hair is long thick and curly if my hair gets matted it’s like dreadlocks my scalp bleed before cause I never brushed it for 3 days now I have to brush it daily
I haven’t brushed my curly hair that’s past my butt (til mid thigh)in over 3 weeks and haven’t got out of bed unless it was for food and it’s so bad it literally looks like I have dreads I can’t get it out
I found that using a product that gives slip and use my fingers to detangle.....my hair is classic length. I don't use a brush 💓 just a wide tooth comb. 2C hair with a wave. You are such a loving mother.....God bless.
No u can brush ur hair in the shower because it’s easier u put conditioner in your hair while brushing in the shower and it gets the tangles out easier without hurting that bad
One time i didnt brush my hair for like 4 or 5 days and it got so tangled! Even the Salon couldn’t get the knot out they had to cut it. It was HUGE. I have straight hair not curly btw.
Hey, well my hair is 24in loose wave. U definitely have to comb it at least once a day and maybe put like 4 twist or plats in your hair which will keep it straight and tangle free. And don't forget to mist your hair with a oil and water blend before combing and platting your hair. A lil FYI 😙
My hair doesnt need brushing right now but DAMN I’m close to leaving this bed, get downstairs go get my brush and start brushing my already brushed out hair, hahaha! Have to watch this again tonight...
I only have a Boars hair (?) Brush, and a really painful one. Edit: My hair is really fine. As of right now my hair is *VERY* matted, I haven't brushed it properly in a month.
Start with a wide tooth comb, and thick non watery conditioner. Try and go with little sections at a time, when that section is detangled and conditioned, user a clip or bobby pins and get it out of the way, and start a new one and eventually it'll be done. The worst mine has ever been, was when I almost died. I spent 43 days in the hospital. They were more concerned with keeping me alive instead of keeping my hair done, lol. I hadn't washed or combed in a week as is, cause I felt like crap, so it had been in a messy bun/top knot for 2 months. It took me a week or so, doing little sections here and there to finally get it fixed. Amazingly enough, I didn't lose too much hair, and really not any length.
too funny. my hair is maybe half the length of yours and similar texture. i wash it every 7-10 days and i dont brush it at all lol. so i completely understand the matted aspect lol.
Texaslife43 WHAT?!? I’m not judging but that’s NASTY!! Not brushing your hair ever?! And only washing your hair every 7-10 days?!? Wtf!! I mean you do you boo, but NOOOO!!
I haven’t brushed my hair in two days while I was camping and I slept on it and my mom told me to go get in the shower and use a tone of conditioner and a comb
My hair gets that way over night and I have STRAIGHT hair. To be fair it is fairly long like about to my waist. I definitely need to brush it about 3 or 4 times a day.
I love this real life video! My hair was so much worse than urs was because I just didn't take time for myself and just doing for kids and hubby and don't even realize how long I go without brushing.. but any way I enjoied brushing my hair while this was playing... I couldn't tell if it was my kids crying or urs 😂😂 really enjoied this! 👍👍👍
I barely found your channel but I love this video because I also have long matted thick course hair and the only brush I have is a wide tooth plastic hard comb lol
I started crying when I first saw my hair before I brushed it bc it’s long it’s all the way to my hips and it had BIG BIG BALLS OF NAPS but when I brushed it I felt so better
😍 comments like this is what keeps me making videos! Thanks so much Kimberly! I’m planning on making more hair brushing videos to! I try to be the best mother I can be. My mother was amazing. I have a lot to live up to. 😜
i have hair that is thick and fine like this and honestly [i know this video is a few years old] i am thinking of getting layers into it because it is always matting up and i cant stand it. its so hard to manage and take care of and i cant stand it anymore. i dontknow what else to do, plus its boring and i want some more volume and to be able to do different looks and it not just look matted or flat. i want something else done. maybe im having a crisis lol. im in my early twenties, so prob not, but still. i might be LOL. i love your hair. how did you get it to be that length
Hey! I got it to that length by not cutting it for several years! But I did get to the point you are right now of just feeling like it is boring and flat all the time so I cut it to my shoulders and I like it much better although I wish I would’ve left a little bit more length on it so that would be my advice to you. Just cut it to about the bottom of your armpits put some layers in it and call it good! LOL
I have short hair and when I brush it my right side is a little poofy so I try to put a little bit of water on it to level it down but it don't work most of the time so how do I fix this??
Hearing the brush rip her hair is like nails on a chalk board. I have long hair and I use a wood brush. I would recommend one. Also add a few drops of oil on the ends of your hair and put it in a braid after getting out of the shower. Your hair will feel so much better.
Omg ik I'm really Young but I can relate so much to you.. I was brushing my hair "with" you and "talking" with you and it was such a stress reliever... I love your channel
Like others have said to you on here already, if you're gonna have it that long, you gotta brush it every day, at least once! If you can't be bothered with daily brushing, either consider having dreads, or cut it to shoulder length.
Wavy hair its really dificult, or you do too much and gets oily and greasy, or you do too little and its really dry and frizzy. Coconut oil is a great detangler, and its vegan too, so you coud use for detangle before you have to wash it and will define your curls more. I too have fine hair and its a pain in the butt to detangle it, but i put water and conditioner bc mine its more curly (yes she does have wavy/curly hair. Im white and have 3b hair, deal with it)
I have the same hair as you. It looks so much better long, gets very tangled, and is wavy. I also can't comb my hair while its wet. Because once I finish when its wet, once its dry, its even worse. So yeah.
My hair is just about as long as yours right now and I deal with the same thing! I try to brush every day but I skip sometimes because MOM LIFE! So when mine gets crazy I go with a bun and leave it up all matted inside for a day or two until I have an hour to brush it out. Don't feel bad you're not alone lol.
THERE YOU GO! GET RID OF THE TRAIN BEFORE HE CHOPS HIS FINGER OFF!!!! 😂😂😂😂 GREAT IDEA, BOOK! HE WILL be the SMARTEST child in the WORLD! I LOVE THE BOOK IDEA... 💡!
During the summer I didn’t brush my hair bc I’m irresponsible but my hair goes to my belly button and there is a tight birds nest in the back I’ve tried to get it out several times dry, wet, conditioned, and detangler none of it works and I don’t know what to do someone please tell me how to fix it!🙏
When I was younger I would wear hats a lot and my long ass hair would get matted DOWN to my scalp. My mom brushed for like four hours to get it out once a week sorry mom. Now I have a bob cut so it’s much easier
As a mom, it's not easy to take care of myself Always. Sometimes brushing just doesn't happen. I have 3 and my youngest is teething and 4 months. I am lucky to take a shower weekly 😂
This happens to me all the time! It hurts 😖 But my mom got a new comb that didn't damage my hair. I also don't make my hair wet. More hair came out of my head when my hair was wet 🙁 I was brushing my hair while watching this 😂 but it just wasnt as tangly as it usually is.
I always brush my daughter's hair after she's washed it. It takes around an hour or more and is hopelessly knotty. If we left it to dry naturally it would take about 30 hours to dry. Do you use a hair dryer.
@Lucy webb x thanks for replying with all your advice. My daughter does the brushing with conditioner on in the shower now. She also now blow dries it and brushes it after. She swears its easier.
@ 15:10 That area took me a good 15 minutes by itself. I finally washed it anyway and put conditioner in it. I have to wait for it to dry before I try again. However, I don't use shampoos or regular conditioners. I haven't used store "shampoos" since about 2015. The stuff they put into them are not great usually. I use borax and water with an acid rinse. When I rinse with citric acid and water it sanitizes even my face😏 Thanks again for the video 👍
I went through the same feelings just like you before I went vegan. Except I felt like giving up cheese would be impossible. Then I watched “the best speech ever” on RUclips and went vegan over night! All of a sudden DIDN’T WANT cheese or meat anymore. Literally didn’t even want it. I encourage you to do the same thing! 😘😃
Hey, what's up anyway, why I'm listening to you, I brushed my hair with you. If anyone knows that rats nest can be painful, if you want to keep having long hair, you better get it out. Edit: thanks for all that likes and a special thanks to rin
My daughter's hair looks just like yours but it doesn't brush as well. It's extremely knotty. She brushes it a couple of times a day. After washing it it takes about an hour or more to brush. You brush it then the bit you just brushed is all knotty again. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.
Sometimes when my hair naps up I wish it formed a straight down nap like yours and not try and gather to my scalp. 😒 But when it's combed out and well moisturized I feel like I have the greatest hair texture in the world, lol. 😂 Love hate relationship here.
I dyed the bottom half of my hair darker brown a little over two years ago because it was pink and I wanted to get the pink out before I gave birth to my daughter. The rest is natural.
If i dont brush my hair for a week (which i do more often than i should) it actually looks like a birds nest. All woven together like a ball. It takes an hour to brush :)
You think you have it bad my hair is very matted have not brushed my hair in tow days and is Already matted down And one my mum is brushing my hair it takes around an hour or more
My hair was long like yours. I miss it sometimes. I have the same problem with my hair; it’s think but thin and tangles easily. I used to throw it up in a bun too and delay brushing it too.
Yep sounds like we have the same hair type! I found a brush that works like magic though! My aunt gave it to me last week. Can’t wait to share it with you! Hoping to make a video soon 😍
I also have a story about a woman I saw once! lol. She worked in a boat rental hut. She had an incredible sun-kissed lion's mane. I've looked all over the Internet for pictures of similar hair, but never found hair that beautiful again.
Oh I can so relate to the matted hair... I had hair like yours for 20 years. Mine got matted just like that... all the time! Recently because I didn't want to cut it I got dreads put in... I love them. Your hair is lovely and I enjoyed your video!!!
Wow! 20 years is a long time! I understand though because it’s so awesome having long hair. I’m so glad you understand! Haha! I’m so glad you like the dreads! That’s really cool. I think dread locks are beautiful. Thank you so much for the sweet compliment!
Rin's Vegan Life yes if you like visit my channel and see my first video, I filmed it the day before I got the dreads and you can see my hair is similar to yours. I didn't like haircuts so the last 6 inches of my hair were kind of thin... I always wore it up in a bun. Sometimes I miss it but I have to be honest and say I don't miss combing out the matted hair LOL.
I had this long nice hair but then I didn’t want bangs anymore and my bangs were past my chin and so I got my hair cut to wear my bangs were and it was so frizzy I just hated it but now I have kind of medium hair!
My wife's hair is over 4 feet long. She washes it once weekly, conditions it, and uses a horse tail bag when sleeping. She also uses horse shampoo and conditioner called Cowboy Magic, and a wide toothed comb (no brushes).
Wow that’s fantastic! Thanks for the info!

You should just put your hair into two braids daily since you don’t like brushing your hair. Leaving it matted like that causes damage.
Leonesse Williams Thats a lot of damage
@@inertiacreams actually simple lose braids protect it, and prevent damage and breakage.
@Tippy Crider no they don't. Most people I know with really long hair (like down to the waist like mine) braid it daily to prevent damage.
If shes not prepared to look after it,why have it long
I don’t think so necessarily. Look how long her hair is.
My hair is much like yours. Only mine is SUPER thick, so much that I have to use copper bristles. I haven’t cut my hair in about twenty years.
Omg!! Craziness.

@@christytaylor5554 I really appreciate your advice, but it was cut to the shoulders towards the front and a bit shorter towards the back.
@@RavenIsAnArtist gotcha! I only trim twice a year. It's been past my butt crack for 35 years or so now, lol.
too funny. my hair is maybe half the length of yours and similar texture. i wash it every 7-10 days and i dont brush it at all lol. so i completely understand the matted aspect lol.
Haha! I like to brush my fingers through my hair I wish it didn’t get tangled so easily! 😜
Texaslife43 My sister doesn't brush hers.
why the fuck don’t y’all brush y’alls hair ? Y’all nasty as fuck.
Texaslife43 WHAT?!? I’m not judging but that’s NASTY!! Not brushing your hair ever?! And only washing your hair every 7-10 days?!? Wtf!! I mean you do you boo, but NOOOO!!
Texaslife43 hinge babe
I haven’t brushed my hair in two days while I was camping and I slept on it and my mom told me to go get in the shower and use a tone of conditioner and a comb
Omg ur hair is so long it’s so pretty mine is pretty long also whem I don’t want to brush it I just braid it and it doesn’t get as knotted and matted
Girl this is what my wavy hair looks like daily
My hair gets that way over night and I have STRAIGHT hair. To be fair it is fairly long like about to my waist. I definitely need to brush it about 3 or 4 times a day.
I love this real life video! My hair was so much worse than urs was because I just didn't take time for myself and just doing for kids and hubby and don't even realize how long I go without brushing.. but any way I enjoied brushing my hair while this was playing... I couldn't tell if it was my kids crying or urs 😂😂 really enjoied this! 👍👍👍
This made me want to brush my hair lol. My hair is as long as yours but I hate the tangles. btw I'm 14
I barely found your channel but I love this video because I also have long matted thick course hair and the only brush I have is a wide tooth plastic hard comb lol
i love how the brushing hair and getting it nice turned into a motivational "growing so much as a person and showing love" talk
I like to use Polly pin brushes and wet brushes
i was watching this video and i was brushing my hair and u showed me how to and it worked thank your so much
I relate to you soo much! Having long fine hair really sucks. Even if I just sit down for a few minutes my hair gets tangled
Hey!! Is the white streak in your hair natural
Yes it is. I’ve always had natural highlights. 🤗
Rin's Vegan Life it’s beautiful!
I have that Conair tangle blaster brush but in the paddle version• it is the best brush ever 😺😽
Just wondering how long does it take your hair to get that matted.
I started crying when I first saw my hair before I brushed it bc it’s long it’s all the way to my hips and it had BIG BIG BALLS OF NAPS but when I brushed it I felt so better
I just came to watch you brush your hair. But I completely love you! You’re so positive and such a great mother I can tell
😍 comments like this is what keeps me making videos! Thanks so much Kimberly! I’m planning on making more hair brushing videos to! I try to be the best mother I can be. My mother was amazing. I have a lot to live up to. 😜
Literally everything you said about your hair is the exact same as mine! Finally someone that gets it
u sound like such a sweet soul ! god bless you
My hair gets matted all the time. So thanks for sharing. Good to know I’m not alone!
her voice is so soothing
i have hair that is thick and fine like this and honestly [i know this video is a few years old] i am thinking of getting layers into it because it is always matting up and i cant stand it. its so hard to manage and take care of and i cant stand it anymore. i dontknow what else to do, plus its boring and i want some more volume and to be able to do different looks and it not just look matted or flat. i want something else done. maybe im having a crisis lol. im in my early twenties, so prob not, but still. i might be LOL. i love your hair. how did you get it to be that length
LOL
Your hair is GORGEOUS! You are so cute.
Your hair will feel so much better.
i got bit by a dog on my head so the scar makes it pull more and tangle up
Omg ik I'm really Young but I can relate so much to you..
Wow! You can manage long hair while raising two toddlers? Impressive!
Hey thanks! Haha lots of buns and braids 😁
Girl this helped me so much I felt alone but I do the exact same I never take time out of my day to brush like I should this definitely helped
Awe I’m so glad 😍
Wavy hair its really dificult, or you do too much and gets oily and greasy, or you do too little and its really dry and frizzy. Coconut oil is a great detangler, and its vegan too, so you coud use for detangle before you have to wash it and will define your curls more. I too have fine hair and its a pain in the butt to detangle it, but i put water and conditioner bc mine its more curly (yes she does have wavy/curly hair. Im white and have 3b hair, deal with it)
Thank you for the tips! I will definitely try the coconut oil next time I brush my hair out!
Here's my coffee mug and my tree in the background... um the kids??.😳
I have the same hair as you. It looks so much better long, gets very tangled, and is wavy. I also can't comb my hair while its wet. Because once I finish when its wet, once its dry, its even worse. So yeah.
Omg you GET it. Hair sisters!! 🙌🏻
Yassssss you totally get it! 🙌🏻
I don’t know why but this was so interesting and entertaining to me😂
😂😂 Good!!
I’m sure you’d look beautiful with short hair
Awe thank you ☺️
This happens to me all the time! It hurts 😖 But my mom got a new comb that didn't damage my hair. I also don't make my hair wet. More hair came out of my head when my hair was wet 🙁 I was brushing my hair while watching this 😂 but it just wasnt as tangly as it usually is.
You and me both
I always brush my daughter's hair after she's washed it. It takes around an hour or more and is hopelessly knotty. If we left it to dry naturally it would take about 30 hours to dry. Do you use a hair dryer.
@@amandah5478 No i dont use a hair dryer. Its healthier for hair to dry out by itself. It takes about 4 to 5 hours for my hair to dry. 😂
Wow!!! GO YOU!! That’s so awesome 🙌🏻
I'm a child, and I'm thinking about being coming vegan, but then I'm saying how much I would miss the meats
Ok I will try
I'm gonna try and become vegan for one whole week. If I like it, I might stick with it.
Hey, what's up anyway, why I'm listening to you, I brushed my hair with you. If anyone knows that rats nest can be painful, if you want to keep having long hair, you better get it out. Edit: thanks for all that likes and a special thanks to rin
Thanks for 3 likes?
sameee
My hair was as bad as yours. I couldn't get any brush through it. Then I used your technique and it went through like a breeze.
My daughter's hair looks just like yours but it doesn't brush as well. It's extremely knotty. She brushes it a couple of times a day. After washing it it takes about an hour or more to brush. You brush it then the bit you just brushed is all knotty again. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.
I’ve been keeping olive oil in my hair and it’s been helping a lot!
@@camrinsmith4909 I will try that thank you. That would be good if it does work because I won't use anything tested on animals also
Sometimes when my hair naps up I wish it formed a straight down nap like yours and not try and gather to my scalp. 😒 But when it's combed out and well moisturized I feel like I have the greatest hair texture in the world, lol. 😂 Love hate relationship here.
Haha!! I can totally relate to this! 😜
Your hair is beautiful the way your Father in heaven made it! Embrace it and love it! 🤗
@@MoniMeka I cut it all off back in FEB. 😭 Currently working with 3-4 inches of curly mess. I'll figure it out eventually! 💙💙
You have natural highlights but is the ombré from dark blonde to a lighter blonde natural or did you dye it?
I dyed the bottom half of my hair darker brown a little over two years ago because it was pink and I wanted to get the pink out before I gave birth to my daughter. The rest is natural.
If i dont brush my hair for a week (which i do more often than i should) it actually looks like a birds nest. All woven together like a ball. It takes an hour to brush :)
Can't blame you for chopping it. But it did look awesome!! lol
That's definitely NOT matted hair ... Tangled yes, but NOT matted.
I’m literally crying my hair is so bad right now and it’s only 10 and I have nothing done and it sucks
Is that normal if that’s my hair when I wake up..... I’m scared
Okay I’ll definitely check it out! Yea I bet it’s nice not to have painful hair brushing 😜
Can you DO hair vid on how to growlong hair
Can you give us tips how too growour hair
I had this long nice hair but then I didn’t want bangs anymore and my bangs were past my chin and so I got my hair cut to wear my bangs were and it was so frizzy I just hated it but now I have kind of medium hair!
I did the exact same thing! My hair is about 4in past my shoulders now.
I am glad to see that I am not the only long haired girl to have so many steps when brushing my hair!
Haha 👊🏻💥
GREAT JOB MOM! CONGRATS TO YOU.
