How to needle felt a realistic SISKIN BIRD -Part 2

In this video,I used tops and triangular needles 36 and 40 gauge.
First,we add the tops on the back,than on the sides and the last on the tummy.
The procedure is quite simple: take a stripe of wool,felt in the middle and into the body,fold back on itself, and felt again on the same felting line.
I mixed yellow and green for the back and part of the sides / black on the head /yellow and white with grey spots on the tummy.
I advise you to use the picture with a real Siskin and follow the pattern and colors of the feathers.
Once the bird is covered with tops,I cut the excess very short.If the tops are well felted into the body,they won't come off.
I used a curved scissor,a clipper and a slicker brush
When the tops are cut and brushed,if the shape of the bird needs adjustments,just felt over the tops and adjust with a 36 triangular needle.This will ad texture to the feathers too.
