One thing with Hiya I've noticed is depending on the figure (only referring to their Monsterverse Godzilla line) right when they're out of the box some of the joints can be extremely tight (mainly the torso and shoulders); and you can move his torso back, just have to rotate it a bit to where the middle spike can slide past the one behind it.
I recently got my first hiya figure, the GxK pre-evolved, and I love it! I am absolutely a hiya toys fan and I plan to order their Skull Island Kong figure next
Paint wise, the one you got has a darker/flatter paint, which is GvK, compared to the other versions like 2019 and GxK which has more brown dry brush and paint through the scales, bro didnt even shift the neck sleeves to get more range, or even heat up the figure first
I started collecting last year and NECA was all I wanted until I found out about HIYA. I’m not a photographer so I don’t really need or care for a lot of articulation, I just want some decent poses to display the boys and something that’s more film accurate. My first HIYA was the 2019 Godzilla and I think the coloring on that one is the best. I’ve been scooping/pre ordering just about every new Godzilla release from HIYA since. Excited for them to get to work on the older Godzilla models because I dream of a Little Godzilla that doesn’t cost SHMA money.
W video man, gonna have to watch more of this channel. A point I'd like to bring up about the paint work of these Hiya Godzilla's, besides the 2 heat ray and burning variant's, the 3 available "base form" Godzilla's all have minor paint differences between them, making each one a bit more unique. Yours, the GvK 21 one is the darkest iteration. The most recently released is the one for GxK 24 that Hiya called "re-evolved Godzilla" it's a lighter grey color with a subtle brown wash in the grooves of his scales. Older then these two is the one that has the tag of the 2019 film KotM. It's the same grey as GxK Goji but the brown wash was cranked up to 11 making the figure appear dirt covered as if the G man had come up from underground. The eyes, tongues, and inside of the mouths are all also painted different colors between the 3.
@@madara7989 hey thanks a lot! Ahh I see that makes a lot of sense now! I like the look of some of the other ones more but this one is still awesome. Thanks for the insight!
In terms of overall paint the 2021 v2 doesn’t have much lol, when it comes to base hiya Godzilla, the KoTM and Pre-Evolved have more noticeable paint and a bit of a wash to them
Hey sir dork I just want to tell you that your videos are great and you are one of the best RUclipsrs I've ever seen and you got me through the hard times❤
Great video man! I will say that in terms of the paint on the Hiya, or lack really thereof, it’s pretty interesting. So essentially, the figure you have saw 3 “main” or base versions of that mold, and the one that came before, which is the *King of the Monsters* film version, has a lot more paint added across the body compared to yours. In photos and video, it may look a little odd, but in person, that version looks stunning (that is the one I personally own). Now the other base version is the Godzilla X Kong figure, and that one has a bit more paint as well. Yours just so happens to be the version where they made it the most… Drab lol. Honestly for me, I’ve been collecting SHMAs for years and love all of the ones I own, including the ‘19 Godzilla like the one you have… But I’d say that Hiya does have the most screen accurate, articulated Monsterverse/Legendary Godzilla figure on the market. I love what both brands have done with the character (with 2019 being Bandai’s best version of their mold), and they look great together on the shelf, and serve different purposes for me! SHMA has the better range, crisper sculpt, and accessories, whereas the Hiya is bigger, more accurate, and offers a bit more paint overall. Honestly, Hiya has filled the gap that NECA left when they lost the Godzilla license, yet are offering significantly better figures for a bit more cash, and I love my NECAs.
I got a Hiya Toys Aliens Colonial Marines figure last Christmas from my local comic store, although it was there with at least a few years. Sadly there's no more Aliens figures on the Hiya Toys website. They've a lot of different collections on their website.
Hiya toys has a lot of figures other than Godzilla you can check out like Alien vs Predator, Robocop, even Naruto. Also as for Godzilla Hiyatoys are really hyping up a lot of new Godzilla into their licensing and it will be amazing to see them all. Thank you for this review and taking amazing pictures as always :D
As an avid Star Wars Black Series collector…I’m biased against Bandai/SHF/SHM. I am currently collecting Hiya Godzilla figures. I’ve gotten 7 in the last month or so and absolutely love them. I have two Neca figures and they’re ok, but nothing compared to Hiya.
Can you please do the revoltech iron spider vs bootleg? I haven't seen any good side by side comparisons and am thinking of getting the official but I'm not sure (no problem if you can't, obviously)
I've got the Bootleg and it's not really that good. It's stiff and the spider legs are really fragile. If you are planning on getting it just for display then buy it. If not wait, for a ct toys bootleg
I enjoyed this video, the figure looks really cool! also, I'd love to see a video on a valaverse figure, if that's possible. I got one recently (desert condor), and it's surprisingly really nice.
How about spray painting them yourself? Maybe second-hand cheap ones re-paint and reassemble them to fit what you need for photos. Could be the next step up.
I think the more interesting comparisons will come when more classic versions of Godzilla come out. For 1, Hiya so far has only released figures that used CGI files. And 2, SHMA seems to put more effort into the classics for some reason. Wish they put the same amount effort into all their figures.

@@Gojirawars03 I have to agree, I was hesitant to get g19 for that reason. The paint looks cool from certain angles til I look at the chest and....yeah...not for me. Of course, since you can't buy them new anymore, I guess this is a moot point. Hiya is champ unless NECA gets the license back.
