The fact that Mihoyo gave us the opportunity to just tour Liyue with Zhongli and listen him talk for extra 15+ minutes of our game time tells me they know exactly what many fans like about him the most. Thank you for letting us hangout with Zhongli a bit more, Mihoyo. I needed it in my life. Other than that, I feel that this was an opportunity for them to share tidbits of information in their lore files that haven't found their moment to shine elsewhere. It was quite fascinating. Hearing more about Liyue's history and traditions is far more interesting to me now than I imagined when I first entered the region. Hearing Zhongli's take on Rex Incognito, have him try and go see Xiao in game and talk about his friendship with Cloud Retainer were worth it in and of itself. Is this btw 3rd or 4th time he has referenced the time the Traveller will leave Teyvat? I'm STILL interested to know how exactly does he know that. (And shhh, it's okay, we're not leaving you behind yet, we're here still, please stop talking about the time we'll leave you behind like you're already preparing for it.) In the main story, seeing Zhongli and Hu Tao interact already me made love this event dearly before it even properly started. And the ordinary person comment (and Paimon's retort to it) made me laugh way too much... Also his laughter makes me melt a little every time I hear it. (Also also "I'm literally stalking you". X,D Same, man, same.)
I think he's at least met our sibling. I also think he knows way more about beings from other worlds than he lets on. It's why when we ask him about Celestia he's like "No" lol

His day 7 at the harbor made me cry, it's so heartwarming. The way he called 'traveller' in the last dialogue. It's almost like a goodbye but also a warm welcome. The scipt is so good but his VA is better, he resembles the emotions and wording so perfectly that it made me fell so warm and start crying. Bless this video.

I adored having the characters randomly around Liyue. I would love to see a mechanic where there's a random small chance of seeing characters around Teyvat, with unique interactions. I'd love to be exploring Dragonspine and run into Albedo, or just taking a stroll in Inazuma and see Thoma or Itto. Seeing Zhongli was heartwarming.
Interestingly, they implemented this for the Star Rail game! Now, if I feel silly, I go see one of Hertas in the Space Station to hear her saying that she doesn't enjoy looking at my nostrils (because she's shorter than us the Trailblazer).

I have grown to love Zhongli, and other Genshin characters and the game itself. 💜
Day 2 of the festival, I notice he move around and pay more attention to his dialogue since he give us clue where he will go next, his visit to Wangshu Inn give me image of Xiao screaming in agony to the top of his lung after miss out Zhongli visit the next day 😂
my bf pointed this out: he likes listening to stories especially those of his own as rex lapis because the erosion might have made him forget already, and this was his attempt to keep his memories intact in some way
