I am well satisfied with that point, though only victories can lift us away from the threat of relegation. We looked to have lost the thread at the latter part of the first half and our second half performance in dominating possession was both admirable and a surprise, with the added bonus of showing we aren't a one man team. Cunha can do some amazing stuff on the ball, but we fans do have a tendency to overrate him a fraction. I'm not sure I trust him to keep a level head and make good choices during a match - but, at the moment that little niggle is overwhelmed by the fear he instills in the opposition team.
It's weird how vulnerable Craig Dawson seems to be this season, we all know he's in the twilight of his career, but he was a sturdy rock and leader for much of last season and seems to have regressed to a dizzy rookie this season. We actually missed Toti. A big shout for Matt Doherty and his current efforts - I, like most of us, I think - didn't really have any faith that Matt had got anything left to offer, but he has done a sterling job being drafted in during our time of defensive need. Hopefully one senior, experienced centre-back will be purchase in the winter window.
We don't need two CBs, nor will we buy two. Have some sense. Why do people so ridiculously exaggerate how good or bad our situation or performances are? Neil White really needs to lay to rest his repeated infantile jibe and show Gary O'Neil some respect, O'Neil's early record with us for the first half of last season was exemplary. Yes, he had lost it from the Coventry match onward and needed firing by the end, some fans were prepared to offer him more rope than others during our disastrous run, my limit was the Everton game. We all have our players or managers we can not stand, sure, but let it go and look to the future, Neil. And you'll just have to put up with my and others' 'happy clapping'.
That guy from Lens looks like he'd be a good bet. And to all those who moan about us "selling off our best players", I imagine West Ham fans are well chuffed with buying Kilman at such a snip. And no Matt, we are NOT a million, million miles away from Brighton. Fosun have bought in 12 new players for the first team squad in the past two years - they DO invest in signings as well as selling when the price is good for a player - Chelsea paid over the odds for Neto, though yes it would have been good to have kept him.
Anyway, stop ranting at the stupid hyperbole so many reflexively churn out, Kevin. My personal hobby horse is playing a true winger, though it's not really been born out. Ait-Nouri I guess is the issue. He contributes excellently most of the time, but in my opinion, the fact that he never heads for the dead ball line and whips in a cross means that defenders can read that that isn't a possibility - he WILL check back ad try to create with some fast paced tikka-takka interchanges or a dribble. But how can we drop him - his skill and clever ball to Jorgen created our second goal. Rodrigo Gomes, on the other hand, a more limited player, yes, whacks in a usually dangerous cross as soon as he has a opportunity.
Talking of wide positions, Hwang was anonymous as soon as he was moved out there once Strand-Larsen came on. I'm no great fan of Hwang's, though his finishing is cool and sublime and that goal was a fantastic shot, low and accurate (Tommy Doyle take note!). Hwang is most probably going to be the stand in for Cunha during the latter's inevitable suspension. I hope he'll step up to the mark - two goals on the chart is going to help.
I got rightly castigated for saying that Strand-Larsen held up the ball like a trampoline elsewhere. And, yes, that was an exaggeration - and given what I've said above hypocritical tool! Still a reply of, "no he's superb", really doesn't match the evidence. It was an excellent finish by him for the equaliser, but I think it is evident that Jorgen's hold up play and close control requires some work.
Poor Bellegarde is now the go-to boo-boy I see. How about giving his some, you know, support and hope that he can find some renewed form under Pereira, rather than castigate him as useless and we should get rid. Just like everyone did for Guedes when he was first signed and failed to settle in, I seem to remember..
Any news on Pablo Sarabia? I think he might be another player, if he stays, that would flourish under Pereira. I guess they'll be some goodbyes as well as some hellos to be said in the January window.
It's a long and narrow way out of relegation trouble and a few really difficult matches are coming up. We've still an awful lot of work to do and there will be set-backs, but we all need to keep the faith. UTW.

Not complaining as our structure since VP took over is night and day improvement, but a few times today we fell back into negative attack; where we have the ball in their third and somehow find away to play it all the way back to Jose Sa. IMO, the less Sa touches the ball, the better. 7 points out of 9, great stretch and finally some hope...

Great point. Keeps us ticking along. Didn’t play great but got something. We missed Toti today, we were getting killed down that side, Toti looks like he has ice skates on but at least he is quick and can defend. Cunha is a worry though, let’s hope it’s not months out, if it’s a few weeks it’s perfect timing with the ban. Bellegarde? Why does he play? I just don’t get it, maybe I’m missing something? It never works. Hwang did well, scored again. Next week is massive looking at the fixtures, win that and we have a right chance. 👍

Good point, happy with that. Agree with you Bellergarde doesn’t offer anything for me. I thought Guedes made the difference when he came on. The two Brazilians in centre midfield are just what you want from your midfielders. Thought the back 3 played well, Sa frightens me, but good penalty save. I thought we looked very threatening in the first half of the game even with Hwang and bellegarde in. I would’ve picked us to win even being down 2-1 at the half. However once Cunha came out at halftime and other subs were made I thought we looked really disconnected and all out of sorts. Didn’t have the same chemistry as we see from the starting eleven. Fortunately spurs let us attack and eventually we found a goal. Thought we were lucky to get a point out of this one as spurs could have closed that out with better management.

They were there for the taking, Tottenham were poor. At the start of the day I would have taken the draw, but at the end of the match disappointed we didn't win it. We had so much possession we just needed to be clinical. Having said that the Standlarrsen goal was unreal. Sa needs to leave the football for the players in front of him, he needs to keep it simple, he needs to understand that his there to keep, no fancy stuff.
